The pictures just can't capture how beautiful the property and the view really are. Owner met us on arrival for quick overview and we had no questions after that...very well explained with helpful documentation in the house where needed (e.g. fireplace operations). Original artwork throughout the house, very clean and well equiped. Would definitely recommend this property for a family or couples getaway vacation.

What a fabulous place to stay when visiting this area!!! Patricks Point State Park is right down the road, the Redwood Forrests are all around the area, and the town and beaches around the Trinidad area were just some of the highlights of our travels. Do not miss the Farmers Market in Arcata for a "down to earth" good time! Returning to the cozy and very comfortable Abalone Cove at the end of each day of sightseeing; to watch for spectacular sunsets, relaxing in the jacuzzi, watching and listening to the sea lions and other native critters, and making our own home cooked meals(if we wanted to) or ordering in pizza, were some of the cherries on top of this marvelous sundae of a vacation.

We stayed here that memorable weekend when the the temperatures at night were in the upper 20's! The hot tub was our savior! Kitchen is well stocked with the durable pantry necessities like spices, oil, foil, etc. House is clean, uniquely decorated, very very private, and just perfect for a long weekend with friends.

Thank you for such a beautiful home. We had a relaxing time waking each morning to the sea lions, hiking down to the beach below and finishing every day soaking in your wonderful hot tub. We had time to explore all the northcoast has to offer...hiking & horseback riding through the redwoods, kyaking & swimming in Big Lagoon. You have truly created a work of art in this house & the gardens that surround it....we had a very satisfying vacation here. Thanks so much! Brian

This is our second year to stay at Abalone Cove and our plan is to return each year for some true rest and relaxation. The area has endless outdoor activities and Abalone Cove offers beautiful gardens, modern amenities and privacy. Not only is the home clean and the gardens lush, but there is hardly a detail that is not attended to. Be sure to schedule some time to relax and enjoy the home, its grounds and vistas. This is a little piece of paradise that we are so grateful to Curtis for maintaining and sharing.

We have stayed at Abalone Cove for eight years, usually twice a year. Every time we arrive we marvel at the beauty and comfort of the house and ocean setting. With a very well equipped kitchen, we are content to stay and enjoy the comforts if we decide to stay close. With Patricks Point State Park less than a mile away and your own personal trail to the beach below the house you don't need to drive anywhere to experience the beauty of the north coast. The owner, Curtis is helpful and generous, making your stay a pleasant experience. Soaking in the hot tub, overlooking the ocean is an experience we recommend. When we want a relaxing escape from the rigors of working, we always think of Abalone Cove.
