I stayed here in August with extended family to attend a mountaintop wedding. We stayed for three days in this lovely and comfortable home. It's the owner's home, and consequently has anything you might think you'd need (corkscrew, hair dryers, sugar, you name it!) We needed to count on the air conditioning, and were not disappointed. There were eight of us, and we visited easily in several different locations in the house: the kitchen table, the dining table, the living room, and the charming sunroom. Also available is an anteroom of sorts off the master bedroom upstairs. The location of the house is excellent, on the north side of town, poised for a quick drive into the mountains, but close to downtown as well. Magaly, the owner, was helpful and generous with her time and belongings, and we had a super visit. The restaurant behind the house (I think it's called "Brick House") was fantastic, and I wish we'd been able to eat there several times. It's only open for breakfast and lunch, so don't wait!

What a great vacation
Dear Magaly, We have fallen in love with Durango and your home just completed the trip for us. Your home is truly a "home away from home". We do have one complain, you have GOT TO post better pictures on VRBO as the ones you have are nice, but does not show how great your home really is. We would love to return if you will have us. All the best, The L..... Family

Another wonderful stay.
Thank you Magaly another wonderful vacation. Once again the house is perfect, love the new living room furniture. We also loved sitting on the front porch watching all the deer, especially the fawns, soooo cute. I will let you know about our next dates soon, can't wait. Again thank you and give Kaya a hug for us, she is the sweetest dog.

My family absolutely fell in love with this adorable Durango home. The owner, Magaly, was very easy to work with and she is just as pleasant as she can be. Our only complaint, is we didn't book it for longer, as it was already upon our return back, we rode the free trolley back (which conveniently is just steps from the house). There is a gas / convenience store also just steps from the house, we were able to run right over and pick up some eggs when we were short. The house was clean, the beds comfortable, the towels nice and thick, the yard is beautifully maintained (not to mentioned fenced and very private), very well stocked kitchen. Being at this house made for our best trip to Durango ever. We will make this a yearly visit. Oh, and Durango is pretty amazing too.

Home Away From Home!
Home Away From Home!
I stayed here for two months, from late January to late March, 2013, as I was working in Durango. It was absolutely perfect in every way, and exactly what I needed. I felt immediately at home, and loved my time there. The owner is a wonderful person, and a dream to work with. Any minor issues that came up were addressed right away, and without any inconvenience to me at all. The location is outstanding, within easy walking distance of downtown and the Animas River Trail, and a quick drive to anything else you might need in Durango. If you've ever spent any time in Durango, you know Internet access and good speeds can be a problem. This house has rock solid Internet with good speeds. I was able to Skype and stream video without any problems whatsoever...a nice bonus that is hard to find in Durango! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested. The combination of the house, the location, and the owner make it absolutely perfect!

We stayed in this cozy house for two weeks and it was absolutely wonderful. The location was convenient to the Animas River Walk, downtown, shopping, restaurants, all within walking distance. The Colorado hiking trail was just up the street and many more hiking trails within minutes. The owner was great and wonderful to work with. The house was spotless and had everything we needed and more! The yard was perfect for our dog and the patio was ideal for sitting and enjoying the wonderful weather. We are hoping to go back next year again to stay in this house.

Cozy and Convenient
Cozy and Convenient
My family (of 4) stayed at this lovely house the month of April and we loved it! The owner was delightful to work with, and the house was imaculate and had everything you could possibly need. We loved the convenience to the free trolley and downtown amenities, as well as the river. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who likes to feel at home away from home! We biked, we walked, and we fell in love with the town!

Great 3 Bedroom House In Nice Neighborhood.
Great 3 Bedroom House In Nice Neighborhood.
Our family of four spent 6 weeks in this Durango home this autumn and we had a wonderful stay. It is a well kept and very clean older home in a neat neighborhood just north of downtown. We used it as a home base to explore the countless nearby hiking and biking trails, Mesa Verde, Pagosa Springs, Durango Mtn Resort, Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, The San Juans, and Durango itself. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything, and we made most of our meals at home during our stay. The kids played safely in the fenced in back yard. We stored all of our bikes in the big garage. New washer and dryer. Cable, WiFi internet. Location: Many days we never had to get in our car because from this location you can walk or bike to a number of cool spots. 6 blocks west is Overend Mtn Park for hiking and mtn biking; Animas Mtn trailhead is one mile north, Animas River Trail 4 blocks; Public Library 3 blocks; Rec. Center (gym/pool) 0.9 miles north; Historic Downtown 9 blocks south; Free Trolley to downtown stops one block away. Saturday morning Farmer's Market 10 blocks south; Durango is one of the most bike friendly towns I've seen. The owner was very helpful straightforward and sent us a list of restaurants and activities and festivals she recommends. There is a private basement apartment with a separate yard and entrance and the gentleman who lives there was very helpful with local information and recommendations , but we did not see very much of him. Before settling on this home we debated whether to rent a more remote mountain retreat or a home in town. We have 2 young kids and it turned out we really loved living right in town with easy access to everything as I mentioned above. This is not a palatial retreat with killer views, it's a clean and nice 3-bed/2-bath fully stocked home in a cool older neighborhood that is near the killer views. We would recommend this home and we had a splendid 6 weeks exploring Durango and the region.

Owner response: Thank you Peter, I am glad you enjoyed your stay. Durango is indeed every bit as wonderful as you have described, I feel very lucky. You were fantastic tenants and left my home so perfect I didn't have to get it cleaned, a first. :) Hope you come back soon. Best to you family, Magaly
I have stayed at this house a few times, and it it AMAZING!! It has a very cozy old charm that makes you feel like you're at home. In the winter, the skiing is fantastic, and the cozy front porch is perfect for sitting and drinking your hot chocolate after a long cold day on the mountain. In the summer, you can walk across the pedestrian hanging river bridge into town and stroll down Main Street looking at all the cute shops, not to mention the best restaurants anywhere. I highly recommend this home for any type of vacation.
