The website does not convey how incredible this house is in so many ways - each bedroom nicely designed and unique, outdoor bathroom made it possible to shower under the stars, nice seating areas that encourage relaxed conversation, a great deck for morning coffee. We had 11 family members and friends staying with us (young adults to seniors) and each one enjoyed the house. There are two bedrooms on the first floor for those who might have difficulty climbing stairs. Celebrated our daughter's wedding with a dinner party one evening and the kitchen easily accomodated preparations for 25 people. Had the reception for 50+ on the deck with room for dancing, a Merangue band, and round tables. The pool is small but could not be in a more beautiful spot. House was well equipped with beach chairs, coolers, umbrellas, washer and dryer, games, etc. Guests leave items for the next group so we did not have to rush around the first day as there was coffee, etc. for us to use. The owner and house manager answered our pre-stay questions. We paid for an extra cleaning before the wedding reception and the cleaners were very quick and did a great job. The house manager worked well with the wedding planner. This house is lovely and the views are amazing, including seeing the many horses grazing in the field next door. Wish I could have coffee on the deck tomorrow.

Dear Peggy and Bob, We want to thank you for making our stay at Journeys End an incredible experience. We celebrated the 50th Wedding Anniversary of my brother and sister-in-law. It was a total surprise to them that their children and grandchildren would be joining them to help celebrate the occasion. Thanks to Karen, your property manager, everything went according to plan. The house was better than advertised and had all of the amenities you could possibly want or need. Our family of 8 adults and 2 children immediately felt comfortable and at home. The ocean views from the upper deck were spectacular. Since it was off season, many of the restaurants were closed but we enjoyed several meals at The Next Course, and Carambola. Our favorites, when they are open, are El Quenepo, Trade Winds and Coconuts. In addition, we arranged for a catered, poolside Anniversary Dinner which was expertly executed by Alex and Glen of Aguacate Catering. It went well beyond our expectations. The entire week was very special and filled with memories my family will never forget. We loved Vieques and our stay at Journeys End. We can't wait to return. Thanks again. The Affoumado Family -NYC-

Our stay at Journey's End was wonderful. Bob and Peggy Ann thought of everything, from beach chairs and coolers to candles and wine glasses, to make our vacation easy and relaxing. I love to cook and the kitchen had everything I needed. The pool area is a great space for kicking back, day or night. We can't wait for our next trip!

WOW. I agree that pictures do not do this place justice. There was 11 of us, and we were never on top of eachother. The house is sprawling and SPOTLESS. So spacious and tasefully decorated, it made the hotel we stayed at on the remainder of our trip on the mainland disapointing. I can't say enough about how lovely this home is. Vieques is a special place and coming home to Journey's End was so comfortable it made our trip that much better. Thank you Karen for your attentiveness on the island, and thank you Bob and Peggy for sharing such a beautiful slice of heaven with our family. All the best, -The Gerena Family, NYC

I was fortunate enough to visit this property with the owner two years ago and knew as soon as I saw it that I would be back and bring my friends! We had a group of 12(no children)at Journey's End to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. I never thought that the home could get any better than when I first visited, but PeggyAnn and Bob managed to make Journey's End even more incredbile. The pool was a wonderful addition and appreciated by all after beautiful days at the beach. My friends continue to ask me when we can go back and we constantly laugh as we envision our days on private beaches, happy hours in local bars and delcious dinners both out at fun restaurants and poolside at the house. If you are looking for a rental on Vieques - your search stops here! A perfect blend of comfortable home with the feel of a resort. Enjoy your stay when you book it - I'm jealous that you're going!! Thanks PeggyAnn and Bob!

We had a great stay at Journey's End Villa. We were a party of 6 (4 adults and 2 children). The house is beautiful - the pictures do not do it justice. The outdoor shower was great! The pool/patio area is huge - a nice place to hang out in the evenings and grill. Great views from the balcony. It was a very quiet neighborhood within walking distance to Peter's restaurant for happy hour! The house manager was very nice to work with. We would stay again in a heart beat!

This beautiful home is a palace of a house!! Our family group of six adults enjoyed a wonderful week at Journey's End!! The photos do not do justice to this wonderful house!! There's everything and more one could possibly need. I even discovered a sewing kit when I needed to replace a button! There are beach chairs, beach toys, floaters, coolers, umbrellas, etc. everything needed for the pristine nearby beaches!! If you want to stay "home" and enjoy the house, there is a small pool and a beautiful patio area with an umbrella and lounge chairs. Overhead fans are in abundance and keep the house and outdoor patio comfortable. We all enjoyed the well equipped kitchen. Don't bother to bring reading material or games. There is an abundance in the "library"!! No need to bring a lot of clothes, either. A washer and dryer is very convenient! The owner's policy of "replace what you finish" was much appreciated. There was no need to immediately purchase laundry detergent, or condiments!! Journey's End is much more than a "rental" . It's a home where the owner's have just stepped out!! We highly recommend the island and Journey's End. We plan to return again and again!

I want to say thank you for sharing your beautiful home with me and all my friends. The pool was awesome getting up every morning making breakfast and hitting the pool!! We will defitnetly be back next year. Very much affordable and we have all said not to let this secret out that this is the best stay on the island so we don't give up our hideaway! I could not believe the beaches just minutes away, there was absolutely no one on these beautiful beaches! it was like having a private vacation with just our friends. Esperanza was the most fun with the locals teaching us to salsa dance.i could go on and on! thank you again for sharing your home with us!

Bob and Peggy Ann have created the perfect "get-away-from-it-all" vacation home. The Villa is amazing, comfortable, inviting, and fun! Our group included children age 8-11, young adults age 18-21, and those of us over 40...no matter what the age, everyone had the best week ever!! The unspoiled beaches and friendly people of Vieques made it a paradise that we long to get back to. Don't miss the Bio-bay at night, another unique experience on Vieques.

My only personal interest in this guest book comment is to describe exactly how we felt. What a fabulous getaway this is! We stayed at Journey's End from August 3rd thru August 10th and this Villa left nothing to be desired. It can easily accommodate 12 guests and my wife I had all the peace and quiet we could stand traveling with two teenagers, a 3 year old and a 10 year old. The pool was a blast for the kids after long, dreamy days at the beach and I personally enjoyed the delicious Mangoes plucked from the tree every morning. I'll never buy another mango from a US supermarket ever again in my whole life. This property is perfectly located between Isabel Segunda and Esparanza but was only 5 minutes away from our favorite beach on Vieques. This was truly one of those "secret" beaches on the Atlantic side of the Island. The views from the wrap around balcony are spectacular and we enjoyed them whenever possible. This home has everything you need for a great vacation. You simply show up and enjoy your days in paradise. We're already planning our next visit and won't need to look for any other place to stay. Our compliments to Bob and Peggy on a truly wonderful home. I would welcome calls from anyone who is considering renting this home for a great vacation.

Whether you are 2 people (as we were) or 12, this house is amazing and caters to your every need and desire. Our favoite spot is the outdoor kitchen/dining and we spent almost every moment there or in the pool! Every time we thought of something that we needed, we found it in the house! This was the most magnificent honeymoon that could ever be imagined...the island, the food, the ocean, the people, the relaxation and fun and most of all this truly incredible house with it's wonderful views and spacious comfort. We will be back!

My sister and her husband invited me to join them and their family for a week at Journey's End. I never heard of Vieques and actually had to google it. The house is breathtaking and completely furnished. Meticulously clean. I can't say enough about Karen, the caretaker and her quick response to anything we needed. .

We are so pleased with our stay at Journey's End from. Everything we needed for our stay was provided even for my 2 year old who used the booster chair and loved the beach toys. The views of Puerto Rico and Culebra were lovely from the balcony and the villa is centrally located on the island. I have already recommended this villa to friends and we just got home last week!

"Journeys End" is an absolutely fabulous villa!! It is elegantly decorated yet easily manageable. The owners have thought of everything from the fully stocked kitchen to plenty of beach towels and chairs. The views are spectacular ~ The pool and outside veranda are perfect for either a good read or a get together with friends. It is very convienently located (ten minutes to everything) ~ Vieques is a wonderful Island ~ The best beaches we have seen in a long time. This was our first visit and we will be back!! Thank you

We loved the house and Vieques!!! Bob and Peggy Ann seem to have thought of any comfort you could wish for -- from the plush towels to the extremely well stocked kitched and (our favorite) the outdoor shower. We enjoyed many days and nights cooking, relaxing by the pool and on the deck. I couldn't think of a more warm, welcoming home for any group of friends or family.

We spent a week at Journey's End and loved every minute of it. Our son was married nearby and the reception was in the outdoor dining/living room by the pool. It was perfect. The house itself is wonderfully open, breezy, simple, and full of amenities that made it a wonderful vacation retreat. The views from the balcony are gorgeous! Sun Bay, the biggest beach is a short and easy 10 minute ride - we went down every morning for a walk and a swim before breakfast. Heavenly.

We return to Vieques year after year for our family vacation and have rented different properties everytime. We can say with all honesty that we have found 'the perfect place' to stay while on Vieques. The home was perfect. The only problem we found with it was that the pictures on the internet did not do the home justice. The home was so clean and well taken care of. It had all the needs any family or couple would ever need. Karen was so helpful and waiting for us to arrive. We truly were so surprized at how great everything was. Since we have come home, we have told everyone that if they ever go to Vieques, we have the perfect rental property for them. The home could accomadate a very large group or a single family very comfortable. We plan on renting the property next year if Bob okay's it. In the planning of the trip we communicated with Bob a handful of times and he responded to all our emails and questions within 24 hours and that helped so much. If you need a reference for the home, please refer them to us. We would feel it a priviledge to recommend this property to anyone without hesitation. Thanks for the wonderful place to stay.

Taken from our Guest Book Thank you so much for opening your home to us. We had an amazing time in Vieques and your home indeed was a big part of it. We all enjoyed the villa. I must say your home inspired tranquility, peace, and happiness. My personal favorites were the kitchen, the book room and the outside shower... As you know I'm a travel agent and have done a bit of travel around the world and I must say that I love every detail of your home. From the match book inside a picture frame, the book selection, pictures across the villa and patterns on each room. I'm very happy that I bump into your website during my research. My entire family was very sad when it was time to go. We all reconnected and had a fabulous time. We also spend a week in Puerto Rico and at the end of the vacation we were all saying that we wish to have spend the 2 weeks in Vieques. Thank you again. We hope to be back some day....

We recently spent a wonderful week in Vieques at the Schwartz house. What a view they have! One can see much of Vieques as well as the islands across the water. The house is decorated with great taste but is also very comfortable. The bedrooms are all good size with plenty of bathrooms, including a fabulous outdoor bathroom. We had a wonderful time there and would definitely return to this great house and to Vieques.
