The 'Mas de la Plume' is a beautiful stone provencal farmhouse full of charm and safely nestled in its olive grove and garden full of Mediterranean plants. It is located on the foothill of the Alpilles in a rural setting but just a short walk through quiet lanes to the centre of the beautiful and lively village of Eygalieres.
It is very well equipped outdoors and indoors and benefits from a heated pool and air conditioning. The rental includes 8h of cleaning and the service of our house manager nearby. The farmhouse is tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished with every details thoughtfully selected. It has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, a large country kitchen and its utility room, a very big living room and a tv room and, of course, a heated swimming pool, covered terraces and balcony to enjoy the views and outdoor living.
Above all, the 'Mas de la Plume' is a home with a charm that will embrace you and a setting that will seduce you. The perfect place for your dream holidays in Provence.
Outside:
- It is approached through automatic traditional iron gates and set in lovely gardens and olive grove.
- The swimming pool is 12m x 6m with large steps down and a depth ranging from 0.9m to 1.6m. It is security protected and heated. The beach of the pool are in stone where you will relax in the loungers, steamers and the large hammock under the shade of the olive tree or the sun umbrella. From the pool, there is access to outdoor shower and toilets without having to go through the house.
- Under the West large covered terrace, you will enjoy eating al fresco around the large teak table (seats 12) and make your own charcoal BBQ in the outdoors fireplace.
- At the south of the house, the wisteria covered pergola will give you a welcome shade for that afternoon reading.
- From there, you can take the windy staircase leading to the first floor terrace to enjoy even lovelier views.
Ground floor
- The whole ground floor is covered in centuries-old flagstones and has gorgeous beamed and wooden ceilings.
- You enter through a lovely old front door into the very large main living area that includes sofas, daybed and fireplace. There is a large collection of games and books for your entertainment. - Further along, there is also a quiet TV room with large flat screen with DVD player and satellite TV in French (TNT) and English (Sky).
- A cloakroom with toilets and basin is also located downstairs.
- The country kitchen has a large oak table with chairs and benches and is fully equipped with everything you might require. There is an Aga cooker for the winter months (not fired in summer months) and additional electric ovens and plates. Larder, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dryer and sink can be found in the utility room.
In the summer, you can open the large doors onto the cosy summer sitting room under the vault. It is always a favourite, such a lovely place for a chat looking at the olive grove.
First floor
Walking up the spiral stone staircase, you reach the first floor that is all covered in oak floors. From the landing, you can reach:
- the Master bedroom with a King size bed with access to its terrace, its own bathroom (shower, bath, basin, toilets)
- the South double room with a double bed that shares a wet room (shower, basin) with
- the South twin room with twin beds
- the East room with a double bed and its own wet room (shower, basin)
- the large 'kids' room with 2 single beds and its own wet room (shower and basin)
- a cloakroom (toilets, basin) is located on the landing
The rental includes all charges, linen and pool towels, pool and garden maintenance, 2 x 4h housekeeper per week and the services of our house manager who lives 300m away.

With the mas de la plume, it was love at first sight and even more when we got there. We wanted to discover Provence and the farmhouse was the perfect base to tour around. The house is charming, welcoming and comfortable with a great decor and everything anyone can need. With Anne’s recommendations, we have visited many beautiful places and enjoyed the wonderful food and wines of the area. There is so much to do to please adults and children alike. In fact, we probably did not do as much as we planned because we just wanted to stay home, relax and enjoy the slow pace of life in this truly beautiful place.Owner response: I am delighted that you have enjoyed your time in the Alpilles and felt at home at the farmhouse.

Ancient stones, centuries old beams, 18th century flagstones, refined decoration (wrought iron, old doors, soft colours) and a warm ambiance. Our family has spent the best Christmas holidays at the mas de la plume and I can say that it is a house where life is truly good and easy. What impressed us most was the feeling to live in a home full of character and history, yet enjoying all the modern facilities such as insulation, heating, quality bathrooms. Everything is perfectly done, an alliance of beauty and convenience. I also must say that we have been welcomed by the lovely owner’s agent that has been very helpful and who can also provide any concierge service. The house enjoys an unencumbered vista over the beautiful Alpilles, right on the edge of the Regional Park, and is conveniently placed 15 minutes walking from the charming village of Eygalieres often bustling even out of season. Do not miss the Friday morning market! Inside, the house offers charm and comfort. Downstairs, the very large living room opens towards the olive grove and garden. With its grand fireplace, it is the perfect place to gather after a walk in the Alpilles or to the village and relax with a mug of tea (or something else...). If you prefer to snuggle in a smaller place, the adjacent TV room is the right place to enjoy a good movie. The kitchen is spacious, welcoming and very well equipped. Our family (10 people) could happily gather around the large oak table for Christmas or New Year’s Eve diners. The kitchen opens to a large covered area by the pool and also to a cosy outside stone alcove with views towards the garden. Upstairs, the five beautiful and quiet bedrooms offer quality beds, good storage and their adjoining bathrooms are well done. The master bedroom is a delight with its own private terrace and views. Everything was perfect for our stay (special birthday celebrations), the house is absolutely gorgeous with so much character and charm, the decoration is very tasteful and the facilities truly great (WiFi, A/C, and all). One can tell that the owners love this place and have poured much attention over it. In short, everything was as described and more. Dealing with Anne was a pleasure and she was very helpful at all stages. We have enjoyed the proximity to the beautiful village of Eygalieres where there are very good restaurants, shops and market. We particularly liked to walk to the village to go to the boulangerie for bread and croissants then have a leisurely coffee at the "cafe de la place". We love hiking and the Alpilles offer fantastic tracks with unforgettable views over the surrounding landscape. We stayed at Le Mas de la plume in autumn but the weather was great and we could enjoy the garden, relax in the cosy vault by the kitchen and enjoy the sunset from the covered terrace. The house was so lovely to come back to at the end of the day, we felt truly at home. Together with the property description, these Terms and Conditions will form part of your contract with the Owner. Please read them carefully before you book as they set out our respective rights and obligations and you will be bound by them. RENTAL PAYMENT To confirm and secure the booking, a payment for 25% of the total rental fee must be made to the Owner as booking deposit. The balance (75% of the total rental fee) must be paid no less than 60 days prior to arrival date. Non-payment of the balance of the rental on the due date shall be construed as a cancellation of the Contract by the Client. For bookings made less than 60 days before the commencement of the rental the total rental fee is payable on booking. A damage deposit of £3000 is payable at least 30 days prior to start date of the rental period. Failure to pay will be considered as a cancellation by you. The security deposit will be refunded to your account two weeks after departure, minus incurred costs if required. CANCELLATION If you cancel 61 days or more before the check-in date, we will refund 50% of the booking deposit. No refund for cancellation within 60 days of the arrival date.

About the owner: We are an English and French family with three children who have spent their childhood at the Mas de la Plume. We absolutely adore Provence and Eygalieres in particular. There is so much to do and discover in the area that we always experience something new, yet it is always so good to come back home where the heart is. We lived at the farmhouse about a third of every year and always had such a fabulous time whatever the season. Now the children are leaving the nest and, for the first time, we have decided to share our pleasure with our guests.
Why the Owner Chose Eygalieres:
We fell in love with Eygalieres and the Alpilles a long time ago and I was used to hiked in the Alpilles with my family. Le mas de la plume is very special to us because it is quiet in the country with beautiful views but not isolated since it is only a short walk away from the village to enjoy all what it has to offer. But what makes it so special is how good it makes you feel.

We love the farmhouse and believe that our care shows in all the details that create its true charm. It was conceived first and above all as a family home, not at all as a business.
