My family spent the week after Christmas through New Years at this cabin and our experience was perfect. The cabin was super clean and very comfortable and the jacuzzi out the back door came in handy after a full day on the nearby slopes. The village is a short drive to the restuanrts and shops and there is a little market right down the road if you feel like cooking in the nice kitchen that has everything a cook needs to get dinner on the table. It snowed pretty heavy three of the days we were there and the kids really enjoyed sledding down the hill adjacent to the cabin. This was for sure a vacation that will be remembering about for some time. Can't wait to return next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We stayed at this cabin for a long weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday in July - had a great time! The location is close to everything - walk to marina/lake and short drive to Alpine slide and the village. We loved the spacious living room and master loft with kind bed! The breakfast bar was really nice too. Great mountain-cabin environment w/ lots of wood and mountain decor. Our little children loved all the bears and squirrels placed here an there. The weather was warm and there is no air conditioning but nothing a fan or two couldn't fix. That's the one recommendation I'd make if you're visiting in the summer - bring a fan. My dad came to visit for the day and brought us one - made all the difference. Or perhaps ask the owner to supply one. The windows and sliding glass door provide a great cross breeze too. Owner John was extremely friendly and accomodating, even providing recommendations on restaurants, etc. The hot tub was a beautiful way to end our days of fun in the sun. Overall, a lovely experience!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Being transplants from Illinois and Ohio, we had quite the time reliving our childhood by building snowmen, snow angels, and skiing the slopes of Snow Summit. The cabin suited our needs perfectly for our family reunion of 6 people. The many modern appliances and kitchenware were a major convenience that allowed us to cook hearty meals after a long day in the snow. The Jacuzzi is extra large, in wonderful condition and did not take long at all to warm up to a comfortable temperature. As other reviewers have noted, the cabin is not too far from town and the slopes and yet it is located in a tranquil neighborhood. Johnny’s Ski Rentals (very close to the cabin) is a great place to rent your equipment prior to hitting the slopes and he was very flexible in pick-up / return during mid-week. Be sure to try the delicious cheese potato soup at Nottinghams Restaurant!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My fiance and friends had a great Thanksgiving weekend in this lovely Big Bear Cabin. Having never been to Big Bear before, this property met and exceeded all our expecations. Located close to Big Bear Lake Village and ski runs, we had access to all the conveniences of the village while not feeling so close that we ever felt surrounded by people. While it isn't fancy, this property was perfect. It's 3 bedrooms, and open floor plan between the kitchen and living room were spaceous enough to comfortably accomodate the 6 of us. The newer kitchen appliances and available cookware and place settings were more than adequate for us to prepare a full Thanksgiving meal after our arrival. The woodburning fireplace was great and easy to use as well. The 4-person hot tub was easy to operate and heated quickly....and offered a view of the beautiful night sky! John, the property's owner, was pleasure to work with. From his responsiveness to our inquiry to addressing our 1 question on Thanksgiving day, we were very satisfied. This property is definately a great place to spend a weekend mountain get away. We are already wanting to plan a week long get away next year!Did you find this review helpful? The house was better than advertised. Everything was so comfortable. The hottub after a hard day riding the slopes is an absolute necessity. The place could use some more blankets for those who stay in the living room. The fireplace kept us nice and warm too!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/1
