Take a wildlife walk right from our doorstep up aptly named Game Creek and be prepared for lots of encounters. Or launch off from our doorstep on an epic hike, snow shoe or cross-country ski tour through the Jedediah Smith Wilderness and into Grand Teton National Park. With your morning coffee in hand, be sure to check the ridge opposite the Lodge for moose, elk or deer, using the spotting scope on the stairwell. Don't be surprised, however, if you see a "visitor" behind the Lodge! World class fishing spots are too numerous to mention, and golfing opportunities abound. Dry Ridge Outfitters, which operates horseback riding and pack trips out of Moose Creek Ranch in the next drainage over from Game Creek, offers a 5% discount to folks staying at Windigo Lodge.
Quaint Victor, Idaho is three miles away, and provides a high-quality fish market and grocery, espresso and malt shops, a first-rate supper club, and a great video store. It is only 11 miles to Driggs, Idaho, which features full-service grocery and hardware stores, plus outdoor clothing and gear shops. Jackson Hole is 20 minutes away over beautiful Teton Pass. Dine and play in the western town of Jackson, then drive through Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.
On winter mornings, call the snow report and choose between the endless steeps and glades of Jackson Hole, and the world famous powder of Grand Targhee resort. There is plenty of track-set cross country skiing nearby, and you can take the kids to Snow King Resort for affordable day or night skiing. Or, for the adventurous, zip up Teton pass to access some of the best back-country skiing in the world. .

- The house is located in a semi-secluded valley at the base of Teton Pass. Jackson Hole and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort are only 18 miles away over Teton Pass. Victor, Idaho, just 3 miles away, offers groceries and restaurants and shops. Eight miles further, Driggs, Idaho has a supermarket, sporting goods shops, guiding services, and great little shops. Driggs is the gateway to Grand Targhee ski resort. The Game Creek trailhead, which ties into the greater Teton trail system through the Jedediah Smith Wilderness (Bridger Teton National Forest), is reached with a 4-5 minute walk or ski from Windigo down a BLM road into Game Creek. The house sits on 3.4 acres next to prime wildlife habitat. Moose, elk, deer and fox live move through the canyon, and mountain lion and bear sightings have been reported.

Our "family members" come from 4 states - Alaska, Hawaii, Washington and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Personal trips bring us together today,as they have for the last decade, to hike, fish, kayak, raft, ski/snowboard, and explore Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Windigo Lodge is a special place for us - an active, yet peaceful retreat from our hectic professional careers in medicine, law and business. Windigo trips always feature gourmet meals served family style, to nurture our souls and fuel our bodies for adventure.
