This historic Eastport 1920's bungalow has been lovingly restored on an ongoing basis. We are on a peninsula called Horn Point with small waterfront parks and waterview restaurants within a short walking distance. The historic district is a 15-20 minute walk or a 5 minute (seasonal) water-taxi ride away.
The combination home/plus in-law apartment have been professionally decorated in an eclectic but comfortable style. There is a lot of art to enjoy as well as music and a library. A large comfortably furnished front porch seats 8 and beckons for morning coffee or evening cocktails. A covered back porch seating 3-4, overlooks beautiful gardens.
Both kitchens are fully equipped gourmet kitchens with gas utilities. All beds have luxury linens and isotonic mattress toppers.
These units can be rented jointly or separately. Sleeping 3, 6 or 10

I am a frequent VRBO user with over twenty-five rentals. This is my favorite property. I have rented this property three times while visiting my son at St. John's College. The Eastport area is a small community unto itself yet is walking distance to downtown Annapolis. The property and grounds are immaculate and provide all the comforts of home. The owners, Meg and Ben, are delightful and helpful in every way. My last trip was for my son's graduation. I hosted a cocktail/dinner party for thirty people on Saturday night. We used the entire house, upstairs apartment, front and back porches, and back yard. Meg and Ben turn-keyed the entire event. They developed the menu, bought, prepared, and served all the food, and cleaned up afterwards. The food was first rate as Meg is a most accomplished cook. Meg and Ben know how to entertain people and make them feel special and at home. Everyone at the party, representing at least six states, was delighted with the property and overwhelmed by the quality of the event that Meg and Ben produced. As host, I could not have been more pleased. Everything was perfect. I will endeavor to rent this property every time I am in the Annapolis area. Thank you, Meg and Ben, for your hospitality, graciousness, and friendship.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: It was a pleasure having you back for this special occasion and are happy you were pleased with your event. Seems like everyone enjoyed themselves. We hope to see you back in the future. Meg and Ben Matthew says he will be back for reunions and to visit friends.

This was a second time for us to rent from Meg/Ben. This time we needed a smaller space and only reserved the apartment area. It was the perfect place for us to stay while visiting our Mid. The accomodations are so inviting and enjoyable that my husband and I felt like we were on a personal "get away" before meeting up with our son. The living/socializing area is generous and easily allowed us to "host" several Academy friends for the evening. Seven of us shared a meal, played games, and watched basketball on tv. All the Mids were voicing their opinions about what "a great place it was", and how they could easily "hang-out there every weekend"! Meg/Ben thought of things we might want and suggested/offered them to us before we could even think of it! Thank you for another wonderful stay!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Nine extended family members met up to celebrate a family wedding just down the street at the Maritime Museum. This was the perfect location for the weekend. The house was fantastic, clean, and had everything we needed. Meg and Ben greeted us, and from the get go made us feel very welcome and at home. They recommended a couple of places to get some fresh seafood the first evening for the dinner we were preparing and it was wonderful. They made sure we had everything we needed the whole weekend. They stayed in the cottage in the back of the property, but they made sure to be accessible without invasive. If we ever make it back to Annapolis, we will definitely be staying at Meg's place again.Owner response: So glad you enjoyed your visit to Annapolis a d Eastport. Do let us know if you will be visiting the area again. Best Meg and Ben

My daughter-in-law recommended Ben and Meg's home for a weekend reunion for me and my friends. What a perfect suggestion! We stayed upstairs in the lovely apartment which was clean, well-appointed and lovingly decorated throughout with interesting artwork. The accomodations were cozy and comfortable and it was an ideal "home away from home" for our visit. Ben and Meg are friendly and helpful and the location is great for walking around Annapolis. We will definitely be back. Thank you both for a terrific weekend.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, girls getaway.

A perfect setting for our family and the Mids to share time together. Meg and Ben went out of their way to be hospitable and to make our stay enjoyable. Their home is warm and inviting and we felt so comfortable being there. Wish we could have stayed longer. There were 9 in our group, which was a perfect number for their accommodations. We appreciated small bits of time when Meg/Ben joined us for happy hour, and the opportunity to get to know them. I wish we could foresee all the future dates that we'll be returning to Annapolis so that we could reserve their place now! It was truly everything as described and more.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.
Owner response: Great to meet your family. So happy you enjoyed our little piece of paradise. We look forward to your next visit! Fondly Meg and Ben

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Meg And Ben's house for almost two months. The house and the apartment upstairs are both extremely comfortable. Specifically, both kitchens are completely equipped for even the most serious cook, and super organized. Bedsheets and towels are excellent quality, everything is immaculate throughout the house. They have good laundry rooms in both the house and apartment. The rooms are set up so that there are many cozy nooks with good reading lights and comfortable seating, good books in the house and good music selection.Porches are Amazing...big wide porches with comfortable seats and ceiling fans and Meg's beautiful garden filled with trees and flowers. We just lived on the porches. As for Meg and Ben, they are incredibly warm and considerate but also respectful of their guests privacy. I would like to be specific about some of the many things they did for us--they provided us with bikes and found a bike for our son from their neighbor, as well as helmets, Meg taught me how to plank a fish for my guests, Meg got us a great deal on our rental car because she works with Hertz, they called us outside to make sure we didn't miss and amazing rainbow over the garden, they gave my son dog biscuits so he could sit on the front porch and meet all the neighborhood dogs each day, they found us great accomodations on the days we were unable to stay with them, they arranged for us to use a pool at a friends house in the neighborhood, lent us their shredder, their sewing kit, Meg realized my husband might not drink so instead of automatically leaving wine for us, she asked me first, when they needed to repair their WIFI service, they waited to schedule the workers to come after my house guests had left so they would not be disturbed...and showed us the best place to watch the fireworks on the fourth of July...these are just some of the things that come to mind. I live between two countries and my husband and I travel constantly and stay in everything from five star hotels, B and Bs, pensions, boutique hotels and VRBO houses. This place was defintely one of our favourites. Oh, and the location is just great, there are nice local restaurants a few blocks over and the walk downtown is lovely.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway.
Owner response: Tell Issa the puppies miss him already, especially Lucy. Hope you had an uneventful trip home.

We rented the house and apartment for our son's USNA graduation. I sure wish we had found this place when he was a plebe--we would have never stayed anywhere else! Everyone in the family loved the eclectic decor, which only added to the comfort of the home. As an added bonus, Meg is a caterer; wow, can she cook! She catered a party we held for our son in the backyard--who knew a lady from Maryland could cook up a great Texas bar-b-que!! She also catered a post-commissioning crab cake lunch. By far, the best crab cakes we have ever had! I certainly would hate to leave out Ben. He ordered tents, tables, chairs, etc for our party and was outside all day putting things together to make the party beautiful! They are both so knowledgable about the area--our week went by so smoothly because of their suggestions. The house is just 2 blocks from the Charthouse where the water taxi docks, or less than a walking mile over the Eastport bridge to downtown. Thank you, Meg and Ben for giving us a once in a lifetime experience!!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

We are a family of 6 with kids ranging 9 to 16. It is hard to find a place that we all feel comfortable in. Renting this beautiful house from Meg and Ben was the best thing we did all summer. It is clean, organized, and comfortable. Meg and Ben are the perfect hosts, providing you with everything you could want or need. The photos don't do the porches and garden justice. We only stayed three days, but wished we could have spent more. On our way back from walking to the water taxi the first night my kids were already calling it home. I think that says it all! If you are looking for a wonderful stay with all the comforts of home, book this house!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

I have stayed with Meg and Ben on two occasions this summer. My first trip I rented the three bedroom main floor/basement of the house for three adults. My second trip I rented the one bedroom upstairs apartment for two adults. Both rentals were perfect for my needs. The property is very well maintained, beautifully decorated, and contains all the amenities needed for a quiet and relaxing visit. Also, the property is located in a quaint neighborhood within four blocks of the water and several fine restaurants and pubs. I am a frequent VRBO user and this property is at the top of my list. In addition to the lovely accommodations, the owners, Meg and Ben, are delightful hosts who went out of their way to facilitate my stays and make me and my family feel like part of their family. When I am in Annapolis, I will be staying with Meg and Ben, if they will have me.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.
Owner response: David - Of course you are welcome back! Sadly though if you fly you can't share any of that great Texas beer with us. Darn TSA!!! That was a real treat. Kind regards Meg and Ben
