My business partner and I rented this house to operate out of for a few weeks and it was nothing short of exceptional. Our discerning clientele was very pleased with the beautiful scenery and accomodations. As a result business was outstanding and we will be sure to use it again.

This house is truly enormous, and the views are spectacular. The kitchen is very well appointed, except for coffee on our trip. The owners were very responsive and available to help. Beds were comfortable, and every single one of us slept like BABIES every night we were there. Once we figured out how to use it, we enjoyed the steam shower in the master... Drinking water was provided...plenty of it. The only downsides were that the place is decorated like it's gotten everyone's leftover furniture over the years...and there is a bit of an odd smell. From the mouth of a child: "This place smells like old people." Not politically correct, but that was her synopsis. I imagine trying to furnish and decorate a place of this size would be a tremendous endeavor, though! I would definitely recommend this place if you're having any kind of retreat or reunion. There are plenty of beds and just a ton of space. The surroundings are just stunning and it's so private and tranquil. Our party was looking for more of a luxurious alternative to a hotel where we could all be together, so it wasn't completely the right venue for that, but we're still not disappointed we rented it! There's so many pros, we'd be plain old negative if we focused on the couple of "eh's". Condition and furnishings can be improved over time. The location, space and views are forever!

We had a wonderful time together at this very large, very well stocked home. The beds were dreamyl and the shower in the master bath is awesome, like have a steam sauna room. At one point we had including visitors probably 37 people in the home and we were not on top of each other. The children had a great time downstairs in the family room with tv and games etc. Everyone that stayed at the home was extremely comfortable and happy! We had a wonderful 80th B-day party for my MOM at the Glide Community Center which was a big hit for all! We drove all the way from Spokane for this event and the house made the trip much more accomodating and relaxing. Next time we need a peaceful retreat we will know who to call! Thank you soooo much for sharing your wonderful home with us.

we were a group of families with small kids. we stayed here while visiting the safari park at winston. the house is amazing. Joanne and Rick were very helpful and friendly. they had a big toy box full of cars and trucks..made the kids thrilled. lots of board games and puzzles to keep adults busy too. the views were stunning. the pics accurately reflect the way the actual property looks. the place was clean and well maintained. We had some trouble with the heating and the stove...called Joanne and she helped us figure it out right away. the place is close to costco..so was easy to gas up. we would probably stay here again if heading towards crater lake or the safari again. i would recommend this place to large groups having reunions. very family and kid friendly place.

Ideal Setting for a Family Reunion

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home on the Umpqua River. We've been renting summer vacation homes in Oregon for over twenty years, and we all agree that this one sits at the top of our list of favorites. Not only is the home visually stunning, it is extremely comfortable and so flexible in terms of sleeping arrangements. The gourmet chefs in our group appreciated the large, modern kitchen and we ate many delicious meals, both indoors and out. We loved the river views and easy access to the water, and spent our days kayaking, hiking, barbequing and relaxing at Whistler's Bend park. It was a memorable stay, despite the fact that my father died just a few weeks before our reunion. It was a difficult time for us, but we decided to go ahead with our vacation plans, and we're glad that we did because it was the ideal setting in which to heal and re-bond with each other.

This is a spacious beautiful home right on the river. The view is beautiful up and down the river, and the setting is quiet and peaceful. With 3 floors to sleep people, everyone can have privacy in their own place. The house easily accommodated our meetings of 14 people in the livingroom and there was seating for all of us in the dining room. We would definately return to this great place.

Part of a large group of friends & co-laborers in a Christian Family Ministry. What a perfect facility for families or business or whatever the group. The house is nicely decorated and comfortable and everything works. There could be more willing fish in the river but that might be the fisher's fault. Rick & Joanne are the best. Thank You for a great place to retreat to.

During January we rented this great home on the river to share a late Christmas with our childrend and 4 grandchildren. It has all of the room any large family needs with all of the comforts of home. The outstanding view through the three stories of windows was spectacular. There was plenty of room to play table/board games with the kids. A great living room with plentiful seating. There were extra towels and lines to accommodate all 8 of us with ease and many more that could be accommodated. The kitchen and dining areas also we appointed such that the views were great...even when you had to do the dishes or cook. A great kitchen with excellent appliances. We were all VERY pleased with how it met and exceeded our expectations. JoAnne was also VERY helpful in coordinating this for us. We hope to do it again soon. Thanks JoAnne Larry and Cindy Lewis and family
