Kaibo Yacht Club Phase I is a small, secluded development of only 20 units. With few of the units rented by tourists, you may find you have the beach to yourself many a day. Walking the beach, you are sure to find shells, small hermit crabs, very colorful starfish and other marine life. Kayak Tours leave from the Kaibo for their ecoventure tours of Cayman's North Sound and mangrove swamps. And Red Sail Sports Dive Shop will pick you up at the Kaibo pier for your planned excursions!
Lull yourself to sleep each night and wake each morning to the sound of the trade winds blowing in your patio door as you comfortably sleep in your pillow top California king bed. The master bedroom offers a master bath and large closet, along with cable TV and DVD player. Enjoy your coffee and breakfast on the large screened in lanai accessible from both the master bedroom and living room. The second bedroom has two extra long twin beds that can be converted into another California king. A second cable TV with video game hook up available. With the additional queen size sleeper sofa, your vacation getaway can comfortably accommodate six guests.
If you like to cook your own meals, you will find everything you need in the fully furnished kitchen. However, if eating out is more your style, the island offers many cuisines including authentic Caymanian, of course, Italian, Thai, Mexican, Chinese and traditional Caribbean. The Kaibo Yacht Club Beach Bar and Restaurant is just a skip down the beach, swimsuits and flip flops are welcome. If you venture into a restaurant that offers "Steamed Blackened Mahi Mahi"...simply amazing!
Whether your fancy is swimming the tranquil pool or the warm Caribbean water, enjoying numerous water activities offered by the areas sport shops, or just napping in the numerous hammacks under the coconut and palm trees, there is something for everyone!
Plan to spend a day or two at Rum Point, close enough to walk. The shallow crystal blue waters are a great way to introduce children to snorkeling and the private coves along the beach offer romantic getaways. Fabulous food, tropical drinks, Caribbean music, life changing sunsets, Rum Point has it all. The Cayman Islands are world famous for their spectacular reefs, wrecks and walls to scuba-dive, as well as for "Stingray City" where gentle Southern Stingrays feel like velvet when they brush up against you. Stingray City is just a short 10 minute boat ride from Rum Point.
If you want to experience alittle of the fast paced side of Grand Cayman, visit Seven Mile Beach, the Financial District, the duty free shopping and cruise ship port. We stayed in this condo for two weeks in January. The area is quiet for the most part however the proximity to the Kaibo Yacht Club beach bar resulted in loud music and noise on the weekends. Boat traffic was almost constant with both local boats with loud music playing at the dock all hours of the night as well as big tourist boats doing the same thing. We ended up with the doors closed and a/c on just to sleep. The condo is well equipped however shop before you get there even if it's for the bare essentials like toilet paper and soap. The property was reasonably maintained however could use a more thorough cleaning as our guests from dead bugs in the closet and had bed bug bites. The clothes dryer did not work as well as other appliances that definitely needed work. The owner was very helpful prior to our arrival but never responded to our problems or suggestions upon our return. If you are looking for a quiet vacation definitely go to the Cayman Kai area but look closely at location and reviews from past guests before you rent.
