Adorable beach cottage which allows pets and is made for families. Fully stocked kitchen and perfect lounge around living room. One bedroom for kids with two twin beds, one guest bedroom with queen bed, one master with king bed, and master bathroom with claw foot tub and separate shower. Deck off master. Queen size sleeper sofa in living room. Second bathroom also has shower. Can sleep 9 people.
Yard is extremely large and bigger than any other rentals (lot and a half) . Terraced area with lounge chairs and other seating so you can sip margaritas while the kids are safe right next to you. Eating area, outdoor firepit and gas barbecue. It's the perfect place to kick back and enjoy being outside. 4 Parking spots.
Being able to relax in a large back yard after a day on the beach or visiting the many sites in the area is invaluable. When the wind is blowing at the beach, the yard is often warmer and extremely relaxing.
Out the door, turn left, and there is the a glorious beach a 1/2 block away. It is large, clean and beautiful. It's a few blocks away from the public beach so it is less crowded and very clean.
Two blocks away is the harbor park which has the perfect kids' park for ages two to ten years and a grassy area for other sports. The harbor is a five minute drive and you can go for a boat ride or rent boats. There are incredible restaurants and a kid's arcade.
The town is walkable for local fresh produce and fish. The main town is a five minute drive and boasts world class restaurants, antiquing and movie theatres. A water park is a ten minute drive that your kids will love. Magic Mountain, Santa Barbara and Ojai are a half hour away.

Winter 2011-2012 Sept 15 - June 14 - $1350/wk, $2650/month
$500 Refundable Security Deposit required.
Exit Cleaning $125 mandatory, non-refundable.
10% Tax required by the city on top of rent for stays under 30 days.
Utility charge of $250 for monthly rentals.
$100 Pet Fee required. Not refundable but only asked for if you have a pet.
Surcharge if holiday falls during rental period. 3% charge for credit cards

Year Purchased: 2005
We are a family of 4. We live in Los Angeles and come whenever our house is not rented to Ventura. My husband is a writer and I am a PhD candidate at UCLA in psychology. Kids are 6 and 9 years old. This picture is of my husband, daughter and son on the beach next to our house.
Why the Owner Chose Ventura
This area is so beautiful, clean, relaxed, with so much to do. Our street is quiet and very close to Marina Park which is great for children. Our neighbors are all incredibly nice and people in Ventura are just friendly and kind. We are so close to Seaward which is a great area for fresh produce, free fish, fun restaurants, bike rentals and margarita mix to make yourself or restaurants to drink in!
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
Our property has an exceptionally large backyard which is really one of the reasons we bought it. Even though the house is small, the yard is huge so many people can stay there and not feel cramped. The outside area is great for relaxing, eating, kids playing and barbecuing. You can use the ladder and get to the roof where there is a nice view of the oceean too. The house itself is perfect with bedrooms that are comfortable and two bathrooms each with showers and one with tub.

We stayed at this beach cottage for a month the end of 2009, and have already made our reservations for next year. This is a really nice cottage, with great neighbors and very responsive owners. We were very happy with our stay and looking forward to next year.

We just returned from our stay at your very cute place in Ventura-the weather was great and the house was very comfortable. We especially enjoyed having our late morning coffee in the great backyard. We had grandchildren and great-grandchildren from Los Angeles come up for a Birthday Party on Saturday and the yard worked so well for that. Thank you! (Email sent to owner after tenant checked out)

My family and I stayed here for a week and it was perfect! The house is extremely kid friendly and there are tons of amenities - beach chairs, toys, outdoor shower, barbeque, beach umbrellas, bikes, etc. The location is great - you can walk to the beach, walk to the market, walk to the park, etc. A wonderful getaway - thank you! We loved every minute here!! What an awesome beachhouse, located in the most perfect Ventura location for a vacation. We used the bikes in the garage to go to the nearby restaurants, the park, and to go fishing off the pier. The safety of the area and the easy access to the beach made our stay especially carefree. The bonus you get with this house is the friendly couple who live next door. We can't wait to come back.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at your beach house. It's charming and cute. I was really impressed with the size of the outdoor area -- so much more than the other lots on the lane. We spent as much time relaxing in the back yard as we did at the beach. The beach is such a close walk, we went to watch every sunset. And what a great beach -- not crowded, peaceful, with a beautiful view up and down the landscape. I look forward to our second stay at the house this summer. I love this house. It's got the perfect beach vibe--Not fancy, but has everything a family needs. Short walk to the beach, easy to town, fun to bike ride. We had a great time.
