Walk to The Grove Park Inn from this charming stone cottage nestled in the trees. Whether you choose to relax in front of the fire or sip wine on the spacious deck, you'll appreciate the intimate atmosphere the cottage affords.
Meander the pathways of the lushly landscaped grounds pausing on a bench to watch the family of wild turkeys nest in the pine trees. Cozy up in the hammock and enjoy a book or maybe even a nap. You'll find all the amenities of seclusion while being minutes from everything downtown Asheville has to offer.
The cottage has a completely renovated kitchen with all new cabinets, tile floors, countertops, and appliances! We've updated the cottage and now offer 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Upstairs enjoy the living room/dining area, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, bathroom and large deck. Downstairs you'll find a large TV/Den, bedroom, bath with laundry and large screened porch.
Much attention has been given to details: comfortable furniture, including pillowtop beds with luxurious linens, and a fresh and inviting decor - all in a charming Grove Park neighborhood.

Ivy Cottage - Cozy Retreat Near Downtown, Deck
Year Purchased: 2006
Why the Owner Chose Asheville
The Grove Park area is a wonderful older area of Asheville. It is only 2 miles to downtown, and close to grocery stores, shopping, theatres, UNCA, etc. It is located in a great area for walking/jogging, and biking.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
Some of the features of the cottage, other than the great location, are the deck - I love sitting out with friends or having coffee in the swing in the morning - the hammock, walking around the neighboorhood, and gardening in the spring. I love sitting by the wood burning fire on chilly winter mornings. The cottage is so charming and cozy, I just enjoy getting away even though I live in Asheville, and escaping to the simplicity and comfort it offers.
The Loft at 51 at College - vrbo # 175090 and The Loft at 35 Patton - vrbo # 125582 Both are 2 bd/2bth beautifully and comfortably furnished lofts in the heart of downtown. Park and walk to everythi
Great place to stop on your way in for organic foods/great deli, etc.
Owner's Map of Asheville
I am a local Asheville artist/painter and vacation rental owner/manager. I have painted for years, and had an interior design business before getting into the rental business. I enjoy decorating homes - it's like a 3D canvas. I love the Grove Park area and fell in love with the Cottage the first time I saw it. Originally, I used the lower part as a studio while renting the upper 2 bedrooms. Now I have the entire house available for guests to enjoy.

OK, contrary to evidence so far, my mother doesn't own the Ivy Cottage. I am cheap, demanding and quick to find fault, but Ivy was a delightful surprise. The house was absolutely spotless, tastefully appointed and impressively equipped. You'll want to take the king bed home with you, but don't. I always take my own pillow, but forgot. Not a problem and I've rarely ever made that statement. New gas grill. Inviting, cozy feel, CD player w/remote, tandem washer/dryer, terrific deck. TV set on Golf Channel! I hate hotels/motels. Overpriced, no kitchenette, tipping somebody every five minutes; was scheduled to stay at Grove Park Inn and very fortunate to find Ivy as an alternative. Close to Grove Park, Merrimon(sp) Ave (Rte 25), supermarkets and downtown. Quiet residential setting. I've stayed at A LOT of places; this was a real find.

We couldn't have been happier with the location or the ambiance of the Ivy Cottage. The cottage is charming, and cozy with high quality linens and everything you need for cooking. We were extremely happy with this rental, it's in a great location in Asheville, close to the Grove Park and downtown, in a quiet pedestrian friendly neighborhood. The exterior of the cottage is lovely, with lots of room for entertaining, or relaxing. I give this rental 5 stars.

No need to look elsewhere. There are no words to describe the beauty of the home, inside and out..It was incredible..clean, very luxurious. The gourmet kitchen was stocked with every implement and spice you would need. The home is just blocks from the Grove Park Inn. The neighborhood is just beautiful from its beautiful, flowered medians and the neighborhood turkeys. So charming. This home has the best location for everything.

There are no words to describe the feeling when you arrive at the cottage. The pictures posted were great but it does not come close to being there. From the grounds to the front entryway. It just gets better. The cottage was elegant with high end linens. A gourmet kitchen to please the best cook. THe location in the part of Asheville near the Grove Park Inn is fabulous. You are close to everthing.!

We spent two wonderful days at the Ivy Cottage. Cooked a fabulous meal in it's very comfortable, renovated kitchen. Dined elegantly in its beautifully appointed dining area. Lounged luxuriously on its huge porch (with porch swing and grill). Slept soundly in very comfortable beds with lovely linens. Enjoyed every moment in this charming cottage. It's just fabulous and we can't wait to return. Thanks so much for a very memorable stay.

We stayed at the Ivy Cottage with some friends for a weekend of exploring and dining in Asheville. When we walked in, we were all blown away with how fantastic this place was. Spotlessly and immaculately clean, the number one priority, was above and beyond expectations. The bedrooms were fantastically appointed, with high-quality linens, pillows and bedding. The bathroom was more than adequate, and decorated with as much thought as the rest of the house. The living room was inviting, beautifully decorated, and generally felt good to inhabit. The kitchen had absolutely everything one could need to create anything, from a cup of coffee, to a full meal. Good quality, matched flatware and dishes, pots and pans that I would use in my own home, and other touches that enable one to feel at home. The deck was sublime, overlooking landscaping and trees. It was a peaceful oasis in the morning as we drank coffee and enjoyed watching the antics of various species of birds. All in all this was a peaceful, extremely well-appointed neighborhood. It felt wonderful to wake up in such a home each day, and take a morning jog in a serene setting.
