Welcome to our chalet in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This privately owned chalet is aptly named "Cloudy Dreams" as it is situated high above Gatlinburg at 2380 feet yet it is only 5 minutes to downtown Gatlinburg. It has spectacular views of Mt. LeConte and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Our home is located just one street away from the park boundary gracing you with a truly awe-inspiring sight.
Spending your days in Gatlinburg is a snap when you stay in our chalet since it is only 2.6 miles from traffic light #10 and all the action on the "strip". Like to ski or snowboard? If so, our place is perfect, as it’s only 1.6 miles to Ober Gatlinburg and the ski slopes. Pigeon Forge is also easily accessible taking just 15 minutes using back roads to avoid traffic.
The best part is returning to the chalet at night. Weary from all the activities, but able to unwind in your own private lodge overlooking the mountains. When you rent our chalet, you will delight in the peace, solitude, and beauty that is the Smokies.
Our 2 King suite/3 full bath chalet sleeps 6 and with 1834 square feet to spread out in, the chalet is quite spacious. And don't forget to unwind on one of its two covered decks. The main level, and largest, one is unique in that it is angled making it appear to surround the view.
On the main floor, two couples will be very comfortable each in their own luxurious King suite with attached bathroom. They have a 27" TV and a large walk-in closet. Both bedrooms have a full wall of windows with a door to the deck allowing you to wake up and fall asleep with a view of the mountains.
Also on the main level is the laundry room, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and a great room with a gas fireplace made of stone. The great room has 2 extra large plush recliners and a sofa with 2 recliners to kick back in and watch the 32" TV that also graces this room. Like the bedrooms, the great room also has a full wall of windows with a door leading out to the covered deck and spectacular scenery.
Downstairs on the lower floor you will find a large game room complete with an Olehausen pool table and 60” TV to watch those football or basketball games on. Up for a game of cards? There’s a game table perfect for playing board games or a round of poker. We've supplied board games, books, and DVDs for your entertainment. We've provided things to do for our guests of all ages! On this level you’ll also find a queen-size sofa bed, a comfortable chair for relaxing in, and a bathroom complete with a shower.
Step out of the game room onto the lower deck. Here’s where you’ll find the hot tub to relax in. Yes, it’s private, but you’ll still be able to take in a view of the mountains.
When you stay with us you’ll have full access to three owner’s clubs. The closest one, which is 1.6 miles away, has a large outdoor swimming pool with two diving boards, a kiddie pool, two tennis courts, shuffle board, pool tables, ping pong tables, game tables, video game, and a playground. The clubs are open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Memorial Day through Labor Day. The tennis courts are open year round.

Why the Owner Chose Chalet Village
Prior to buying this chalet, we always rented a chalet that overlooked Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We just love all that is offered in Gatlinburg. We love the quaintness of shops in The Village, all the fine restaurants on the Parkway, and the Arts and Crafts Community out East 321. And, of course, nothing can compare to being so close to the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and all that it offers. So, for us, there really wasn't a big decision to make. We wanted to be in Gatlinburg very close to the Park and with a close-up view of Mt. LeConte. Someone must have been listening because we couldn't have found any place more perfect.

We are the Wheelers, and we are so honored that you're interested in spending your vacation at Cloudy Dreams. LD (yes, that's his real given name) and I (Cindy) have four children two of which are still at home and the other two of which have blessed us with 4 grandchildren. LD has worked with computers since the early 60s. He currently travels the world working as an IT Consultant. I am a nurse and work with sick babies in the NICU.
LD was born and raised in Nashville, TN and has lived all over the world. Cindy was born in Wilmington, DE and also lived in several places around the world while growing up. We began vacationing in Gatlinburg about 12 years ago and immediately fell in love with the area. We love the mountains and especially love the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. With each visit we talked more and more about owning a home here, but never really felt it would come true. After years of discussion, we finally came to the conclusion that life is way too short to wait around dreaming and decided to start looking for our mountain home. Many trips later we found a perfect chalet overlooking the park. We visit the chalet about 6 or 8 times a year. We just can't seem to stay away. We truly love this place and hope that you will, too.

We had a great family vacation in the beginning of December! The weather started out kind of rocky, but after it snowed it was gorgeous! What a view!! The house was perfect for our family of three + one four legged child. We will definitely stay at Cloudy Dreams when we visit Gatlinburg next time!!

My wife and I stayed four nights at Cloudy Dreams and it was incredible. We use VRBO for beach and mountain vacations often and we have never stayed at a place that exceeded our expectations to the degree that this chalet did. It felt like home. The chalet had personal touches that made you feel like you were a guest in someone's home. The view was incredible. Gas fireplace was wonderful on the cold nights. Furniture, beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything you need. Could not have asked for more and we will return often. And did I mention that our Golden Retriever loved it too.

Everything was just as described (even though we set the alarm off-sorry Cindy!). This was our 2nd visit and I certainly hope we can stay again. The bed was very comfortable, playing pool and watching the big screen TV was exciting, and relaxing in the hot tub was perfect.We enjoyed the snow as well. We would look forward to staying again.

This was our second time to stay at Cloudy Dreams during the Christmas holidays. As the first stay, this stay was absolutely wonderful. Very clean and had everything we needed as we did make homemade soup and grilled out, lots of dvd's and games, etc. LOVE the huge big screen downstairs! I love this property because, if you travel with another couple, each have their own full bath and king bed, as well as deck entrance, etc. To just press the button to start the fireplace was a treat -- so cozy. Being right there close to Ober Gatlinburg, there was no snow while we were there, but we did visit the area and check out the ice skating and, of course, had to buy some fudge!! Lots to do!!!

Best Vacation Ever

Staying at Cloudy Dreams was a vacation within itself. The chalet is beautiful and the nicest that I have rented in Gatlinburg. Everything was decorated beautifully and well maintained. The location was excellent and the view magnificant. I especially liked the view from the dining area and the bedrooms, where each couple had their deck area and a beautiful view. My nephews enjoyed having the lower level to themselves, yet everyone could get together for a game of pool and those not playing could watch DVD's. One day my husband and I stayed at the chalet to enjoy the quietness of the mountain and the wonderful view. The deck chairs were the perfect place to sit and just relax. They weren't the plastic furniture that you see on so many of the rentals. There was a hot tub, but we didn't use it eventhough it looked very inviting. Our last night there we had a bear in the yard and it stayed around for some pictures and seemed to enjoy relaxing there as well. That made the vacation for my nephews. My thought was thank goodness this chalet has really tall supports so the bear can't get us. I would recommend this chalet to others and will keep this on the top of my list for future rentals. The price was very reasonable and we they had everything that we could have wanted there for our use. We have some great memories from this stay and I thank Cindy for that as she sent coupons and information well before our trip so that we could plan out everything we wanted to do and where we wanted to go. I don't know how Cindy could have made it any easier, but I wish all transactions were as easy as the ones I had with her. It is so hard to find good rentals that allow pets, but there was even a mat and pet bowls.

We just returned from a wonderful week @ this cottage. The cottage is kept in pristine condition. The view is exactly (if not better) than it shows on the pictures. The chalet is in a very quiet location. We rarely saw or heard anyone (except for a bear lumbering down the street on occasion). We traveled with our two children and our cocker spaniel. Being able to travel with our 16 year old cocker was important to us and the Wheeler's are very pet-friendly. Though, you would never know any pets had ever stayed there by looking at the condition of the cottage. It was immaculate. There was enough room for everyone to have their own space to unwind. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing. And, sitting on the spacious back deck and watching the sun rise each morning was one of my favorite activities. There are plenty of movies, books, etc but the weather was so good that we didn't take advantage of those items. The chalet is close to town but far enough removed to feel miles away from tourists. We would definitely book this cottage again should we return to this area of the country for a visit. The owners are very accomodating and want to make your stay as pleasant as possible. It's well worth the visit!

A perfect family vacation

This was our first "real" family vacation experience, and we could not have asked for anything more. The chalet is absolutely perfect, with all the comforts of home, plus many more of course,and a view that is truly breath-taking. It is within minutes of just about anything you would dream of doing in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area - sight-seeing, shopping, the National Park, Ober Gatlinburg, Dollywood, etc. We are already planning our return trip next year! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect get-away.

This place was so clean and it contained everything you could possibly need when it comes to the little intricacies. We brought so many things that cabins don’t usually contain such as parchment paper, cocktail napkins, lots of spices, aluminum foil and on and on; however, this cabin had everything. I can’t even remember all of the little things that I just put right back in my car because they already had them. As for clean, the place was immaculate – you don’t wonder if someone cleaned it, it’s very apparent. The view, breathtaking!!!
