This beautiful, architecturally designed, log cabin home is situated on the sunny side of Alpine Meadows. A cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, biking trail is just down the road. The trail ends at the top of the Resort at Squaw Creek. The more athletic can hike/bike/ski down to Squaw Valley from there. Located on a small cul-de-sac, it is very private with beautiful views of Alpine Meadows and the surrounding mountains. Those who stay here call it one of the most relaxing places they have been... and one of the most fun.
There are two bedrooms downstairs, one with queen-size bed and one with two twins. There is a bathroom in between. The kitchen, dining room, and living room are downstairs. There is a Cal King bed in the master bedroom upstairs. The master bath has a jacuzzi tub. The upstairs office (no door) has a sauna and is where the two futons are stored. There is a one-car garage, with parking in the driveway for two more vehicles.
Once in awhile, our (short-haired) Bengal cat, Scooter, stays here. Just thought you should know in case your are highly allergic to cats.
This is truly our second home and we like to spend as much time as we can here. We hope our renters will love it and care for it as we do. It sleeps six comfortably. It is not a home for large parties or groups.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations may be made more than 30 days prior to arrival. Absolutely no refunds will be made for cancellations made 29 days or less prior to arrival. This includes cancellations for sickness, family tragedy, too much snow, too little snow, area closed for skiing, or other adverse conditions. Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to arrival will be subject to a 20% handling change. Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to arrival will be subject to a total loss of the entire rental amount owed and a complete damage and security deposit refund unless a replacement renter is found. Early departure will result in no refunds

I stayed at this lovely house in June 2011 with my partner and parents. We had plans to explore Tahoe but most of the time we didn't want to leave the cabin! It's perfectly cozy - not too big not too small. The inside temperature was ideal and the heated floors are amazing. We cooked most of our meals in the well equipped kitchen and ate as we watched the mountains as the sun set. Alpine Meadows is an easy drive from the Bay Area. I recommend this house for short and long stays in both summer or winter. A perfect log cabin getaway!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.

We stayed in this cabin in winter of 09 with our family and friends and absolutely loved it. Gorgeous living spaces, perfect sized kitchen, perfect bedrooms (not too big or too small), and an absolutely idyllic setting. If we didn't take advantage of the great ski location, we would have been happy staying in the house all day. Plus the owners were charming to work with. Overall it was one of our best vrbo experiences, can't recommend it more highly.

My family of 5 (3 kids) along with my in-laws stayed in the cabin over the holidays in 2009-10. The cabin was great! Really fun, cozy log cabin feel. The bedrooms were comfortable and the bathrooms very good. We really enjoyed the dining room and living room as they created a great setting for hanging out at night. The kitchen is good, quite functional and well stocked. Its not huge and got crowded with more than 2 people in it, but that is a minor issue. The highlight, the sledding right outside the patio door. The sledding was INCREDIBLE, the kids kept themselves entertained for hours sledding and it was right there. Owners are very gracious and good hosts.
Recommended for:Families with young children.
