Enjoy a relaxing or activity-filled vacation in this lovely, light-filled, beachfront house in peaceful Truro on Cape Cod, where you will never know you are on the Cape in peak season. You can lounge in the hammock on the deck overlooking spectacular views of Cape Cod Bay and the entire sweep of the Cape, stroll down the association staircase to the private sandy Bay beach (generally calm water and great for kids). Rent a kayak or windsurfer, depending on the weather, or go beachcombing at low tide.
Drive five to ten minutes to the National Seashore beaches to try boogie boarding or surfing in the waves. There is wonderful road biking on beautiful back roads with few cars, or explore the fire roads through the woods on mountain bikes. Nearby bikepaths are another great option. Spend a day or evening exploring the galleries of Wellfleet, and check out the scene in Provincetown after your whale watch. Both towns have wonderful restaurants and movie theaters as well.
Other activities include fishing, star-gazing, birdwatching, walking, golf on the famous Highland Links course, etc. The Truro Central school has good playgrounds and basketball courts. There are public tennis courts in Wellfleet, about 20 minutes away. Very nearby shops include a fish store, deli, farmstand, gourmet mini-grocery store and bakery, home-made ice-cream shop, and liquor store. There is a mall and other shopping in Hyannis, about 40 minutes away. There are supermarkets in Orleans and Provincetown.
The house is well-equipped to accommodate two plus families, a group of friends, or a couple wanting a romantic getaway. There are waterviews from every room. Upstairs there is a Master Bedroom with private bath and deck overlooking the Bay. Downstairs are four other bedrooms that walk out onto a deck: two good-sized ones with twin beds which can be pushed together to form Kings, and two small ones which hold trundle and bunkbeds, respectively. There is a full bath and laundry downstairs as well.
The living area is upstairs to take advantage of the views. A large open (very well-stocked) kitchen/dining/living area opening onto a large covered deck with picnic table, hammock, and gas grill makes for easy family living. The breeze and ceiling fans make air-conditioning unnecessary. There is a half bath off the upstairs hallway. Downstairs an open sitting area outside the bedrooms provides an extra "hang-out" space for the kids if they want to watch TV or play games. There is a private outdoor shower with beautiful views. A garage provides ample storage for bikes and other gear. The house is truly comfortable and beautiful. More photos available on request.

My family just returned from a wonderful vacation in Truro, staying at this beach house. The location was excellent - right on the hill overlooking the beach, a 1 minute walk to the steps down to the sand. During the course of 1 week, we only loaded the kids into the car once, as they were so happy to be on the beach, and it was so conveniently located. The bay location meant very calm waters, great little islands and tide pools at low tide, and amazing sunset views. The beach in front of the house is private for the development, so we did not have to deal with crowds. The house itself was fully stocked with everything we could have wanted, and the deck off of the living room was great - even if it was windy outside the deck was covered, and therefore very sheltered. I would have no hesitation recommending this house, and in fact we are hoping to return next year.

We had a wonderful stay at this house and are already figuring out how to do it again next year. The house is lovely -- comfortable, well stocked, and perfect for a family (or two). The view is breathtaking, and the private association bay beach is quiet and beautiful.

This home is situated in a spectacular setting overlooking the Bay with easy access to a beautiful beach. This was a family vacation with our grandkids and the house was completely outfitted with every amenity. We will be back again.

We have stayed at this rental property on three occasions. It is a truly spectacular location: extremely private, fabulous views overlooking Cape Cod Bay, great unpopulated beach, yet near enough to interesting places like Provincetown and the National Seashore. It is just a tremendous place for vacation. The house is comfortable and well furnished and the owners were always responsive to any concerns or questions, but we never had any difficulties. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful sunsets from the deck, followed by peaceful evenings filled with ocean breezes. We can highly recommend this property. Peter Jessop

This Turo "home" is a place where memories are made. Having had the opportunity to stay with three other families and share walks on the beach, read summer novels, and eat ethnic dinners laughing with young and old, I want to go back each year - make it that trip we all look forward to each year. The view from the living room or porch is one that I revisit in my mind on those stressful days when the seventh graders in my classes cannot function. I simply look up at the ceiling and picture the sun setting, the water fairies dancing, and me on the hammock! Provincetown is not far - I remember summers there as a child; it has changed, but it still provides that sparkle of tourism if you need it. I think I like the "Penny" Candy Store the best. Thank you for rest, seashells, and memories.
