  This was a great little place to unwind, relax, read, meditate, fish, use as a home base for sightseeing and other activities. The cottage is stocked with everything you might need. It is clean, cozy but comfortable, furnished nicely, and has enough privacy for relaxing but it is not isolated or in any way creepy. It has a nice large yard and plenty of space for a walk. The very large front porch is inviting and has good outdoor furniture and comfortable rocking chairs.. The sound from the water is fantastic and we saw tons of small trout and a few very large ones. The home is convenient to town but far enough away to be very quiet. The neighborhood is very comfortable and safe. Adorable, friendly little dog came for his daily visit. Too cute! The weather was fantastic too! Leaves and valley landscape were beautiful. The owners are very friendly, accommodating, and informative. For the money or more, this is the place!

  My husband & I have been coming to this wonderful cottage on the creek every time we can get away for several years now. The cabin is perfect- almost new, spotlessly clean, has plenty of room and the owners have thought of everything.The location is quiet and easily accessible. The fishing is great, so, while I enjoy the sun rise over the mountains behind the creek, my Husband grabs his waders and fishing rod and spends most of his daylight hours every day trout fishing or we'll relax on the porch with the dogs and enjoy the views, visit the saturday Farmers Market or some of the intriguing little shops I've found in town. We always make a stop at The Corner Butcher Shop on the town square for the worlds freshest cut steaks and spend one lazy evening grilling on the porch, listening to the crickets and the creek rolls by.The cabin is well equipped to "cook at home" and there is a great little fire pit right at the creek to roast marshmallows for S-mores before bedtime . Many morning we'll visit The Cottage Deli for their all you can eat breakfast buffet, then head back to our cozy little getaway which now almost feels like our own little "home away from home"! There's plenty of great restaurants in town and we love them all. The owners are friendly and keep us posted about fun special events in the area to visit during our stays so we've been able to visit rodeos, fairs and festivals! They even invited us to visit their farm on one of our visits and we really enjoyed meeting them and seeing their miniature Horses, pygmy goats, and baby lambs! It's so nice to be able to bring our two small dogs along with us and let them enjoy the creek right out front of the house, and to take them on our excursions around the wonderful hiking and walking paths at Lake Chatuge and the several of the county parks and Rec areas in and around Hayesville! We brought our In-Laws with us on one of our weekend getaways, and they loved it! The bedrooms at the cabin offer plenty of privacy and space for two couples and they often hint to us how they'd love to sneak away to the mountains with us again soon!

  Very relaxing...clean, nice and beautiful!! We really didn't want to leave. The river and the homeowner are wonderful!!I can't wait to visit again.

  Charming, comfortable, peaceful, fun. Our week stay in August, 2005 with our 4 year old grandson in this lovely home was a blessing. Every need was anticipated by the furnishings and amenities. Hard to believe it is a rental home; it is so well cared for, and so lovely. We read on the porch, roasted hot dogs and toasted marshmallows on the fire we built in the fire pit, played and floated and fished in the creek, and enjoyed having time for each other. Didn't feel the need to go else where for ejoyment, but so glad we did. The fresh picked corn, and blueberries were most delicious!
