From the moment we contacted Jan and George we knew we had a special place. The communications with the owners were kind, caring and informative! We felt we had made a new friendship between our families! The moment we walked through the door of Mahana 307 we knew we were truly in a fantastic place. Not only coming to Maui but our condo was AMAZING!!! The pictures surely do not do the place justice! It is much better! There is no doubt we will be back and will stay nowhere else! The property was clean and very well maintained! The furniture, carpet, bathroom, kitchen - everything seemed new and just perfect! The balcony had a special recliner and perfect table and chairs. Ideal for viewing the whales everyday!! All of us appreciate your care and love for 307!! Thank you Jan and George!!

Jan and George - This is our third time to stay in your lovely Mahana condo and each time has been better than the time before; hence we have made a reservation for 2013. Your remodel is lovely. The updated kitchen and bathroom are beautiful. While we did have some lovely dinners out (i.e., Plantation House, Mama's Fish House, and Haliimaile General Store) we prepared most of our meals in the condo because you have made it so easy--everything you need is right there. The new furniture on the lanai is so attractive--we sat on the lanai every day and enjoyed our beautiful surroundings. We compliment you on your attention to details and thank you for your wonderful hospitality.

We thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts for opening Mahana 307 to us-it is idyllic.When we stayed here last 2 years ago we thought it was wonderful but the upgrades have made it perfect.The kitchen is beautiful and we ended up staying in to cook so much more this time.The bathroom is beautiful, particularly the granite inlay.Gorgeous!And trust me, as someone who enjoys soaking in a bubble bath, it was well used. Once again…we had a wonderful time!! Mahana 307 is the BEST! The remodel is great-everything you do to make this feel like “home” is greatly appreciated! Thank you sooo much for the flowers as they were truly beautiful (and Robin was delightful)! Our big “highlight” was the beached “monk seal”. He was right out in front of our condo for about 12-18 hrs. Lots of whales again this year-beautiful to watch! Looking forward to next year… Mahalo

We loved Maui again this year, and all your remodeling is great. The “Hula Girl” catamaran continues to be our favorite “restaurant with a view”. We’ve done the snorkel cruise and the sunset dinner cruise several times over the past few years. For lunch or dinner, we recommend the fish special from the onboard chef. We walked in room 307 – and to our surprise was the most beautiful room that we have stayed in Hawaii! We have everything we could want for, plus more. Jan & George, Words can't describe how wonderful your Maui home was to our family! Love, love, loved the view!!!!!! We saw so many beautiful sunsets, saw a very large sea turtle(my husband at first thought it was a seal it was so large), pods of dolphins, jumping, spinning and putting on a show all directly in front of the lanai! We fell asleep each night to the sounds of the crashing waves. Awoke to the magnificent sounds of waves and beautiful sunrise! We looked forward each day to having our morning breakfast on your wonderful lanai. Your condo was so warm and comfortable and had so much more than anticipated. Such a beautiful updated, fancy kitchen (fully stocked). We took advantage of your filtered water, by refilling our reusable water bottles each day! Loved the two comfortable chairs to gaze at the spetacular view! You even had binocculars, telescope, safe, all green products, cd's, dvd's, tour books, boogie boards, umbrella, ice chests, 4 beach chairs, fresh and Hawaiian flowers(such a treat), 2 flat screens and even a DVR!!!! WOW, such an amazing place!!! We can't wait to return to your wonderful Maui condo, and we truly appreciated how professional, prompt and thoughtful you have been throughout the whole rental process, especially since it was our first time using VRBO! Don’t know how it keeps getting better, but it does. The remodel work turned out great- it all looks beautiful! Our favorite times are still early morning and sunset on the lanai. Going to be hard going back to patio heaters! This time we saw a pair of manta rays, a pod of spinner dolphins, a couple sea turtles, and we think it was the same small sea turtle several days all from the lanai. It’s been a wonderful two weeks. We’re only sad that stay # 3 in your condo is ending.

This has been a fantastic stay! Your condo is beautiful and complete with everything you could possibly want or need. While we were here we took the road to Hana, snorkel trip to Lana’i, and island hopped to Oahu! My husband surprised me with a vow renewal as we first got married on Makena Beach in Nov 2000. Jan & George, This is our 2nd stay in your condo. Last time we were here was for our honeymoon. Hard to believe it will be 2 years next month. Our stay was fantastic & relaxing! We couldn't have needed it more. Your remodel looks amazing! We loved being able to cook in the kitchen & see outside. The view is amazing! We did some new things while we were here this time. We drove around West Maui to see the sights (blowhole). The road was so narrow! But, it was absolutely beautiful. It was a nice, short alternative to the road to Hana which we drove last time. We also drove up to Haleakala for the sunset this time, instead of the sunrise. It was way less crowded and breathtaking. Eric took some surf lessons from Goofy Foot Surfing in Lahaina. He had a blast! I would recommend the 7:00 a.m. timeslot because the water gets very crowded shortly after. Eric's surf instructor, Billy, was great! The group of surfers he taught were the best ones out there, no lie!! We are sad to be leaving tomorrow, but had an amazing vacation. We really needed to de-stress. We hope to visit again. Dear Jan and George, Your condo is perfect! I love your granite kitchen & bath. The view is fantastic! I wish we could have been here when the whales were here. Everything mentioned about this condo is "right on" but the Wi-Fi signal is very poor. I had to drive to Barnes & Noble and use free Wi-Fi to send photos. I give this condo a five star rating because our stay was absolutely perfect. We did it all and loved every minute of it. We would stay here again even without Wi-Fi. Jan & George I am jealous. I wish this was my condo. We have a two bedroom condo in Charleston, S.C. Interested in an even trade. Ha! Ha!

Everything about the all too short stay my wife and I had at Jan's condo was perfect. From the easy transaction to make the reservation, the helpful instructions Jan gave as the trip to neared to finally the condo itself! Dear Jan & George, Jan, it was great to meet you. You are the most considerate owner we have ever rented from, I so appreciated your thoughtfulness when it came to the unscented products I needed. It made my trip less stressful knowing I didn't have to worry about being exposed to things I am allergic too. Your unit is great. Probably the best we have every stayed in, and the view is amazing! Ron & I had the vacation we envisioned, one of total relaxation. We had great meals at Dukes, Penne Pasta, Kimos, Local Plate & Moose........? Our trip on Blue Hawaiian helicopters was a treat. Luckily we had clear skies, saw the volcano clearly, lots of waterfalls and the beautiful blue waters of Hawaii. Dear Jan & George, There are hardly words to express how wonderful our stay was at your gorgeous home. Everything was perfect, especially the bed, so beautiful and comfortable. We listened to the sounds of the waves every night. You can tell how much thought and care you have taken for your guests! The kitchen was so well organized and it was so nice to have all the gear we needed for the beach. My husband spent 3 days getting his scuba diving certification so I lounged and swam. After that we spent our days exploring different local beaches snorkeling. One of our favorite places Kapalua Bay, in all honesty, the best snorkeling was just a few hundred yards south of the Mahana. It was great to have a kitche & the grills were good! We would recommend The Plantation House in Kapalua for an incredible meal and for more casual far, we really enjoyed Soup Nutz and Jaya and Dukes(just opened) - bother were within walking distance. This is the best vacation we have ever had and will DEFINITELY be back! Our favorite moments were at sunset when a mother and her baby breached ACROSS the entire horizon, once directly into the setting sun. So hard to leave... Thanks you for everything! Hi Jan, We had an absolutely wonderful vacation at Mahana 307. We are missing the breathtaking views from the Lanai and the living room. You have gone an extra mile to provide great quality kitchenware and linens. The furniture and decor is outstanding as well. You truly made our tenth anniversary trip special. Thanks you so much. We had a great time snorkeling at the Molokani crater. I read mixed reviews about snorkeling at Black Rock so decided to go the boat way. And it was absolutely gorgeous out at the sea. My three year got a little sea sick but on the way back she enjoyed almost 50-60 dolphins and saw a couple of turtles. And my six year old son does not stop raving about the fishes he saw at the Molokani crater. We also went to Road to Hana, Maui Ocean Center, various beaches, enjoyed Hula dance at Kaanapali resort. The best part of the day was relaxing at the lanai at night on the wonderful swivel chairs. We have been thinking of buying a vacation property and we picked up great ideas after out stay at your condo.Thanks you so much! I will talk to you one of these days and will not think twice to rent your condo again when I come back to Maui. I am already marketing your condo to all my friends and family. Hi Jan and George, Mahalo nui loa - We want to thank you very much for allowing us to use your beautiful Mahana condo for our vacation. As I've shared with you, we are fairly regular visitors to Maui and Mahana is our favorite and preferred place to stay. With that as a knowledge base and then having talked with you and seen the website pictures we were pretty confident we knew what to expect, but it exceeded every expectation. You really do think of everything to make it a pleasant stay for your guests. We were completely surprised by the fresh flowers and enjoyed them during our stay. Another surprise was to find the A/C on for us and the place already cool and welcoming - what a nice surprise on that hot afternoon! We soon learned the A/C system worked extremely well and could cool it down fairly quickly when needed, but it was very nice to find it cool on arrival. I think I shared with you that just by coincidence we have always stayed on upper levels, but we now believe the 3rd floor is the best and your location at the end of the hallway can't be beat. The furniture and dishes and artwork and decorative touches were all beautiful. We were really surprised by the attention to detail. The quality and attention to detail made us feel as though we were staying in a home, not a vacation rental and it really made our vacation even more enjoyable. The towels were nice, we've never had an ice maker in any unit before, we couldn't get over that you even supply laundry detergent. We just can't say enough about the unit. We loved everything about it. It was especially nice because although we were pretty active and gone a lot, we also had time to relax at the condo. We saw a monk seal that first evening and had the most beautiful sunset you can imagine. The next morning we saw a sea turtle from the lanai and later that day we saw dolphins. Within less than 24 hours we had seen a monk seal, two sea turtles and a pod of dolphins all from the lanai - without ever leaving the condo! Our vacation was off to a great start and it stayed that way for the whole time. I'll be contacting you about renting your condo again! Thank you again for your part in our wonderful vacation. What an amazing time we had. Your condo was fantastic! We were able to see whales daily from the room as well as turtles. Restaurants to check out are Cheeseburgers in Paradise & Amigos in Lahaina. If you drive down to Kihei check out Big Daddy for some blogfood. We had fun watching people in the water at Big Beach in Makena (some call it Breakneck Beach). The weather was great. Jan and George, I wanted a condo where I could see, hear, smell, and touch the ocean and that is exactly what you provided with your condo setting. Our stay at the condo from March 12-17, 2009 was wonderful. The condo, condo amenities, and resort facilities were exactly as described in the condo advertising materials and condo photos. The condo's location is also a major benefit with short drives along the coast and slightly longer drive time for the road to Hana. Since we were celebrating our first trip to Hawaii and our 30th wedding anniversary, we splurged on many activities. The whale watching with the Ultimate Whalewatch company in their 18 person speedy zodiac -type raft allowed us to follow a pod of 8 male whales and 1 female whale for about 1 and half hours. The males were extremely active with aggressive lunging, sparing behavior as each male tried to become the new "escort" male to the lone female whale. A second favorite event was the helicopter ride over the volcano, the high elevation waterfalls, and the airport to Hana coastline. The top-down view from the helicopter gave an entirely different perspective of that area than experienced by just driving the road to Hana. It was an awesome educational adventure. Add in a snorkel day trip with Trilogy, the Maui Aquarium, 2 lion seals on the condo beach, and the Plantation House restaurant to create a totally fulfilling vacation experience. Only regrets... our stay in the Mahana #307 condo was only 6 days. I needed many many more days to totally soak up this highly recommended oceanfront condo. I will be back !!! Jan & George, Thanks so much for sharing your condo w/ us! What a place to spend our 10th anniversary. We were so comfortable here...The sunsets on the lanai were (BREATHTAKING.) We drove the road to Hana (and survived! 600 curves!)which was beautiful, had a spa day in Lahaina (Lei Spa ..which was great) and ate some great food (Mama's Fishhouse was incredible!) Thanks again. Dear Jan and George -- Aloha! I know you’ve been conversing with Jeff about your rental unit but I just feel compelled to write you myself! I intend to write a note in your guest book, here too, but I just wanted to tell you sooner than you’d get back here to read it.You must know that by the time we arrived, it was dark (very dark!), so we never saw any part of Maui until the next morning. I’m not usually a morning person, but I awoke early because I couldn’t wait to see what we’d missed as we drove in. I came around the corner into the living room and gasped, and then started to cry. Nature makes me cry every time! Your view and setting are INCREDIBLE!In addition, your attention to details in this unit has made all the difference for us! Soft towels and sheets, special soaps, good cookware, available beach towels, chairs, and coolers are just to name a few. You’ve arranged the furniture towards the view, when so many people usually arrange it towards the TV - something I’ve never understood!!! Jeff and I have been traveling a lot in the past few years, so we’ve had many opportunities to stay at lots of places. We can adapt to anything, and certainly have, but we ALWAYS notice when a place we stay has “gone the extra mile” to make it comfortable. We also own a rental unit on an island in south Georgia (NO comparison to Maui!), so we always take notes to try to improve the amenities for our guests as well. We’ve learned a lot from you!I do hope everyone who stays here takes care of it for you, so that you’ll continue to rent it for years to come. (I MUST come back to watch whales!!!) I am a believer that we’re all here to make a positive impact on as many people as we can before we die. May 2007Jan & George -- My husband & I came to Hawaii to celebrate our 25th anniversary, a dream of ours since our honeymoon. We spent 6 nights on the Big Island and 7 nights here at your condo on Maui. It was perfect. The view, the layout, the décor, we could not have chosen a better spot. Highly recommend the Old Lahaina Luau, the road to Hana, & checking out several of the beaches for a relaxing day. Thought the bike ride down Haleakela was overrated for the price and time. Thanks again, this is a view we will never get tired of. Should we make it back to Maui, I couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else. Mahalo... Dave & AudreyWilmington, Delaware

May 2007Our 4 days in Maui were the highlight our trip. Your condo is outstanding in every way. The favorite part of every day was a cocktail on the lanai watching the sunset. This is our 3rd visit to Maui and the best so far. Relaxing golf at Kaanapali and Kapalua Plantation and a ride up to Haleakala Crater. Great restaurants:Kimo’s – Best prime rib!I’O – sophisticated ambiance, great location (patio) and excellent food.Flying home tomorrow - hate to go – but reality awaits! March 2007 Dear George and Jan -- Thank you so much for allowing our family to stay in your lovely condo. We made the right decision when we choose to stay in 307. We will be back for sure. Some of the highlights of our trip were watching the whales from your lanai. We enjoyed snorkeling at Honolua Bay.If you walk down and then swim to the right there is beautiful coral and tons of fish. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Mamas Fish House. Also liked the Aloha Mixed Plate right behind Cannery Mall. The guys went deep sea fishing with Start Me Up and our 11 yr. old caught a Mahi Mahi. Kids did a horseback trip down into the crater and loved it. We will return to Maui for sure to stay in 307 Mahalo Bradshaws Kansas

February 2007 We've loved staying in your condo. We're surrounded by beauty - sunsets, rainbows, turquoise waters, cruise ships lit at night; and of course, the magnificent whales. We're constantly marveling at their behavior which we can observe from the balcony - dives, breaches, tail and fin slaps, head throws. We're in awe! January 2007 Aloha! This was the best vacation ever for our family! We absolutely loved the condo - everything was perfect and more than expected. The Mahana is the best kept secret on Kaanapali Beach. We are very happy to have discovered such a special place, and hope to return soon. The whale watching and the beach was our favorite part of the trip. The views from the condo are the best I have ever experienced. I felt like I was on a boat in the middle of the ocean.
