What can I say about this cottage? It is incredible! When you approach the house, you might be thinking "Oh, the other houses are so close, I wonder if we will have any privacy?" Then you walk in the front door, see the view of the lake, the deck with hot tub and the great privacy fence! You truly feel isolated from the world! Maybe that's part of the charm of Edgewater - it is so very private. I believe the owners must be interior decorators, this cottage is right out of a magazine! There are special, unique touches everywhere you look. We've been fortunate enough to stay a few times now, and without exception, the cottage has always been spotless. Our thanks to Jeff & Holly for providing such a great get-away destination - it is our favorite vrbo.com rental!

Peaceful, well decorated, cozy little lakehouse

I spent two winter months here while working on a project in Indiana. The house was a perfect retreat at the end of a long day. Relaxing in the hot tub under a starry (or even snowy!) night overlooking the frozen lake was definitely a highlight. Another highlight was watching the sunrise over the lake. The house was very clean with great attention to detail (comfy robes, gas fireplace, convenient hooks installed throughout, etc). The decorating was just as beautiful as the pictures show. Celina was a welcoming midwest town. The theater was well priced, and the library was an excellent resource. Sometimes there are seasonal restrictions on swimming in the lake, so ask in advance if that is a priority. Whether you are a business traveller looking for a refreshing alternative to a hotel, or a family looking for a vacation getaway, I highly recommend the cottage to any traveller looking for a peaceful spot.

Fun Girls Getaway Weekend

Edgewater Cottage was the perfect spot for four longtime friends to get together to enjoy a relaxing weekend. The location was perfect - midway between our homes in the Toledo and Cincinnati areas - and the cottage was just adorable! The furnishings were very nice, the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, and the hot tub was an added bonus at the end of the day. We appreciatd the little extras, such as the cozy throws for staying warm during evening chats, the comfy bathrobes, and the conveniently placed hooks for towels, jackets, purses, etc. The views were fantastic, especially the morning sunrise over the lake; lots of photos were sent home to our envious friends and families (thanks for the wi-fi connection!). We hope to be back next year!

Every fall my husband and I like to get away from the rat race for peaceful, relaxing weekend. In the past we have gone camping with our friends, but as we grow older we enjoy the amentities of a cottage stay. This is our second year to rent the Edgewater Cottage and we have been very happy with our stay. The cottage was very clean, stocked with necessities and nicely decorated. We love the use of the dock for fishing, and the hot tub for relaxing. We spend most of our time resting, reading, fishing, playing Apples-to-Apples, and generally like to drive around the lake and check out the local activities, or just shop in the quaint little stores. This year the beautiful foliage made the trip worth while. Edgewater is a great get-away place and we would definately recommend this property.

Edgewater Cottage was everything advertised. The decorating is very cute. The hot tub is a great amenity! We enjoyed the dock. The cottage was very clean and had all you'd want in the kitchen! We have already recommended Edgewater to family members and hope ourselves to return soon.

This was a great property and it was described well. Very nice and comfortable to live in with a family of five. The only bad thing was that the lake had the algae problem.

Photos and descriptions can't capture the true beauty and serenity here. The property is beautiful and has been taken care of. Holly was extremely helpful in recommending places to go and giving directions. I would have been perfectly happy to sit on the dock or soak in the hot tub for the entire visit! We went to Bella's for dinner, I highly recommend the chocolate martini! I am already trying to plan a return trip. I highly recommend the Edgewater Cottage!

My friensds and I had such a great time at Edgewater Cottage!! The house was beautiful, it had eveything we needed, and was such a plesure to stay at! I would highly recommend Edgewaer to anyone looking for a relaxing get away! It was extremely hard to leave! I would have loved to stay for a week!! Thank you Holly and Jeff for making our long weekend such a pleasure!! I look forward to staying there again!

Paradise Close to Home

My husband and I just returned home from Edgewater Cotage. His 85 year old mother came with us for a two night stay and a visit to nearby Maria Stein. The two steps into the cottage were slightly difficult for her to navigate since she uses a cane and there were no rails to hold onto as you walked through the front door. That was a minor inconvenience that she was able to adapt to. The downstairs bedroom was cozy and the twin bed was very comfortable. She kept telling us how comfortable the bed was and she loved being able to take a short walk to the downstairs bathroom. Both bathrooms were a nice size and the showers had a nice flow of water from the showerheads. The living room/dining and kitchen areas were all tastefully decorated. The kitchen was one of the best equipped of places we have stayed. It was so nice to look out the large sliding door window from the living room and see the beautiful lake. We also enjoyed sitting in front of the fireplace as we gazed at the Lake and carried on conversations. - an enjoyable family gathering. An Aunt and Uncle and cousin who live in St Mary's join us for dinner at the Wooden Eagle. They stopped off at the cottage before returning home and were in awe of the Cottage and it's Lake front atmosphere. My husband and I feel we have found a treasure.- A comfortable, cozy and clean cottage not far from home. We are hoping to get to return soon. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us.

A wonderfully charming place on the lake

At last minute decided to turn 3 night stay into 4 night stay. Wish we would have booked a week! This is truly a special place. The cottage was everything we could have hoped for and more. So wonderfully decorated and it really presented itself as a little Grand Lake piece of paradise. Loved fishing right off the dock...caught several fish, especially after the sun went down. My wife loved relaxing and the peaceful setting. We both enjoyed ourselves so much. My brother and sister-in-law joined us for one evening and loved it as well. Thank you, Holly and Jeff, for a great little getaway! Enjoyed cooking dinners "at home" in the well-equipped kitchen as well as hitting the Wooden Eagle down the street. Good food and friendly people! Will definitely return. Overall experience.... a rock solid 10 out of 10!

Holly, Just wanted to let you know my husband and I had a great time at your place...when we pulled up and saw the scripture you had on the front of the cottage we just knew this was where we could get some rest and leave all our problems back home..Everything in your place was so nice...my husband especially loved the dock and being to just walk out the door and fish...he caught quite a few but he mainly just likes to fish for the relaxation of it...he threw them all back in..but than again from what they were saying you shouldn't eat the fish out of the Lake at that time anyway...Our best meal we had was right there at the cottage ....we got some steak and baked potatoes and made a salad...It was delicious...We ate at the Orchard Tree...not the greatest...but the last nite we did eat at the Wooden Eagle and the food was very good.. Hope we left the house clean enough...we tried to leave it like it was when we got there...I see you have 2 teen age children....savor every busy moment with them..because time goes sooo fast....Best wishes to your Family and Thank you for your Cottage...CM (Sent by Email)

Hi Holly - We arrived at the cottage last night, and we were so pleasantly surprised to have a Christmas tree set up and the Christmas music playing to welcome us. The cottage is beautiful, clean, and tastefully decorated. My wife got teary-eyed when we walked in because she was so blessed. This is our first Christmas away from home, so having the “just perfect place that feels like home” was so important to her. You and Jeff have a real talent in hospitality! Again, thank you for making Edgewater such a wonderful cozy place. We are going to have a very Merry Christmas filled with joy and peace here this year. Holly and Jeff,Many thanks for allowing us to stay at your terrific cottage for the weekend! We had a great time, and the cottage is so special. I took a few pictures inside to duplicate as we redo our bedroom over the winter. Jeff was especially nice about letting us come in early, since we had no clue how long it would actually take to drive from Cleveland.We are already talking about coming back over the winter-- I'll be back in touch this fall.Thanks again!DanaP.S. Thanks again for making your vacation cottage available to us. It has already became our second home. There is a spiritual centering here I have not found elsewhere in a get away spot. Your place is awesome. We love the decor and it was perfect for us as we traveled with a 3 mos. old and a 7 year old. It was so easy to rest and relax while feeling just like at home. Everything was perfect. You two though of everything. We loved waking up in the morning to the view of the lake and ending the day in the hot tub while the moon shined. We absolutely loved this area. It's such a perfect home away from home. We will definitely be back.

This cottage is wonderful!! Just right for a get away for a week or weekend!! You can't find this just anywhere, fishing is great, hottub is wonderful late at night!! You can just walk out on the back deck,relax!! Great place to have familys get togethers,and also good friends. Everything you need is there at cottage!! Great time!! All four of us had a wonderful time while we were here. We were very happy when out on our boat soaking up the sun and drinking a few cold ones. Six girlfriends got together for a Winter Girl's weekend at Edgewater. It is a fabulous place! We enjoyed the frozen lake and getting in the hot tub and watching the stars on a clear winter night.

We had a great time in this lovely home. This place looks like its right out of the pottery barn catalog. We didn't go into town, just sat around and enjoyed our girl’s weekend. We caught up on sleep, ate, drank, watched movies and had a wonderful time. This place is very clean and the water is beautiful. We will definitely be back. Thank you for such great hospitality.
