Half Moon Bay House is the nicest and most luxurious villa for rent in West End, and the only one on the beach. It is beautifully furnished and decorated, and you can rent all or part of it. We also book the other four Coral Vistas villas, so just inquire here and take your pick from all that are available.
Yes, you can have it all! Located in Coral Vistas, directly on the beach on Half Moon Bay, this house has amazing wraparound ocean views in every direction, is quiet and private, has its own pool, and is just a block from the center of town. With all this it has become the most desired vacation rental on Roatan, with dozens of positive reviews to read at the bottom of this listing.
This is a new luxury villa, with central air, backup generator, granite countertops, hardwood cabinets, hardwood and tile floors and trim, Egyptian cotton sheets, wireless Internet, cable TV, and many other amenities--see the complete list of features below. With 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, fully equipped gourmet kitchen, breakfast bar, gas barbecue, living and dining rooms, spacious shaded veranda with outdoor living and dining areas and infinity pool; you can truly make this your place in paradise.
With this central beachfront location, just a block or two from dive boats and restaurants, you do not need to rent a car, though you easily can. Our rates include air conditioning, sea kayaks, cell phone, meeting you at the airport, and weekly cleaning, so it’s a great value.
There are three master bedroom suites, each with a king or queen bed, direct ocean view, private balcony, and private full bath. The fourth bedroom has a twin and queen beds, ocean view and balcony, and is next to the fourth bathroom. The house can be rented as a 4BR house, or two of the bedrooms can be locked out making it a 2BR house, or you can rent the whole house with the king master bedroom for a couple (fall only). There is also an optional inflatabed, so the house can easily sleep 10 people comfortably.
Two of the best restaurants in town and a boat dock are just steps away. Walk a block to the main street and you are in the center of town, with a taxi stand, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, dive shops, and gift shops right there. Maid service and a cook are available--just let us know what you need. We love Roatan, and this home, and can answer any questions you have.
Note: The calendar shows availability for all five Coral Vistas Villas. Between them one is almost always available. They are all virtually identical to the Halfmoon Bay House; all oceanfront, 4BR/4BA, with pools, and we book them all. Call or email to us here to find out if the Half Moon Bay House and any of the others are available for your dates; there is no need to inquire on all the villas individually.
REGARDING THE POLITICAL SITUATION IN HONDURAS:
A negotiated solution to the political situation on the mainland seems to be in place. During the entire "crisis", Roatan has remained totally normal; and has been quiet, enjoyable, and totally safe. There have been NO demonstrations whatsoever in Roatan, and tourism on the island has been completely unaffected. Airlines flights and cruise ships have been arriving as scheduled all summer and fall, so there is no reason not to come and enjoy!

Why the Owner Chose West End
Hi I'm Johann Robbins. My wife Alice and I own the Half Moon Bay house with our friends Todd and Maura Demko. Alice and I live in Boulder, Colorado, and travel to Roatan whenever we can get away, usually several times a year. We have travelled and dove all over Mexico and Central America and wanted a place we could return to again and again. Alice and I had bought a lot to build on in Caye Caulker, Belize, but soon after on our first trip to Roatan we found this villa, and we knew it was what we were looking for. Actually Todd dragged us over to it, i thought it was way too expensive for us to look at, but we sold the lot and this is our vacation home now. Roatan and especially West End are still laid back, friendly and a nice kind of funky, and as we enjoy places that are not yet like everywhere else, it is perfect for us. And the diving is fantastic, really varied and fun (and not too expensive) so we can dive a lot.
The Unique Benefits at this Luxury House
What we love most is being surrounded by water (if the house were any closer it would be a boat) yet so close to everything. Sitting outside is so sweet: the picture postcard turquoise water, the fragrant flowers and sea, the happy sounds of birds and small waves. We love having two good restaurants next door, they are like family, and the variety of other places we can walk to. We almost never rent a car when we are there, just hang out, dive, kayak, snorkel, sit by the pool and watch the clouds or the sunset over the bay. It is very easy to stay there, we can get everything we need within a block or two, or have the manager stock the fridge and larder before we come, which they will do for you too.

The cluster of buildings to the right and along the water is West End Village. The water is so clear you can almost see the fish on the reef!

My family and I rented one of your villas on Half Moon Bay in the beginning of August and we had a great time. We explored a large portion of the island on our own with a rental vehicle and visited several very unique places. We enjoyed talking with the local people and never found there to be any problems or issues. We saw several road blocks but by showing our passport and rental car information, the police were very polite and we never had any reason for concern. We felt very safe and never felt that there was any type of "unrest" on the island. Actually, it was quite to the contrary. We learned that the news media in the US perhaps had not fully reported all the facts or the complete story regarding the changes in the local government. We wouldn't have any problem recommending travel to Roatan. We would return without hesitation. This was the second visit to Roatan for me and my husband, and a first visit for the rest of our family. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip, and again, you all did a great job for us. We hope this helps. It would be a shame if people would hesitate visiting Roatan due to misinformation.

If you are wondering about the one negative comment, it dates back to March of 2007, a few weeks before we got the backup generator. A guest was understandably upset that they didn't have power during a week when there were several major outages, but they used inappropriate language to express it. The power has been fine since then; there are fewer and fewer outages, and the generator works seamlessly when it goes out.
