Our home was custom built for the view and comfort. At 3700 square foot, this 4 season home is walking distance from Big Boulder Ski in the winter. Visit us this spring or summer and consider a winter get a way once you see this beautiful area. This is the closest home to Big Boulder Ski. You can sit on the deck and view the slopes and lake. Just minutes to Jack Frost Ski and Pocono Raceway. Thirty minutes to slots!! INDOOR WATER PARK just 5 minuues away.
Checking in after dark...lights will be on for your arrival and hot tub ready to enjoy!
The 462 square foot heated and air conditioned garage will act as a game room featuring a bar room size one piece slate pool table, foosball table, table top poker machine with 13 games available, 9 ft. shuffleboard table, Pac Man and other games on the table, bar with 5 stools, stereo with cd player, extra refrigerator, tv and dvd player (snow ball machine and extra ice machine in summer). Powder room located just off this room. A large deck off the kitchen with 2 tables and 10 chairs, gas grill and cooking untensils. Roof covering half of the large deck. A deck off the first floor with 2 chairs and a coffee table-steps leading to the patio below. A hot tub, mounted TV (summer only), and chairs on the lower patio. This is the only house that has a back yard with plenty of privacy, and a nice area for playing horseshoes that are provided. In the basement is a ping pong table, single shot basketball game, Hydro Thunder Video game, and air hockey table.
The upper level has a family room with a 46 inch lcd flatscreen tv, gas fireplace and leather furniture. There is a full bath with granite counter and double sinks, a queen bedroom, and a king bedroom with private bathroom. Kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. The extra large granite island, 9ft x 5 ft, is great for large gatherings with 3 added stools and tv mounted on the wall. A Dell computer connected to high speed internet is located in the kitchen area. Or bring your own lap top and connect to the wireless internet. Dining area has a beautiful oak table with 10 chairs.
First floor family room is a great place for the kids to have their own space for tv and games. There is a 42 inch flat screen lcd wide screen tv connected to cable. This floor also has a king bedroom, queen bedroom, double/twin bedroom. There is a full bath with granite counters and double sinks that are separted by a pocket door from the tub and toilet area, and also an additional powder room on this floor. Game room entrance is on this level.
Sit on the peaceful front porch and watch the deer and turkeys wander in the wooded area.
This house was furnished with brand new furniture, mattresses, kitchen utensils, several flat screen televisions, hot tub and towels, grill and outdoor furniture. All 5 bedrooms have a television, and there are several dvd players that can be moved from one room to another.

Why the Owner Chose Big Boulder
We liked this area because of its location to Maryland. It is far enough for a get a way, but not too far of a drive. We selected our lot because of the view of the slopes in the winter and the lake in the summer. It is also on a "no outlet" road, which makes it very nice. We have the largest and only private back yard in the development.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We have rented many homes while vacationing in the area. When we decided to build our own vacation rental retreat, we wanted to put into it everything we liked about all the houses we rented. The first and foremost was comfort. All the furniture, mattresses, and tv's were purchased new for this home. We did not want any of our guest to have to bring more then what they needed, so we provide linens for all the beds, bath towels, and hot tub towels, and kitchen items. EVERYTHING is supplied! Having lake accessability was also important. We are members of the Lake Mountain Club. This is not open to the public. Included is use of the lake, heated pool, kiddie pool, (pools are at Jack Frost also) lounge chairs at the pool and lake. Boats are available for a fee, by the hour or day. Its the kids vacation as well, so we loaded up with games. There is something for everyone.

We looked at hundreds of possible locations for our late summer holiday and picked this one for it's multiple level accomodations and the many game options for the kids. It was definitely the right choice. Our first 2 days were during Hurricane Irene and even with the cable out for several hours, the children had so much fun playing, pool, ping pong, video games, etc., and were never bored. The furnishings are very nice and everyone loved their beds, sooo comfortable. There are more items than listed in the description, particularly in the kitchen. We left some spices, flour, and glasses behind for others, just as others ahead of us had. We are TV people and 10 TV's were all used and appreciated. We noticed this home is the only one in the area with a great view, which we enjoyed regularly. We hit Tannersville 3 times, the Pocono Raceway for an Irene relief fundraiser, horse back riding at Deer Path Stables (great with the kids as first time riders, very reasonably priced too), and hiked the paths of Bushkill Falls, which was exhausting but awesome. The pool and beach area in Big Boulder community, were very nice, clean, heated to a lovely warm temp., no complaint here at all. We have been described as 'too picky' by some friends, as we have almost always changed rooms or even hotels at resorts because we wanted better than standard. We would recommend this home and location to others, as well as return ourselves to enjoy it again.

This house has everything you could want. Plenty of room for three families with little children ages 1 to 4. There were games and toys for the kids. The house is very clean, and there was little things like plenty of soap, toilet paper, and tissue in all the bathrooms. It was these little things that easily made all of us feel at home for the week. The house is in such a great location. Some of us came to Ski, but we all went to the indoor water park that was just minutes away. Everything was so close to the house we never really had to go very far. The owners were also very helpful, before and during our stay. We will all probably make a trip and come back to the house next year.

This was the second year in a row we spent the long MLK weekend at this house, and it was just as good as we remembered! Not having to worry about linens is AWESOME. The house is very nice and well-equipped, but also comfortable and well laid out. Kids and adults alike in our group love being here - it has everything we need and the location is fantastic. This review is long overdue but a glowing review for this house is well deserved. The pictures really do not do it justice. The house is beautifully kept. They really have thought of everything to ensure the comfort of the guests (including toys for a 3 year old!). The only complaint any of us had was that there wasn't enough time to enjoy ourselves. When my family and I first walked in the door, my first reaction was "it is so peaceful here." The house is in immaculate condition and has absolutely everything you need to feel right at home. From board games to waffle makers, this house has everything. It really is a terrific "home away from home". There is something for everyone to do. My girls loved the snow cones, game rooms, the internet ready computer. My parents stayed one night and couldn't believe how gorgeous the house was. There is plenty of room for everyone. Dealing with the owners was a simple task and we were provided with tons of information. We will definitely be renting this home again. This house is truly a treasure!

This is the second time we've rented this property, both times in the summer. Each time we've rented was with different sides of the family, each having lots of kids. Everyone (on both sides) agreed it is one of the best places we've ever rented. The owners truly strive to think of everything you might need while staying. The house is very clean, and in excellent condition. We rent in this area frequently, and have yet to find a more "stocked" kitchen. We used everything... the grill, game rooms, snow cone machine, hot tub. It is a great house for a large group. We never felt on top of each other. Additionally, you are close to many attractions... beaches, hiking, water parks, outlets. The owners and property manager are extremely organized and considerate. It was an absolute pleasure working with them. My whole family intends to return... Now I need to plan a getaway with friends here! If you're renting in this area, don't think twice. This is the house for you!

This is the 2nd year we have brought the entire family up to the poconos... What a GREAT place for making memories. Christmas is a time for family and this home by far meets all of our expectations. We were told a few years ago to make memories.. not presents.... so this is the 2nd of memories my children and grandchildren will never forget. Once the children go up and go out on their own they never spend a lengthy time together.. without getting on each other nerves. This house meets all our needs... the first doay was a rain washout... the board games and chips occupied everyone. The second and third came and the skiing was the greatest...10 out on slopes and the togetherness was priceless. This home is big enough for being together or separate... game room kept all of us busy. We have stayed in many rented homes and this by far beats all... EVERYTHING you need is there. God blessed us and our family... with the BEST memories for the Christmas Holiday. It tells a lot when you return to the same home and WE WILL...

We spent two nights and had a fantastic time. The house has a wonderful view of the Lake and the ski mountain. It's kept immaculate as well. The owners have really tried to think of the little details that would make anyone feel at home. We enjoyed the hot tub, the fireplace, the large kitchen, the wireless internet, the pool table, the shuffleboard, the multi-head shower, and on and on.... If you've been searching for a great place to stay in the poconos, you can end your search here. No question. 4 couples had plenty of room with an extra bedroom to spare! We'll be back!

I agree with Kathleen from NC, I would love this place to remain a secret! A group of friends got together here over a long weekend and fell in love with the place. The owners were great and very easy to deal with. We have rented in this area before and never had such a good experience in such a great house. Well done Smith's!
