  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this house. The owner made the rental process easy, and the paperwork and rent transaction were handled professionally. It's located on the ocean side of Wellfleet, near Duck Pond, Great Pond, and Cahoon Hollow, so you can drive or bike to the ocean beaches without crossing Route 6. It's also just a short drive to Wellfleet Center and its great restaurants and galleries. P.B. Boulangerie just past one end of Old County Road nearby, is the latest hot restaurant, true French, but make reservations on season. Flying Fish Cafe in Wellfleet makes creative pizza and pastries. Winslow’s Tavern and the Wicked Oyster also offer excellent fare. The house is in a private setting, without being overly secluded. The house has a cool design, featuring an enormous great room with cathedral ceilings, itself as large as some smaller rentals. The house can easily accommodate a large group, including extended family. You can have several smaller groups within the house at the same time, without interfering with each other, with rooms on three floors. We had friends and some family join us without inconvenience -- do stuff together when you want, be apart when you want. A large L-shaped deck, with doors to the living room and kitchen, looks out over the property’s significant land, including a small pond/marsh and meadow. Kids love the cool circular staircase to the downstairs play room, which features an antique pool table. The house is well cared for and was in very good condition when we arrived. We've recommended this house to our friends, especially those needing a house large enough to accommodate a larger group of family or friends.

  We loved this house. It was perfect for our party of 10, but would also be perfectly fine for smaller parties. Due to the large size of the house, we found that we could have a few different groups in different parts of the house at the same time without intruding on each other. One of our favorite parts of the house was the enormous great room with its cathedral ceilings – this room alone is as big as some small houses. We also loved the billiard room with its antique pool table. The house is set on a very large parcel of land, which the house’s raised deck looks out over. The land is in a natural state, and includes numerous pine trees, a small marsh, and a meadow. It reminded us of a small nature preserve. We also found driving to the ocean beaches to be very convenient, as the house itself is on the ocean side of Wellfleet, so that crossing Route 6 is not necessary. The closest ocean beach is Cahoon Hollow Beach, which is also the location of the Beachcomber bar and restaurant – a great place for lunch, and also a very lively dance bar at night. We found the house to be well cared for, and neat and tidy when we arrived. We would certainly recommend this house to any larger party who wants to experience the awesome beauty of Wellfleet and the rest of the Lower Cape.

  We chose this house because of it’s proximity to Wellfleet Center, the beaches, and Provincetown, plus since we were two couples, we wanted plenty of space. We brought bikes, and the house made a great home base for day trips and exploring, equidistant between town and beach. The house overlooks a pretty, woodsy view. We loved the billiard room, and had some pretty heated, late-night competitions! The owner is extremely well organized, so the rental transaction was flawless. We had a wonderful stay.

  The house is perfectly located and close to beautiful ponds, and beaches as well as bike rental places. It is a spacious living area with lovely high ceilings. However, we were very disappointed at how unclean the house was upon our check in. The upstairs bathroom tub was not cleaned at all as there was hair and rings around the tub. The sink had toothpaste residue. The area bath rugs in both bathrooms have not seen a washer / dryer or vacuum cleaner. The kitchen counter top was not wiped as there were food crumbs visible. We found ants and cockroaches. Nothing had been dusted or vacuumed. Even though we were warned of low water pressure the downstairs toilet often required a plunger. The caretaker was not responsive to phone calls and also the handbook was outdated. The permit passes for the beach were listed as $25.00/wk when in actuality it was $75.00 per week. We would be reluctant to recommend this property even though it has a lot of potential given the nice outdoor deck, location, and the capacity to hold ten people.

  Owner response: We were happy to hear that this renter liked our location and the design and structure of the house. As for the reported deficiencies on cleanliness, we have spoken to our cleaners, who have assured us that more attention will be paid to the issues that were reported. As for the water pressure, we are not sure that that had anything to do with the downstairs commode. Also, we find that the water pressure is more than adequate. As for the outdated beach fee in the handbook, we have now updated it with the new information.
