perfect

This place was the perfect ski village rental. Our group was nine guys, and the house comfortably accommodated all of us (would be ideal with a few couples...). An attractive, well-built townhome with elegant decor, quality furniture, nicely-equipped kitchen (one of our group is a chef), big TV, excellent sound system... the works. Jacuzzi was (as always on a ski trip) a crucial touch, and the massage chair changed my whole perspective on massage chairs. The location is absolutely ideal - right around the corner from the village gondola, walking distance from the whole village; I saw some buses from a distance and literally don't even know if mammoth has cabs, but everything we wanted was walking distance. All in all, perfect. If we do another trip to mammoth, we know where to stay.

Great Location, Great Amenities, Great Stay

I stayed at the Grayfox unit for a nice 3-day weekend along with my boyfriend, 3 other couples, and 2 single ladies. With 10 grown adults, the unit was packed to the brim, but we all enjoyed our stay very much. The bedrooms and 3 bathrooms are extremely well kept and accomodated us nicely. There is room for two cars in the garage. We parked a small SUV and a pick-up truck without a problem. There were a few additional parking spots next to the unit, but they appeared to be first come first serve. Finding extra parking space for additional vehicles might be an issue for some, but we only had the two cars because a few of the couples flew in. The grill and the hot tub also got a lot of use! The unit is less than a 5 minute walk to the Village Gondola. We never had to use cars except to go buy a few groceries. Other than that, we walked to the Village restaurants, Mammoth Brewery, and gondola. Very convenient if you don't have a car. I would highly recommend this unit. The entire renting process went smoothly. The owners were very helpful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our group consisted of 5 adults and children. We had plenty of space to spread out. This place has everything you would want in your own home. The kitchen was well equipped and modern. There was a bathroom for each bedroom. From the tv, to the stereo, to the high quality air mattress in the living room sleeper/sofa, everything was of great quality. You could tell that the owners have thought of everything to make their place feel like home, and not just a simple rental. We have stayed at the "nicer" solstice properties near eagle lodge but we decided to try this location because of the proximity to the village gondola. They are comparably furnished but we were pleasantly surprised by how great it was to be so close to the village shops and gondola. It was so convenient for us to walk a few minutes from the condo to the gondola, which dropped us off at canyon lodge, that we don't think we can do it any other way again. (no more parking or shuttles) Check-in was as easy as unlocking the door. Management was quickly responsive to requests. The only gripe we had was that we couldn't stay longer. We look forward to staying there again without a doubt!

Owner response:Peter, Thank you for your review! Glad you and your group had a great stay. We look forward to hearing from you again soon. There is finally snow in Mammoth!

This townhouse couldn't be a better place for gatherings of family or friends. We stayed in the fall and it was a great place to come "home" to after a long day of hiking and exploring the Mammoth Lakes area. We were 2 families with small children and were very comfortable. It's location is great - right next door to the Westin. We could entertain guests at home making wonderful meals in the full up-to-date kitchen or easily walk to the Westin or the Village and eat at a restaurant. Best of both worlds. Lots of care has been given by the owners to make this home comfortably rich with atmosphere, cleanliness and spaciousness. We will be back in the winter and we look forward to using the great massage chair after a long day of skiing.

My family had a wonderful time at this property over Labor Day weekend. Loved sitting in the jacuzzi and looking up at the bright stars. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could ask for. Loved that each bedroom had its own tv and dvd player. Very comfortable and so convenient to everything!

Would NOT even consider staying anywhere but here!

I am a very picky traveler and have clocked more than 500,000 miles on United Airlines - so I have a bit of experience. I originally stayed in this unit two years ago and the whole family loved it (kids ages were: 17, 15, 13 and 4). Since then we have tried a number of other places. This year we came back to this GrayFox unit and we will be coming back again in February. The home has been brilliantly planned out out and is the perfect place to stay! The unit itself is beautiful, more luxurious, and better cared for than most others. The rooms are perfect with a lot of closets and room for clothes and the beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. The bathrooms are gorgeous. Sometimes a place is nice until you use the bathroom and then you see that its rundown and not very clean…but NOT this place - I actually feel like I am at home. The kitchen is great and has everything you could need to cook a great meal, including a nice large, spacious cupboard. The wi-fi works great, the kids love the video games, the couch is comfy and fits the whole family - except me - and that is because I refuse to move from the massage chair! The Jacuzzi made me realize that you CANNOT go to mammoth to ski/snowboard without having a Jacuzzi to use in the evening – it’s just wrong. Plus the Jacuzzi is private so even I don’t mind putting on a bathing suit! The location is perfect – it takes less than two minutes to walk to the Gondola. The kids can come back whenever they are done and we can even come back for lunch if we feel like it. This home may be priced slightly higher than others you are considering, but it is well worth every penny. We HATE leaving and we will never stay anywhere else again!

We stayed at this house and actually rented the adjoining unit as well. It was wonderful! Close to everything, within walking distance to the Village which had fun shops and restaurants. The house was well decorated, bathrooms for everyone and tvs in every room! A plus for my husband :). Everyone in Mammoth was incredibly nice and the views were spectacular!

My Family totally enjoyed in this beautiful townhome during our Wedding weekend in June. Great location near village that conveniently provided everything needed for our short stay. The entire house was fresh, clean and tastefully furnished/decorated. Neat kitchen that was organized and well equipped. Family room space and private spa added to the comfortable and relaxing experience. I would make this unit my "first choice" for future Mammoth visits anytime of year.

we really liked this place. Ive stayed all over Mammoth since the mid 60's. This unit was really pleasant for a number of reasons. A 5 minute or less walk to the Gondola in the morning makes it perfect. The car just sat there all weekend. The tub was warm...the unit was warm and the style was classy. It was clean, smelled great, and almost everything worked. It was a nice place for the price.

We spent 3 nights here in July, 2008 and had a fabulous time. The location was perfect; close enough to town, yet far enough away to be quiet in the evenings. The photos do not do the place justice as it is very cozy and has a wonderful homey feel. It was impeccably maintained and the quality of workmanship from the kitchen cabinetry to the tile and masonry work was all first class. The kitchen / dining room / living room is all open which is wonderful for a family or group of friends and yet the 3BR / 3 bath setup allows for privacy when its time to end the day. Definitely a place to return to.

Great place. Very welcoming. We loved the location and the sleep accomodations worked out great. There was some fun locations to sled after a day of skiing and snowboarding. The owners did a beautiful job decorating. We liked that the garage was large enough to fit 2 TAhoes very easily. Well worth the $ and the trip. We;d love to come back again. Thanks so much Dudas,

Could this place be any better? WE had an awesome time here snowboarding, hiking, feeding birds, chilling out in the hot tub and playing poker around the table until we couldn't keep our eyes open any longer! Thanks so much Aaron and Brigit for bringing us here - the best part of being here was that we got to be with you! We love you! Thank you so much for a memorable time! Very nice. We had good weather and a very fun time. The beds were comfortable and cozy and the kitchen was beautiful. The jacuzzi was warm and good after a hard day of skiing/smow boarding. The location to the Village was very convenient and eash to get to. Although, when it snowed it was a little difficjule to get into the garage. We located many fun sledding spots and had a lot of fun! The paintings were gorgeous. We couldn't believe you painted them. Overall we had a great time and all of the TVs and electronical devices were working well and very well appreciated. Thank you very much.
