Spectacular Views with Perfect Set-Up - Six Years Running

We (two couples) are just completing our sixth April stay at Cloudy Dreams and would never consider a different property above Gatlinburg. We grill in the mountains (everything is here for you), we plan our days (everything is here for you - pamphlets, maps, books, etc.), we view wildlife (yep, again, it is all here), and each couple has our own separate king size suite with double vanities and tons of space in each walk in closet. Towels are always gloriously thick in ample supply, the hot tub is perfect and we have never stayed anywhere with such spotless housecleaning in preparation for our arrival. The owners are always providing upgrades to keep the property ship shape and a continuing pleasure for us. We are packing up for this year, but can't wait to return again.

We feel so lucky to have found your chalet! It was the cleanest, most organized home away from home that we have ever stayed in! The views are amazing and we really enjoyed taking them in on the large upper deck. The chalet feels like home in so many ways. The rooms are big and comfortable and we really enjoyed how you had decorated everything. We definately plan to stay with you again!

Cindy, I chose to rent Cloudy Dreams because I read such positive reviews from previous guests. So many other chalet's had negative reviews. From the first moment I walked in the door I was so glad we chose to stay in your home. You have gone out of your way to make your guests feel at home and everything was so clean! The view is even better than the pictures can tell--more beautiful than I expected. Your place thoroughly impressed this beach girl! We definitely want to return.

My wife and I stayed four nights at Cloudy Dreams and it was incredible. We use VRBO for beach and mountain vacations often and we have never stayed at a place that exceeded our expectations to the degree that this chalet did. It felt like home. The chalet had personal touches that made you feel like you were a guest in someone's home. The view was incredible. Gas fireplace was wonderful on the cold nights. Furniture, beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything you need. Could not have asked for more and we will return often. And did I mention that our Golden Retriever loved it too.

Everything was just as described (even though we set the alarm off-sorry Cindy!). This was our 2nd visit and I certainly hope we can stay again. The bed was very comfortable, playing pool and watching the big screen TV was exciting, and relaxing in the hot tub was perfect.We enjoyed the snow as well. We would look forward to staying again.

Cloudy Dreams

This was our second time to stay at Cloudy Dreams during the Christmas holidays. As the first stay, this stay was absolutely wonderful. Very clean and had everything we needed as we did make homemade soup and grilled out, lots of dvd's and games, etc. LOVE the huge big screen downstairs! I love this property because, if you travel with another couple, each have their own full bath and king bed, as well as deck entrance, etc. To just press the button to start the fireplace was a treat -- so cozy. Being right there close to Ober Gatlinburg, there was no snow while we were there, but we did visit the area and check out the ice skating and, of course, had to buy some fudge!! Lots to do!!!

December retreat

We had a great family vacation in the beginning of December! The weather started out kind of rocky, but after it snowed it was gorgeous! What a view!! The house was perfect for our family of three + one four legged child. We will definitely stay at Cloudy Dreams when we visit Gatlinburg next time!!

Best Vacation Ever

Staying at Cloudy Dreams was a vacation within itself. The chalet is beautiful and the nicest that I have rented in Gatlinburg. Everything was decorated beautifully and well maintained. The location was excellent and the view magnificant. I especially liked the view from the dining area and the bedrooms, where each couple had their deck area and a beautiful view. My nephews enjoyed having the lower level to themselves, yet everyone could get together for a game of pool and those not playing could watch DVD's. One day my husband and I stayed at the chalet to enjoy the quietness of the mountain and the wonderful view. The deck chairs were the perfect place to sit and just relax. They weren't the plastic furniture that you see on so many of the rentals. There was a hot tub, but we didn't use it eventhough it looked very inviting. Our last night there we had a bear in the yard and it stayed around for some pictures and seemed to enjoy relaxing there as well. That made the vacation for my nephews. My thought was thank goodness this chalet has really tall supports so the bear can't get us. I would recommend this chalet to others and will keep this on the top of my list for future rentals. The price was very reasonable and we they had everything that we could have wanted there for our use. We have some great memories from this stay and I thank Cindy for that as she sent coupons and information well before our trip so that we could plan out everything we wanted to do and where we wanted to go. I don't know how Cindy could have made it any easier, but I wish all transactions were as easy as the ones I had with her. It is so hard to find good rentals that allow pets, but there was even a mat and pet bowls.

great chalet in a great location = great vacation

We just returned from a wonderful week @ this cottage. The cottage is kept in pristine condition. The view is exactly (if not better) than it shows on the pictures. The chalet is in a very quiet location. We rarely saw or heard anyone (except for a bear lumbering down the street on occasion). We traveled with our two children and our cocker spaniel. Being able to travel with our 16 year old cocker was important to us and the Wheeler's are very pet-friendly. Though, you would never know any pets had ever stayed there by looking at the condition of the cottage. It was immaculate. There was enough room for everyone to have their own space to unwind. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing. And, sitting on the spacious back deck and watching the sun rise each morning was one of my favorite activities. There are plenty of movies, books, etc but the weather was so good that we didn't take advantage of those items. The chalet is close to town but far enough removed to feel miles away from tourists. We would definitely book this cottage again should we return to this area of the country for a visit. The owners are very accomodating and want to make your stay as pleasant as possible. It's well worth the visit!

A perfect family vacation

This was our first "real" family vacation experience, and we could not have asked for anything more. The chalet is absolutely perfect, with all the comforts of home, plus many more of course,and a view that is truly breath-taking. It is within minutes of just about anything you would dream of doing in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area - sight-seeing, shopping, the National Park, Ober Gatlinburg, Dollywood, etc. We are already planning our return trip next year! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect get-away.

Very Clean and Tidy

This place was so clean and it contained everything you could possibly need when it comes to the little intricacies. We brought so many things that cabins don’t usually contain such as parchment paper, cocktail napkins, lots of spices, aluminum foil and on and on; however, this cabin had everything. I can’t even remember all of the little things that I just put right back in my car because they already had them. As for clean, the place was immaculate – you don’t wonder if someone cleaned it, it’s very apparent. The view, breathtaking!!!

Owner response:I try to put little amenities in the cabin that I remember wanting in the cabins when we used to rent places prior to buying Cloudy Dreams. This property should be the model for VRBO . The Wheelers have blessed us with being welcomed into thier home. The attention to detail and massive imformation about the property and surounding area is amazing. You will need nothing upon arrival but your personal items.The rest has thoughtfully been provided. We have stayed at many properties and none have come close to the extra details provided by the Wheelers. After reading all the prior reviews I can only repeat thier praises of views amenities and more than accomodating owners. You will miss out if you do not take advantage of this gracious opportunity to treat yourself to such an awesome place to stay.Thanks for sharing your home with us as we had a blast!!

I'm a real information junkie myself - you know the one that reads all the brochures in the hotel room. Ha! So, we provide all sorts of brochures for area activities, park booklets showing hikes, trails, and drives, and a book of area restaurant menus. We couldn't say anything that wouldn't be a repeat of all the other outstanding comments here. The views are gorgeous, the chalet is very comfortable and well thought out, the attention to detail is excellent and Cindy is a very responsive and thoughtful owner. If you can't find what you need there, you haven't looked long enough because it's probably there somewhere. We had snow the first night (beautiful, especially the next morning), so we were "stuck" in the house until the next afternoon. This is a great place to be snowbound, but we're glad we got to see the Nat'l Park, stroll D/T Gatlinburg, visit Ober Gatlinburg by tram and just explore the whole area. While we only had the two of us, we plan to host a related family of four in the near future and will have no concerns for space or activities for the kids. We can cook anything, as Cindy has outfitted the kitchen with any pot, pan or utensil you could need. Finally, the views from the decks are truly better than the pictures. No camera could ever truly capture the beauty of the mountains from this home. Thank you Cindy and LD for what you've created and thank you for sharing it with us.

Dear Cindy, Thank you for taking such good care of us. The chalet was very beautiful and well kept. My family and I felt very at home and had a great time. The kids loved the pool table!!!! The view from the deck was breath taking and it was so cool to look down from the deck and see the deer prints left in the snow. We, of course, have many bear sitings which are always exciting, but I've also heard many guests talk about deer on the mountain, but I, personally, have never seen any. It's sorta like when people used to say there were no coyotes around, but I kept seeing them cross the road in front of the car at night. Ha! Now, just a couple of years later, you can hear them howling and calling to one another at night. Hopefully, one day I'll see the deer, but I'm happy to know that you saw evidence of them. Thoughtfully appointed with amazing views

The Wheelers' chalet was perfect for our family of five. The suites were spacious and relaxing, although our children (7, 8, and 9) spent most of their time in the gameroom downstairs, which was thoughtfully stocked with video games, DVDs, puzzles, books, and board games. We all enjoyed the hot tub on the deck outside at least twice a day during our stay and appreciated its proximity to the lower floor's bathroom for changing and toweling purposes! The entire chalet is beautifully decorated and was impeccably clean upon our arrival; we especially appreciated the wealth of area information Cindy has provided throughout the chalet - coupons for local attractions, local restaurant menus, directions to nearby groceries and scenic drives, etc. Cindy herself was an absolute joy to work with - extremely responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. We will absolutely book Cloudy Dreams again when we visit the Gatlinburg area in the future!

Cloudy Dreams Chalet

My husband and I stayed in this chalet for 8 nights and had a great time. It is well-maintained, clean and has a gorgeous view of Mt. LeConte. It is positioned on the side of the mountain nearest the Park Entrance and the view is out over the town of Gatlinburg and you can see Mt. LeConte off on the left. The Chalet is quite comfortably furnished and has every amenity that has come to be expected in this area. The owners are very responsible and their attention to minute detail shows in this chalet. We will be staying here again and I know that whatever season we choose to return, the chalet will be waiting for us to enjoy!

This home met our expectations and beyond. Cindy has thought of every detail down to the smallest. The home is very clean and well maintained. Cindy has provided plenty of information for the attractions nearby.We will recommend this home to our friends and relatives. We done some hiking at Laural Falls and visited Cades Cove along with shopping and some relaxation every evening in the hot tub. It was a great place to come back to after a long day. The deck was a great place to enjoy the sun rise and sun set while enjoying the home cooked meals. The one day we ate out was at the Old Mill and the food was wonderful. Thanks again Cindy for sharing your beautiful home!

I know that occasionally even I'll refer to the brochure basket for ideas on what to do when we're at the chalet. We also provide a book full of menus from area restaurants. That one also gets alot of use by us as well as our guests. Glad you had a good time while in town. The Old Mill is a great country style restaurant. What a dreamy place

My 1st reaction at Cloudy Dreams was WOW!! My husband & I frequently travel throughout the US & we have used VROB many times. We have always been happy with our rentals but this was above & beyond our expectations. The layout is superb, so much room in the living area & kitchen. The kitchen allowed us to prepare super meals, all kinds of pots/pans/serving dishes/utensils, everything you could want. Every night we ate on the deck overlooking the mountains, the views are unobstructed & beautiful.After enjoying dinner on the deck, we relaxed in the hut tub which also has unobstructed views of the mountains. Our biggest problem was falling asleep in the recliners each night. The chalet was immaculate & so well stocked. My husband had a nasty cut on his finger & the pantry had band aids waiting for him. Cindy outdid herself on the decorating, it took me 5 days before I didn't see something I hadn't noticed before. I could go on forever. Cindy was the most accomodating owner I have ever dealt with and I enjoyed emailing her daily about our adventures & also asking where she purchased some of the wonderful decorative items in the chalet. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Gatlinburg. Thanx Cindy

Cloudy Dreams

Cloudy Dreams was a true dream of a vacation house. We enjoyed eating our meals on the deck and watching the ever changing view of the mountains in the background. The home was clean, well stocked and maintained, one of the best we have stayed in. My parents enjoyed the handicap bathroom and how all the living space was on one level including the parking. All of us slept very well on the wonderful mattresses. I plan to purchase one like you have when we need to replace ours. We went to Cataloochee and saw 7 elk and several wild turkeys. Another day there was a young black bear not far from Cloudy Dreams as we headed out. We saw the beautiful flame azeleas and many other wildflowers as we roamed about the mountains. My mother and I checked out the quilt shops in the area and made several purchases that we can't wait to get started on. Late at night we relaxed in the hot tub and all of our sore muscles from hiking felt much better. We ate at the Old Mill in Pigeon Forge, Carver Apple House in Cosby, and grilled several nights on the deck. I would recommed this home to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation spot in Gatlinburg.

While the chalet isn't totally handicap accessible, it is very easy to access almost everything without having to go up or down any steps. Both king suites, the great room, kitchen, and main deck are all on the entry level with only the gameroom being down one flight on the lower level. We've had many people stay who have some difficulty getting around including my own mother. It sounds like you all were able to get out and about much of the area and really take in the beauty of the Smokies in the summertime. We look forward to having you stay with us again sometime soon. This place is so high up in the mountains that we were actually above the morning clouds our first morning there. We got up extra early Saturday morning to see the sun rise and the pictures we took are just amazing! It was like taking pics of heaven!!! Your chalet is close to everything and you have done a fantastic job of making our stay easy and relaxed. Your backroad directions were amazing as we went to Severville, Ober Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and of course DT Gatlinburg. We didn't have our kids on this trip so my husband and I and our friends Shauna and Brian just went with the flow and relaxed. It was just perfect!! The chalet is very spacious, clean, well decorated and sturdy! There are some chalets that made us feel a little uneasy because of how they are built, but yours is great! We will absolutely come back and stay here again! Is really is a "Cloudy Dream".....

Cloudy Dreams was by far the best chalet we have rented in Gatlinburg. The owners provided all the amentities you could possibly think of. We loved how it had two master bedrooms and the view from the deck was breath taking!! We enjoyed playing pool and would have loved the hot tub but we were being wimpy and didn't get in since it was 10 degrees outside!! It was a very clean and cozy chalet! We will definitely rent Cloudy Dreams in the future.

3 friends and I had a great "girls trip". We loved loved loved the home. The weather was not very cooperative the first morning so we couldn't see off the deck. We had a wonderful time in Gatlinburg last weekend and were very impressed with your chalet. It was extremely clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We cooked breakfast and dinner and enjoyed grilling out on the deck. The view from the decks is amazing. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! My husband commented that next time we'll have to stay longer and never leave the chalet!!

My family and my parents restned this cabin for a week - it was perfect. It had a wonderful view from the deck, and plenty of space. Everything we needed was there. We have an infant and a 2 year old, and there was plenty of space for the toys we brought.

Beautiful is the best word to describe your chalet. Our favorite time was sitting out on the balcony in the morning having a cup of coffee, watching the sunrise over the mountains. Beautiful view. Your home was perfectly clean and had all the comforts of home. You have thought out all the things that guests would enjoy. All kitchen items, bath items, guest info and to top it off comfort!! The lower level with the game room and hot tub were a hit in the evening! We were impressed and pleased 100% and have & will continue to recommend to others. We stayed in this wonderful chalet June 28-July 5th. It was everything & more the website indicated!! We especially appreciated the FULLY stocked kitchen as it allowed us to make all our breakfasts and dinners easily! The laundry room sure came in handy, too! Both upstairs bedrooms & bathrooms were so luxurious! And the ceiling to floor windows on the back wall of the living room gave us GREAT views! There's even a basket FULL of information on almost every possible thing to do in that area! Both decks quickly became our favorite place to view the BEAUTIFUL Smoky Mts, have meals, watch AWESOME sunrises, sunsets AND even Gatlinburg's 4th of July fireworks!!! Our 1st morning there I was sitting in the living room and happened to look out one of the windows. A BEAR came walking down the street right in front of the house! That was COOL!! My 2 sons and a friend loved the lower level pool table & BIG widescreen tv! We all loved using the hot tub on that level's deck while viewing the mountains! Cloudy Dreams provided us a "home base" to many wonderful adventures while we were there. We went to Cades Cove and saw a mama bear & 3 babies there, hiked to Laurel Falls, Ober Gatlinburg (GREAT, panoramic mountain views at the top there!), Miracle Theatre (FABULOUS!!!) & Dollywood. Thank you, Cindy & family for sharing your WONDERFUL chalet with us! We will surely be back the next time we come back to Gatlinburg! I HIGHLY recommend this chalet!!!

Cloudy Dreams is like going to stay at a friend's house. We found it to be very family user friendly. There was no problem in managing a 3 and 1 1/2 year old in the chalets comfortable setting. The bedrooms were spacious to allow for a twin blowup mattress in one and an infant bed in another. We would be pleased to recommend Cloudy Dreams to anyone looking for a family oriented retreat.

My husband a I met our best friends at the chalet for the weekend, we had a wonderful time. The chalet was very clean (which is a BIGGIE), and the decor really added to the mountain feel. It is perfect for two couples because each bedroom has it's own bath and they are on opposite sides of the house. Our plans were just to relax and just spend time with friends, and this turned out to be the perfect place to do so. Overall great experience

While we get down to the chalet to work around the house anywhere from 6 - 10 times a year, the real credit goes to the couple that cleans our house. They do a fantastic job and we're very grateful to have them! I know that when we used to look for a place to stay, we always looked for King suites. We would visit Gatlinburg once a year with my parents and it could be difficult to find two Kings in a two bedroom, so that was one of the things I looked for when we went to buy a place. We stayed at Cloudy Dreams 1/8/09-1/12/09. We loved it! Our kids (2 yrs and 4 yrs) especially liked the "play room". We were all very impressed by the spacious, relaxing setting of this chalet. We experienced the fake snow at Ober and were surprised with a decent, real snow shower on Sunday morning! We would definitely recommend this chalet to anyone planning a trip to Gatlinburg.

This past summer my 16 yo daughter and her best friend really enjoyed skating at the indoor ice rink and sliding down the alpine slide. Unfortunately, we've never gone skiing up there. It's still on my to do list. I'm glad the kids got to see at least a little bit of real snow. I know being from MS that they must have really enjoyed that! Hi, we have just spent a wonderful time at Cloudy Dreams over the Christmas holidays. What a lovely chalet it is, really home from home. Unfortunately we didn't see any snow while we were there (which was one of our main purposes for going because our children like to snowboard), but it didn't ruin our vacation by any means - in fact for me it made it better, I couldn't imagine trying to drive up those steep mountain roads in the snow!! We didn't get to see any bears (not in the wild, but we did at Ober Gatlinburg), but we did see turkeys and lots of different birds which was a delight. Our dogs thoroughly enjoyed themselves particularly Buddy our Cocker Spaniel who absolutely loved the chilly weather - he acted like a puppy again! The chalet and it's amenities were far better than the website portrayed and beat our expectations. I would most definitely recommend Cloudy Dreams to anyone wishing to visit the Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg.

We just stayed 5 days at Cloudy Dreams and I have to tell you it was way beyond our expectations. It was super clean and comfortable and lacked for nothing! Everything was top-notch Grade-A - including the Christmas Tree which was a very pleasant surprise. We were all in bad need of some R&R on this trip, and because Cloudy Dreams was so magical, that's just what we got! We spent most of our time on the deck and got some incredible photos. Our only disappointment was that we didn't see a bear, but we're almost positive we heard one growl early one morning! Thank you, Cindy and L.D., for sharing your second home with us. We will definitely book again...actually, we may never book any place else! P.S. If you ever need (note I did not say "want") to sell Cloudy Dreams, we want first dibs!

Cindy & LD - Thanks for the use of your beautiful home. The pictures on the website don't do it justice and view is incredible. We had absolutely wonderful weather while we were there and spent considerable time on the deck. The sunrises in the morning were spectacular and we had a full moon every night as well with cloudless skies. Our son LOVED the games, books, and Nintendo on the lower level. It kept him (and us) busy. It was nice to relax in the hot tub after a long day of walking in town. This trip was the first time we were ever able to actually see the other peaks when we drove up to Clingman's Dome. We were on the lookout for bears, but the only wildlife we were able to view was a flock of wild turkeys one evening. Out of all of our trips to the Smokies over the years (at least a dozen), this was by far the best place we have stayed when you consider location, amenities, and layout. We hope to stay again on our next trip and possibly bring along our dog - she would've loved the place!

Cindy and LD, What a beautiful Chalet. We had a great time riding motorcycles around TN; we rode 518 miles in four days. Coming back, after a long bike ride, to a shower, hot tub, shooting pool and that monster TV. WOW what a way to spend a vacation. We were up before sunrise every day and the view really lets you know this is truly God's creation. You have done a beautiful job decorating the chalet, it feels like home. Like you have been there before and definitely want to come back to. The ride in on bikes was great, maybe a little tough for flatlanders. We came in both ways and found them both easy to do. Cynthia, Thank you so much for the stay. It was lovely!! We saw a three hundred pound Black Bear. He was something. The View was outstanding! - but you know that. All of us were very comfortable and would like to come back. The most important thing for us was the Handicapped accessible and my husband did not feel he was giving up anything. Also, the dogs - who by the way were very good and had a great time. We made most of our meals. I think we ate out once. The kitchen was very well stocked and we are all cooks so that was great. Everything was easy. I liked the door lock - boy was that convenient. I have not been there in 24 years. My mother took me when I was 19 and I fell in love with the place. We purchased art and went around that stretch. Also we used your directions in the scrap book (nice work) to find the scenic drives. The rest of our group went to see Dolly's wonderland. We wanted to see the mountains. There was truly something for everyone! The Aquarium was Fantastic - We still cannot believe what we saw. Thank you and I hope to book again.

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at Cloudy Dreams. Thank you, Cindy, for all of the printed directions and especially the back-ways to get around town and such...that was extremely helpful! The chalet was everything we expected and MORE! The pictures just don't do it justice. It is so clean and very nicely decorated. The view was absolutely gorgeous and it was wonderful being so close to the Smoky Mountains National Park! We enjoyed our Roaring Fork auto tour and other Park adventures very much! We also got to see a mother black bear and her three cubs just walking in the backyard into the wooded area! That was how our trip started and things only got better from there!!! Access to Ober Gatlinburg to use the air tram to go into town and back up was awesome! Gatlinburg shopping was alot of fun and good exercise for us all. The kids (ages 7 and 14) absolutely loved the game room with all it had to offer! They were never short on things to do. The children also enjoyed having access to the clubhouse and swimming pool. Thanks for making this such a memorable vacation for my family! My daughter at one point in the trip asked if she could call the chalet "home" until we returned to our real home in South Carolina. That's quite an accomplishment when visiting Gatlinburg especially when it was the first time you'd stayed there instead of Pigeon Forge. As you know I followed you into the cabin, but I still didn't get to see the momma bear and her three cubs. I was so disappointed! I hope to get back down there in a few weeks. Maybe then? I hope! Cindy & LD Thank you so much for sharing your chalet with us. The accomodations were perfect and the views were spectacular. We could not have asked for a better experience. Enjoyed you movie collection pool table and the peacefull views from the deck. We only regret that we had to leave early because my mother was ill. She is getting better now. Look forward to returning in the future to enjoy the smokies. PS Please thank your neighbor for being so thaughtfull for showing up at the door with some fresh trout he had just caught that morning. The website does not do justice to your chalet, it was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed every part of our stay from the spectacular views to the pool table. We were also got to enjoy a March snowfall while we were there. We hope that we get to return soon.

The best part about those late ones is that it's beautiful when the snow is falling, but it soon melts allowing you to see those early spring flowers poking their heads up.
