This charming 5/4 has been fully updated. Upstairs is a spacious all new 3/2, an amazing kitchen and a master with its own bath. The master has a king bed, it's own TV and a beautiful slate shower with a bench. The other two guest rooms share a newly remodeled bath with a granite top vanity and a tub. One guest room has a queen bed and the other has a bunk bed(2 singles) and a double size futon. The guest rooms also have their own private balconies to enjoy the ocean breezes. Upstairs has a great foosball table. TV room has a nice wide screen HDTV with surround sound, DVD/CD player, and an FM/AM receiver. The entire back of the house is an open air balcony overlooking the backyard and dock and pool.
The downstairs is a more casual 2/2 with it's own kitchen, dining and entertainment center. One room has 2 double beds and the other has one queen size bed. The entertainment room also has a fold out futon bed. Downstairs there is a great covered paved patio area to hangout and enjoy the ocean breezes in our unique 4 person hammock lounge, our cozy full size hammock, or our 4 person bar.
Adjacent to the covered terrace is the pool and spa area. The spa holds 5 people and is on its own deck near but seperate from the pool. The pool is heated and has an extra large first step. Max depth is 5.5 feet.
This house is in the perfect location for a family keys getaway. It is located on Mile Marker 90, Plantation Key, right off of the Tavernier Creek bridge on the oceanside. This means you are literally 6 houses in from the Ocean on a deep water canal with no bridges to the ocean and a 70 foot sea wall with a fish cleaning station at your back door. You are minutes from the crystaline waters off the reefs and the world class blue water deep sea fishing of the Florida Keys. If you are a backwater fisherman then you can drop your boat at a nearby marina and keep the trailer on the side of the house. You have the best of both worlds because you have access to oceanside fishing or back country fishing through Tavernier Creek bridge.
Around the corner is a great little shallow water basin where you can kayak and see the bonefish tailing. We have 4 other worthwhile kayak mini trips you can take from the house. Pick one and go. Info for your trips is detailed at the house. Right outside the channel you have Pennekamp State park to the North and prime fishing grounds and reefs to the south.
Within walking distance (1/2 mile) you have a dive shop with dive trips, 4 restaurants, and a grocery store. Within a mile you have a CVS, movie theater, post office, a big grocery store, a Dollar Store, and a multitude of great restaurants for dining. A couple of miles to the south you have Islamorada's Founder's Park with an olympic size pool with lifeguards, a water park, basketball and tennis courts, walking and jogging courses, a playground and a beach.

I hate to say anything bad but people need to be aware! This is our 5th property renting from VRBO. Everything has been reasonably priced and beautiful! We have stayed in the Keys before, in a condo and this year decided to rent a house. The property was a DUMP and the rotting smell of garbage never left the home. People even came to clean again and they called that house the smelly house!! It was unbearable!! If we could have found other accomadations we would have! The Kitchen sink was clogged the entire time, we were constantly plunging the toilets there was no hot water or water pressure, and one shower didnt even work. The beds had a plastic on them and were very uncomfortable. The furniture was so stained we had to put sheets over them to sit on it....gross. The towels were so old and stained and there were no pool or beach towels. Both the pool and hot tub were disgusting, someone did come to clean them but I never used them. The pool is under the patio and that part of the property gets very little sun... a pool seemed useless! The pictures look nice but it is all superficial! I highly suggest you avoid this property!! The house was everything as described and more. Spacious, well kept, nice & clean. Great location with beautiful view. Cant wait to go back next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

It was such a pleasure to stay there, my stress just melted away just sitting outside enjoying the breeze with my Margarita and listening to Jimmy Buffet, soaking in the fantastic view. The house is very well kept, a super location with everything you need only minutes away. For those into fishing, this is the perfect place. Just hop into the boat and in two minutes you are on the Atlantic Ocean. Did I forget about the fantastic sunsets from the terrace? I'll be back for sure.Did you find this review helpful? Your home much exceeded our expectations. It was definitely a beautiful place to stay. The home had all of the amenities that we could need and was in a fabulous location. If you are looking for a nice relaxing week, weekend, or maybe even a further extended stay, look no further, you have found Paradise. This great location is close to supermarkets, drug stores, restaurants, and attractions. I highly reccomend this house if you want to be a tourist but live like the locals! Wow! The upstairs is really nice. Not what I expected for an old keys house. Very modern,everything is new clean. Great area in a quiet residential neighborhood. Awesome restaurant nearby for breakfast called the Tropical cafe within walking distance. I highly recommend.
