  The house was absolutely adorable. Within walking distance to Mccraes boat dock. The house was very cozy and comfortable and very inviting when you walk in. theres a ton of fun things to do in the surrounding area boating, resturaunts etc. I would definately reccommend this place to everyone it was so nice and relaxing.

  We rented this home for 3 months and loved every minute of it. It is in an older part of Homosassa and the neighborhood is all residential homes - some old, some new, all charming. We were w/I walking distance of 4 restaurant and a marina, where we booked our trip to swim w/the manatees. The whole time we were there, we did not meet one unfriendly person. Our neighbors were great. The backyard was totally fenced in and my dog loved it. She would wander around in the dark and bark at the neighbors, who did not mind. The house itself was spotless, cheerfully decorated, and very roomy. We had company a couple of times and there was plenty of room. Everyone loved the lanai that looked out on the woods. The orange tree was blossoming and I'd sit in the lanai smelling the flowers. This was one of the nicest areas we have been to in Florida. Everything you need from kayaking in the rivers to shopping at Ulta and Sam's Club were close. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who wants a relaxing place to stay.

  Our first observation after arriving at the Old Homosassa Retreat was how clean and welcoming the place was. Not elaborate, but comfortable which is perfect for those with curious little kids. We could tell a lot of attention went into making the place suitable for families. A baby gate is kept next to the top of the stairs with the appropriate settings marked and lattice was zip tied long the upstairs rails to keep little ones from trying to squeeze between the posts. While we no longer need them, it was good to see a high chair and pack and play are available. Little notes posted next to the wall switches throughout the house were helpful in figuring out what they operated. It was a little buggy, so insect repellant is recommended, but the screened in porch and lanai were a great way to enjoy the natural settings while avoiding the mosqitoes. The neighbors and other locals were all very friendly and hospitable. We highly recommend the Old Homosassa Retreat and plan to use it again in future trips.

  We loved the Old Homosassa Retreat. We have stayed at Homosassa Springs many years. The waterfront properties are often over priced and unclean. The Old Homosassa Retreat was a great change. We decided to stay in a non waterfront property this year. The convenience to the boat ramp was great. The home charming and clean. All amenities you could want. We would definitely stay again. It is an elevated or stilt home type property, so you must be able to climb an easy set of stairs. Access to local stops was great and nearby.

  We had such a great time at this very neat and clean property. Walking distance to the dock, restaurants, etc. I highly recommend this property for a very pleasant family stay. We will definitely go back.

  What a great place! Close to everything. The house was completely ready for us and had everything we could need. Highly recommended for a comfortable stay. Thank you for the hospitality and we will definately be back next year.

  Love the place. So cozy. Felt just like home. The dogs loved the big back yard. We all enjoyed the fireplace every night just relaxing and taking it easy. Will most certainly come back!!

  My family and I had an incredible time. There's plenty of room for everyone to enjoy something different. The house was so clean and comfortable I could not have been happier. Personally we love the fire pit with lots of trees in the backyard and the walking distance to McRae's for boating and celebrating a great day on the water. We will definitely be back!
