Property: The rental is a renovated Carriage House once used to house the horse caretaker. The rental is across the street from the Main house with plenty of privacy. The surrounding 250 acre property is private and undeveloped. There is a small farm with seasonal horses and cows. During the summer months cows graze some of the distant fields as well. My wife and I just returned from the perfect weekend getaway. We enjoyed some of Vermont's finest - Killington is less than 30 minutes away, Woodstock's fine shopping and dining is a short drive down a picturesque country road, and neighboring farms openly offer homemade maple syrup in addition to the traditional country fare. Needless to say, the setting is true Vermont! Margarete's property is equally remarkable. The spacious two bedroom carriage house is an ideal "home away from home" to enjoy cooking and eating while taking in the breathtaking countryside. Margarete's hospitality is genuine and a true reflection of her pride in ownership. Most certainly, we recommend her place as the authentic Vermont vacation.Did you find this review helpful? My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Carriage house immensely! It is very well cared for by a fantastic lady. It has a balcony overlooking fields and mountains. In fact its location is perfect for those who want to get away from it all and view the autumn leaves. The owner, Margarete, made our trip special by being a wonderful host and allowing us to explore the forest located on her property. I recommend it without reservation!
