Loon Lodge is a fully equipped log home with fireplace in living/dining area lots of country charm. A deck overlooks a beautiful, quiet mountain lake. Newark Pond is approximately 3/4 mile long by 1/2 mile wide and offers great swimming, boating, fishing and loon watching. Loon Lodge is located on the north end. The south western shore of the lake is Nature Conservancy Land with hiking trails. The area is surrounded by dirt roads for bicycling and evening walks. The area is mostly summer cottages with a few full time residents. In winter, skiing is close by at Burke Mountain Snowmobiling is close by on the VAST trails. In the fall, great foliage and antiquing. Fireplace wood is provided for romantic evening fires. The home is constantly being updated. Beach chairs and picnic table are also provided. The kitchen has everything you will need along with some basic supplies. The breezeway provides an extra room for dining or playing cards and the garage is available.
Enjoy a beautiful mountain lake during every season. It is located 6 miles from Lake Willoughby and 10 miles from Island Pond. It a great place for all activities including relaxing. There are resident loons who will keep you occupied during the spring, summer and fall. There are moose and bear but are difficult to find but great to see if you are lucky. Kids will love the area. They can bike to Bald Hill Pond on a quiet dirt road and hike the area trails.
The home is directly on the water. There is a canoe and rowboat to use. Paddle over to the Nature Conservancy Land across the lake and hike the nature trails. If you bring your own boats or kayaks, there are many different lakes to explore. There are also boat rentals available at nearby lakes for great fishing.

About the owner: I fell in love with Loon Lodge at first sight going by in a kayak. It's been a true love story since. I teach college and spend as much of my time there but can't be in two places at the same time. I was sick during 2012 but will be renting again in 2013
