Amazing Place!

My wife and I and our 1 year old son came and stayed here for 4 weeks. Patti is very easy to work with and is very prompt with correspondence. Everything was what she said it would be. Her condo is wonderful and everything is finished out nicely. It was great having a full kitchen. We cooked a lot of our meals there to save some money. There are also gas grills down by the pool which work great. Patti's condo is loaded with plenty of towels and sheets if you ever need extra. The resort also allows you to check out up to 6 of their beach towels per day which is nice having. The room also has a washer and dryer which made it easy for us to wash our clothes, sheets, and towels whenever we needed to. This condo also has a closet full of sand toys, boogie boards, coolers, a beach umbrella, pack'n'play bed for our son, etc. which was a great bonus to have. Everyone on staff at this resort was friendly and very helpful. The beach area is beautiful, but, like others have said, its not really swimmable. The pool area at the resort is awesome. And, there are loads of beaches that you can go swimming at just down the street in either direction. There are lots of great restaurants close to this resort. We went to Kapaa a lot to eat and hang out. There is also a great and inexpensive all you can eat fresh breakfast buffet right next door at Bobby V's. There are 2 different grocery stores literally right across the street. My parents, my brother, and my aunt all came out to stay with us the 2nd week we were there. They said the guest bed was very comfortable. The fold out couch bed is not comfortable, but, my aunt made a pallet out of the couch pillows with a sheet on top and it worked out great. Even with all of us there, we still had plenty of room, and plenty of sheets and towels. The location of this resort is perfect. There are beautiful beaches close by, and you can drive north to Hanalei Bay/Tunnels/Anini/Ke'e Beaches in a little over half an hour. That whole area is amazing. You can also head south to Poipu Beach (our favorite) or surrounding areas in about half an hour or go explore Waimea Canyon which is about a 45 minute drive away. The island of Kaui must be explored and this resort is in a perfect location to explore the whole island. All this to say, my family had a wonderful time on Kauai staying at the Waipouli Beach Resort in Patti's condo. You can't go wrong with this place. Thanks so much, Patti!

Owner response:It is always a pleasure to receive great reviews. Brad also gave me a heads up on some needed improvements. The Vacuum has been replaced and the sofa mattress has also be covered with memory foam. He also replaced the DVD and I immediately sent him a check. I appreciate always hearing about any improvements needed. We also replaced some pans when another guest told us of the need. It is hard to know of the needs when we live in Colorado, but our great guests have truly helped us out. Thanks all of you!

We had a great time in this condo. It was a perfect resort for small children. The condo is very clean and comfortable. There's a whole closet full of water rafts, inner tubes, boogie boards, sand toys, etc. My two year olds loved the small sandy pool area and my four and six year old loved the waterslides. No one wanted to leave the resort! The location is very convenient and there's two grocery stores and some restaurants across the street too.

Perfect Vacation Spot

Date of Stay: 06/30/11 Review Submitted: 07/13/11

We just returned home yesterday after eleven nights in Kauai at the Waipouli Resort in this condo. Patti, the condo was perfect for our visit! The condo was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable! We had everything we needed to cook meals and even enjoyed several dvds after long days at the beach. We enjoyed Kauai to the fullest - visiting many beaches including Ke'e, Tunnels, Anini, Keilia, Poipu, Lawai, Brennecke, and more. Snorkeling at Lawai and Ke'e was great as was boogie boarding at Brennecke. We even snorkeled with a turtle at Lawai which was quite a treat. We kayaked the Wailua River, visited Kipu Falls, Wailua Falls, and Secret Falls. All were so pretty. The Waimea Canyon drive was spectacular. We enjoyed the pool at Waipouli Resort after funfilled days. We were on the Waipouli Beach for local fireworks and to view the city fireworks from afar which was fun. Everyone at Waipouli was extremely nice and helpful. The location of Waipouli was perfect because we were fairly close to the north and south locations we wanted to visit. It was an easy drive to both ends and we made trips to both ends numerous times. Having Safeway across the street was great since we could walk over for food. We also utilized Costco (near the airport) for food purchases. Restaurants close to the condo that we enjoyed were Verde, the Fish Hut, and Brick Oven Pizza. The fish tacos at Verde are excellent! We would recommend this condo to everyone. Having the air conditioning was great after a day outside in the sun! Patti, thank you, too, for all your assistance with info on the area and allowing us a late checkout. Your quick replies with every question prior to booking were a huge help, too. Thank you again. The Wogenrich Family

Owner response:It is such a joy to meet so many nice guests. From the initial inquiry to the final correspondence, I have developed many life long friendships. We appreciate the care our guests have taken of the condo and strive to meet all needs that arise.

Convenient location made it for us.

Our family of four stayed 11 nights in this unit and enjoyed everything it had to offer. Prior to our arrival, we understood that our view would be of The Sleeping Giant as well as Highway 56 and the shopping center beyond. Fact was, we also new we would be away from the resort alot of the time visiting the various points of interest, being at the beach, taking a sunset cruie, etc., so the view from the room wasn't a huge concern of ours. Most mornings after preparing my breakfast, I sat eating it at the balcony table while natives and tourists passed by on the highway and made their way in and out of the shopping center. Last year we stayed at the Hanua Kai on Maui. The nearest shopping center was about a 10 minute or so walk. Here, Safeway is right across the street from the resort entrance, which is great if you plan to cook meals in. We arrived a bit early and caught the cleaners still there, so we strolled to the beach behind the resort. As many have mentioned, it's not really the greatest place for swimming, so we never made it back out there. The pool had plenty of room to accommodate the number of people while we were there, but I did noticed that one day folks were not able to find seating. The "lazy river" is not really a "river", rather a snaking waterway. In other words, the water doesn't have motion to draw you from one end to the other. Nonetheless, we enjoyed it and the four waterfalls as well. Our 10 and 5 year olds couldn't get enough of the slides. The grounds were constantly being manicured and cleaned. We slept great every night in the comfortable beds. FYI-keep all the doors completely closed when using the air conditioning, otherwise it will not turn on. The kitchen and amenities were great outside of the need for a few updated pans. It was great to have body boards to use. My son and I had a great time at a few different beaches using them. The location conveniece: We traveled to the Northern and Southern beaches, up to both falls, up to the top of Waimea Canyon, Kilohana Plantation, Kauai Kanuna Farm, Ahonui Botanical Garden, Spouting Horn, out for meals, etc. This location allowed us the best access to both ends of the island. My wife and I were in Poipu 14 yrs. ago. There are many more buildings there now, so we felt staying in Waipouli gave us an advantage. Thank you Patti for a great stay. I will definitely recommend your unit. Perhaps we'll visit again in another 14 yrs. to see the changes. Mahalo!

Great condo in Kauai

We loved this condo and the resort. Located right in the middle of the island, so easy going north or south, but great pool area made it easy to want to stay and lounge at the resort. The kitchen is the nicest of any condo I've ever stayed and making eating in a pleasure. Owner could not have been any easier to deal with. Thank you!

Owner response:We always appreciate our guests taking the time to write a review of our property. We have had wonderful guests who have treated our condo as if it was their own. Thanks to you all.

The condo was fantastic 2 beds, 3 baths. The location was perfect for seeing the entire island. The owners were very accommodating with our late departure from Kauai. The condo was equipped with high-end appliances, tons of towels and nice comfy beds with plenty of pillows. The resort does have a beach but it really isn’t swimable. However, take a walk along the shoreline and look for sea glass. Make sure to stop by the homeowner’s office to get the code to the pool. There’s a Safeway and other grocery store behind the McDonald’s. We found prices cheaper at the one behind the McDonald’s. Just ask for a membership at either to get your best deals. Longs drugs is across the street. Good prices on wine. If you like fresh tuna, you can find it in the seafood section fresh, don’t by the pre-packed in the case. The Safeway seafood section closes by 8pm so pick up something before then. Kapaa is within walking distance however we stopped on our way to Hanalei and Kee beach. Make sure to check out the lighthouse. If you are going during the winter, expect some cooler evenings and a decent breeze. Make sure to go to the canyon and stop by the brewery on the way…great beer. We enjoyed our trip and would rent this unit without hesitation.
