The stunning views of the lake framed by stately oak trees in daylight, and the shimmer of a glorious Hill Country sunset reflecting off the lake at dusk, as well as the spectacular star gazing in the evening will provide cherished memories of your Hill Country weekend or vacation.

The luxurious master suite will lure you with its cozy fireplace, shower for two, and roomy spa tub perfect for two. A separate sitting area in the suite affords desirable privacy. With four separate dining areas, there is lots of flexibility for serving and feeding your crowd.

The upstairs decks will entice you with ceiling fan, speakers, and chic furniture for dining and lounging while you lazily watch violet and gold sunsets over the lake in the distance. With three ice-makers in the house, you will never want for ice. Downstairs are three bedrooms. One, a mini-suite, serves as a second master

A second large downstairs living area, with a sleeper sofa for two, boasts its own wet bar/fridge and second television. If staying connected is necessary, a desk here provides high-speed internet. A propane gas grill is located on the deck off of the formal dining room. Makes for easy access from the kitchen. There is a table and chairs there as well so folks can visit while the chef cooks. Don't forget to pick fresh herbs from the kitchen garden below in the back yard to make your meals extra yummy and pleasing to the eye.

Stored are two additional roll-away beds, and two 12 inch thick blow-up beds, just in case you need to sleep 16 guests total! A washer and dryer are conveniently placed in the upstairs master closet, and also at the back entry, where there is a spacious garage and large driveway for multiple cars. Pet lovers? Not to worry; the fieldstone floors are pet-friendly.

Chateau Lakeview - in Heart of Beautiful Texas Hill Country

Year Purchased: 2006

Why the Owner Chose Lakeway

We are in Austin quite frequently. We have rented many homes from vrbo.com and decided to purchase a home for ourselves and rent it when we are not using it.

The Unique Benefits at this House

Our home is very relaxing. One of our favorite things is to sit on the front deck, watch the sun set over Lake Travis and watch the deer wonder through the yard. Our Golden Retreiver loves to stand guard and give those deer a good barking.

After we put our dog to bed, Sassy the neighborhood cat comes by for some petting. She is a free agent and loves to have a good conversation along with a possible feeding and some petting.

Owner's Map of Lakeway

We are Royce and Sue Holland. Our principal residence is in Dallas, but we love Austin and the hill country and so we are here often. Royce is the Executive Chairman of Masergy Communications.

    • Sue, thank you for a wonderful weekend! The place fit our needs from every standpoint. The views from the patios were breathtaking especially at sunset. That you for hosting all my fellow Texas Tech alums. Thanks again and will definitely be contacting you again for future trips down in Hill Country.

    • We stayed at Chateau Lakeview to celebrate our anniversary with friends and family. What a wonderful, relaxing time and perfect place to share with those close to us! It's large enough that everyone had their personal space and yet we had wonderful space to dine, laugh and just watch gorgeous sunsets. I strongly urge anyone needing respite to book this home! We also took our dog and he had a great time, truly dog friendly.

    • We stayed at the Chateau, and it was everything that we could have asked for. The house is beautiful and spacious. We loved all the decks and the views. The area was nice and quite. Sue was very easy to work with and she answered all questions. I would recommend this house to anyone with a big goup.

    • We stayed at Chateau Lakeview for a week while attending the festivities for my son's wedding at Lakeway Resort. Were we ever pleased! What a beautiful home, with every amenity you could dream of! It was so thoughtfully stocked--even down to bandaids and extra toothbrushes! The kitchen was a dream and offered everything we needed to whip up a dinner for 30! The house was beautifully decorated, but still felt like you could put your feet up and get cozy. The decks are a wonderful place to gather, and by the end of the week it felt like home. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home for our family to make longlasting memories!

    • Rented Chateau Lakeview in November 07 for weekend stay in early March for our son's wedding at Lake Travis. Could not have found a better location or nicer people to deal with. When we toured it the refurbishing was going on but even amid the construction clutter the great bones and quality care was obvious. The photos match the reality in every respect--except the reality is even nicer. Sue, the owner, was very easy to work with. She allowed us a late checkout Sunday so we could return after the wedding to change clothes and finish packing up...very professional with good instruction sheet for arrival info, very quick to answer emails and definitely flexible since we did not know initially how many days we would stay. The new photos on the site show the improvements and the overall quality of Chateau Lakeview. It offers anything you could ask for in a home away and is so much better than motel rooms. We loved the privacy and quiet, the well-maintained, up-scale decor, and the make-yourself-at-home atmosphere that welcomed us from the minute we arrived. I know my daughter who stayed at a different location on the Lake was envious. The Chateau's layout worked great for our party: husband/wife, adult friend, her daughter-husband-baby boy, and another couple. Split living/sleeping areas allowed privacy; plenty of parking; awesom and functional kitchen; wonderful decks; comfortable beds; clean baths with plenty of towels--all added up to a great stay. Everyone was thoroughly enchanted and have no doubt we would return if given the opportunity. Would definitely recommend Chateau Lakeview to any one needing something this size. And can't think of anyone better to work with than Sue and Jaci--thanks very much ladies...

We were extremely impressed with how conscientious you guys are about making sure your guests have everything they need. It is pretty amazing! We have truly enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful and very relaxing. The remodeling sounds great, although I have to admit that I don't think any of us have any complaints with the house as it is. That means you guys will just be making something that's already wonderful even better!
