Winterhaus is a four bedroom, three bath modern home owned by award winning action sports journalist and photographer, Tom Winter. Nestled on 1/2 acre of wooded land in East Vail, this home is unlike most in the Vail Valley. Modern and hip, decorated "Dwell style" with original artwork, adjacent to Gore Creek, and a 45 second walk to the free Vail Village shuttle. (vehicles not necessary to stay here).
The home is an easy walk to the local market/liquor store and to Vail's high mountain trailheads for hiking or biking. Winterhaus is located in a peaceful and desirable, upscale neighborhood on Lupine drive. (no condos/townhouses on Lupine)
The interior of the home has been updated with wood floors, modern furniture and new beds. All beds have comforters with heated mattress pads and high quality bedding. You will not encounter "dated" bedspreads or "granny quilts" in this home. In fact, our cleaning service washes our duvet covers after each guest departure. (unlike bed spreads washed once a year). If you enjoy clean, uncluttered accommodation, we invite you to stay at Winterhaus.
~The master bedroom on top level of the residence features a new king size, pillow top bed with a fluffy, down duvet. This room has a large bathroom with a shower and a separate deep soaking, jetted tub.
~The Brazil Room-A cozy room (mid level) features Brazilian art with full-size bed topped/"bunked" with a twin bed. There is also a twin bed adjacent to the bunk bed. This room sleeps 4 and is perfect for children & teens. Shared bath.
~The Red Poppy Room-A mid level, has a NEW, "high quality" queen mattress to top the platform bed. This room features a balcony & TV. Shared bath.
~The Orange Room-This lower level room features a large bedroom (several windows) and King "pillow-top" bed with Dewll bedding. This room is connected to the media area.
~The media area/den has a large flat screen TV, a DVD/VCR player. It also has internet access. This area features a leather sectional couch for lounging after a day on the mountain. This room is connected to the orange room.
~ Adjacent to this lower level room is a laundry area with new, stackable W/D. All lower level rooms are adjacent to a bathroom with shower and custom vanity.
Winterhaus has two comfortable living spaces with mod leather or upholstered furniture.
~ The warm kitchen with new appliances has a breakfast nook and casual dining space. The kitchen and living area, with both bar and breakfast nook seating, has a small flat screen TV, with cable service. This TV is visable from both areas and the main cooking area.
The fireplace/stove area is open to the kitchen and next to the dining room. We supply all wood for your wood burning fires. It features three comfortable leather chairs which surround the fireplace. This room also has a reading chair & ottoman. This space is where the cooking and socializing happens.
Dining Room- Ajacent to the cozy fire area is the dining room. This room, which is all glass, and has a large table, with seating for 8. (extra chairs provided if guest total exceeds 8)

Outside on the patio, guests can enjoy dinner cooked on the gas grill under a patio heater. The patio table/chairs seats 8. Enjoy our back yard with 3.5 ton "picnic rock" large enough for four people to dine on. In the warm months, our large, forrested yard features gardens and ample space for children to safely play both during the snowy months as well as in the Summertime.
