I have wanted to visit Belize for as long as I can remember. I'm delighted to say that it was everything I'd hoped for and more. My month long stay at Decked Out House was like a home away from home. The owners, Linda and Charlie were extremely helpful from the time I first inquired about my trip via email to my departure from this paradise, going above and beyond to make my entire stay comfortable and enjoyable. The staff, were friendly, helpful and very accommodating in every way. The house itself is filled with rich mahogany, delightful decorations, and warm touches throughout. It has many windows on all sides that were open to the gentle caribbean breezes at all times, making air conditioning a un needed thing. It is situated in the ideal spot, in a quiet neighborhood, just outside Placencia Village, but close enough to walk to the shops or the beach. Linda has equipped the house with everything you need to live and play, including kayaks, bikes and a canoe. The water off the dock, just outside the front door is clean, warm and perfect to cool yourself on a hot afternoon. The view from the decks that surround the house can take your breath away. With the ocean, the lagoon, the canals, the mountains, the sunrises on one side and sunsets on the other, and everything in between... life is very good in Placencia. I will definitely be returning and definitely be staying with my new friends at Decked Out House!

Owner response:The neighborhood around Decked Out House is a friendly place. Lori was nice enough to help another guest organize a small party that celebrated her birthday party, which took place on house's dockside front deck. Word of the special day got around. Upon arrival of cheerful participates, Dan, the next door neighbor, sounded a surprise trumpet performance of "Happy Birthday". Thanks Dan, Lori and Birthday Ruth for the fun and great memory.

I loved the Decked Out House! A group of 9 friends rented the whole Decked Out House for a weekend getaway. We were amazed at all the rooms we kept discovering. We were so enthralled with how beautiful it was that some of us literally sang from the top deck roof. The house was absolutely beautiful both inside and out! The setting between the two canals makes for a beautiful view of the sunrise and sunset over the lagoon and mountains off in the distance. The rooms were very clean and so comfortable. The furnishings and woodwork were lovely. The house-keeper was very nice and accommodating. The house was well stocked with convenient appliances. The price was very affordable. I wish we had the time to stay for a whole week. I wished I could have spent an hour on every porch deck because of the many different beautiful perspectives the house offered. The whole house is a great place to stay for a large family, for a family reunion, or for a group of friends. A couple could also stay in one of the apartments or rooms for a romantic getaway. I would recommend the Decked Out House to anyone!

We rented the studio on the first floor for a month with Linda. The place was just perfect. It had everything we needed and if there was anything lacking the staff was more then willing to accomodate us and our needs. Linda was a pleasure to deal with and the views were spectacular. This was a great find for us!

I was lucky to win a week at Decked Out House at an aution in Linda and Charles (the owners) home town. My husband and I took three other couples and we had so much fun. The house was perfect and we had the best vacation. We got great help with what we should do with our time and where to eat. The bikes were a really hit too and the kyaks.

We LOVED the house! It was perfect! We kept saying, "wouldn't this be fun with family or friends?" I hope we can come back someday. Malcolm was a wonderful resource. He answered all our questions and linked us with Junior who took us snorkeling and fed us like kings for two days. Once we got to Placencia and saw the other housing options, we knew we had made the best choice. This is truly a wonderful place.

For nearly two weeks I called Placencia my holiday & thedeckedouthouse home. This house is truly a fantastic place to simply hang out on one of several decks & take in the simple relaxing lifestyle. My husband and I stayed at the Decked-Out-House in January. I would rate this rental as a four star accommodation. The owners are very friendly and provided a lot of good ‘local knowledge’ to help us get around. The house has so many windows that views were spectacular day and night on each side of the floor we stayed. There were also glass French doors leading to the huge deck on two sides of our unit. We were so impressed with the workmanship, beautiful wood floors and other beautiful wood used in the furniture. The home also had many special, unique and creative touches such as tiles, motifs and some fancy faucets. The overhead fans and shutters are adjustable to allow for breezes and cooling if desired. Since we stayed two weeks, we were pleased to have laundry facilities on the premises.We would not hesitate to return and stay again at the Decked-Out-House.

Linda and Charlie (owners of Decked Out House) were extremely helpful and friendly and made our stay at the "Decked Out House" a comfortable and fun experience. 3 of us stayed on the third floor "Palm Suite". The place is absolutely gorgeous and extremely spacious. The decks are excellent places to hang out and watch sunrises or sunsets. We had a ton of fun riding the complimentary Cruiser bikes into town (about a 5 minute easy ride to the furthest point at the end of town) I can't say enough good things about the place. If you're contemplating staying there, I say do it without hesitation. It was the best place we stayed in Belize!

What a wonderful place! The house is just perfect and I love the decor. I would recommend Decked Out House to anyone. It has a lovely open-air feeling to it with all the French windows and doors and there is always a gentle cooling breeze flowing through. I loved waking up in the morning to take my coffee - and relaxing in the evening - on the decks overlooking the water. It is all sooooo peaceful. There are bikes to ride and a house canoe to explore with and the beach is a very easy, short walk. Many thanks also to Patty, the house manager, for being so friendly and helpful. Decked Out House exceeded our expectations. It is a charming place that combines a sense of luxury with relaxed, inviting, summertime ambience. The views from the decks are lovely and lounging on them is a lovely way to spend some quiet, peaceful time. I enthusiastically recommend Decked Out House. The staff is great too!

The decked out house was an incredible experience. The quality of construction was impressive and nearly unheard of in Central America. The location is perfect, Splash Dive Shop picks you up at the house for excellent diving. WE WERE IMPRESSED! Thanks James, Linda, & Patty!

The group I travelled with was a family who adopted me for the week. We are actually neighbors and friends. I rented the apartment below the main house and was afforded the best of all worlds by having all the privacy I neeeded yet full access to join the group upstairs whenever I wanted. The downstairs apt had easy access to the dock and areas outside for lounging and my favorite, morning tea in the adirondack chairs. This is a lovely place for small or large groups. I highly recommend it.
