    • Our visit was from November 13 to November 17, 2009. This trip was to celebrate my Husband's "75th" birthday, with our family of three generations. Oh my God.... when we arrived at this magnificent setting and saw the vacation home, we looked at each other and said, "what must it be like inside"?...... When we walked through the front door, we gasped. The art works, the furnishings, and the ambience were unbelievable. But, the most exciting room was the gourmet kitchen. The separate guest house was used by our grandson and his new bride. It gave them the privacy they would like, but yet we were close enough. We cooked breakfast and dinner every night because we thought, "we cannot beat this anywhere, so why go out", and the kitchen was so well equipped it was a delight to prepare meals. My son, who is a gourmet chef in the rough, thought he was in heaven. The proximity of the house being close to town, but not too close was great. To wake up in the morning to the sounds of nature was a dream. We were able to see at least 12 deer during our stay. Vicki and Robert were wonderful. They were fun and made us feel like long lost friends who had come for a visit. We only wished we lived closer so we could become real friends. Would we recommend this rental, YOU BET, Would we do it again, YOU BET. We will use VRBO again. • My book club (7 members including me) have started an annual "away" weekend where we discuss books (or not). This home and guest house were beyond our highest expectations. Initially we were going to take advantage of the things to do in the surrounding area, but it was such a fabulous place we never left, except for a walk/hike in the hills. We sat in the sun like happy cats, to read and talk, ate good food that we prepared in the fully appointed kitchen, and drank some very delicious wine (ours and the bottle that was placed on the kitchen counter to welcome us). Vicki and Robert were great, and I plan to bring my husband back for our anniversay.

    • Obviously I'm only going to be repeating all the positive comments already posted here. This property is idyllic. The deer, quail, and hummingbirds are all here. It is wonderfully furnished and has tons of whimsical lighting. Exercise equipment, two hot tubs and a fully equipped kitchen make this a great place to stay. The Lamberts were perfect hosts (hint: they like wine) and were very helpful with attractions and restaurants. Highly recommended!

    • This rental home was even better than we expected. The owners did an incredible job of making our stay/experience spectacular. Their rental home is beautiful, clean, organized and peaceful to mention just a few descriptors. We would encourage any and everyone who is going that way to stay in the Monterey Bay House.

    • This home exceeded our expectations! It is so peaceful and beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the home with its natural surroundings. We celebrated my parent's 50th wedding anniversary here and found it to be very spacious and comfortable for everyone. It's just a short drive to nearby restaurants and many points of interests. Thank you Vicki and Robert for making our stay very memorable. The stone patio, decks and hot tubs were just wonderful to hang out and enjoy the outdoors.

    • We stayed at this beautiful home for two nights at the end of June. The photos and guest comments were what drew us to the site, but I must say it went beyond our expectations! My husband just retired after teaching for 36 years, and we wanted to celebrate the kick off to his "endless summer" with our children and grandchildren. There were 7 adults and 3 small children. The house provided us with plenty of space to enjoy each other's company and still have some private space. We were happy that we added the guest cottage space. It was like staying at a 5-star hotel with all the luxurious amenities: thick towels, lush bedding, two spas... The owners really have an eye for colors, artwork, special lighting features, and interior design. We loved all the little areas set up for outside visiting--tables, chairs, heat lamps. The location was ideal, too. Close enough to Monterey (and its world-class aquarium), but we felt we were in the country--away from the fog! This is an ideal setting for connecting with friends and family. The kitchen is so well-equipped and the dining area provided plenty of space for family- style dining. This was greatly appreciated as restaurants aren't fun for small children! We had a wonderful time. We would highly recommend this property to our friends, and hope to return, and next time stay longer!

    • We were looking for a place to relax with room for six adults a preschooler and a toddler. The Monterey houses were perfect. Using both the guest house and the main house gave us room to mingle and room to get away. There was plenty of space for everyone to gather for a meal that was easy to prepare with the on hand pantry goods. The complimentary bottle of wine for our first night was appreciated. We enjoyed the day trips to the nearby wineries and the evenings in the hot tubs. Having stayed at a variety of rentals, I really appreciated having cookware, dishes, and overall décor that was considerably better than the normal rental accommodations. We truly appreciated our stay and would be pleased to return for another visit.

    • My two sisters, my mother and I stayed at the Lambert's lovely home for five nights in early October, 2008 and found it fit our needs perfectly. The home decor and the grounds are so serene - perfect for relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing. We also appreciated how central the home was to area attractions. The Lambert's helpful information about area restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, etc. was great too. My family and I highly recommend this property!

    • Highly recommended, without reservation. Ideal set up for a vacation retreat. We had the guest house for ourselves while our 5 other guests (Brother, sister-in-law, niece, nephew, Dad) stayed in the main house. The houses are very modern, filled with designer accents, yet maintain a relaxed feel. Perfect for trips to the Monterey Bay aquarium, Big Sur, Point Lobos, and we loved the Roaring Camp steam engine railroad in Felton. If you enjoy sun over fog, the location is perfect. We relished exploring the coast in the morning and afternoon, then returning home for homemade meals/BBQ and a dip in the hot tub. Very quiet and relaxing.
