Our family had an amazing time at Winterhaus. We stayed in Vail for the film festival and we will definitely be back. The house features anything you could hope for and the lay out is just perfect. From the solarium you can see squirrels jumping from trees. The creek is just few steps away! The bus stop is just down the street and we never had to use the car to get into town, it takes just few minutes by bus. Aileen, the owner, was available and reachable at any time for questions. We have a 2 year old and she had a blast as well running in the snow and walking down the street to see the creek. We will be back for sure and I highly recommend this house to anybody!! Our family had a wonderful two and a half week stay at Winterhaus. The place easily accomodated six adults, and is located only a half a block from the very reliable free shuttle bus which stops in Vail Village. There is a small , but very well stocked grocery store, one half mile west of Winterhaus, and a short drive ( 1.5 miles) east are fabulous snowshoe trails. The east Vail location combines the quiet of a neighborhood, and the proximity to world class skiing and restaurants. We have stayed at Winterhaus two consecutive years.

We booked Winterhouse for girls weekend. It was a blast! The home is cozy without being crowded and we loved the easy access to Vail. The bus stop was just outside the door and everyone could set their own schedule for going to the slopes. The complimentary town shuttle is also great because it runs until 2pm, so we didn't have to cut our time at the wine bar short! The bedding was divine. The one downside to Winterhouse is that it can't comfortably sleep more than 9 people and we usually like to have 12 ladies.

We reserved Winterhouse* last winter and again this summer. We loved the warmth & comfortable living spaces. Our teenage children enjoyed the ease and the freedom to utilize the free town shuttle to go skiing on the big powder days while my husband and I lagged behind, drinking our coffee and skiing at our leisure. The owners sold us on the clean, uncluttered "European style" comfort in ALL the bedrooms. For a rental home, we were surprised how neat and clean it was! I booked the home again this summer but this time with my sister and children ages 4 & 7. They loved the large, private yard filled with wildflowers and the rushing Gore Creek in the background. All of us liked easy access to hiking trails and the main town bike path. We purchased tickets to the Bravo concert as an excuse to get away to Winterhaus. We are happy to have found our "home away from home".
Owner response:We are happy to receive responses from repeat guests. We encourage renters to submit a review after their stay. The most recent renovation and changes were a result of guest feedback.
