SPECIAL IRONMAN RENTAL INFORMATION (Sorry, Ironman 2012 not available)
Please note that for an Ironman rental we will require a two-week total rental --this may be split between two visits - a late spring training visit and the actual event visit -- the event visit must end on a Sunday -- most past Ironman athletes have stayed the week after the event. Since our normal rental week for the summer is Sunday to Sunday this is the only way for us not to "lose" part of two very popular July rental weeks. Our home is perfectly situated for Ironman -- no parking issues (a serious consideration for this race!) and walking distance to the swim and transition area -- plus a hot tub for after the race.
As fellow triathletes we try to be fair to Ironman athletes while not negatively affecting our peak rental season. We do this two ways #1 - We do not increase our normal summer rates for Ironman and #2 - We request the two-week total rental described above.

The house was great! Very well maintained and clean, comfy and cozy. It was a VERY cold weekend (-17 degrees on Saturday) but we were warm and toasty inside -- we LOVED the fireplace -- which came in handy when we watched the GIANTS beat the 49ers. It was too cold outside to use the hot tub, but the boys used the game room, which was great. Loved the big bar in the kitchen area. The kitchen table was big and great for playing board games, and the walk into town was close - but cold. The garage was awesome! The only negative is that the shower heads are built for shorter people than us -- we range from 5'7" to 6'4". We just squatted - and it was fine. We will DEFINITELY come back again! Thanks GGR!!!

Our three generations of family enjoyed a delightful Thanksgiving weekend in this beautiful and comfortable home. Plenty of room for everyone and large open living areas for shared time. We prepared our traditional Thanksgiving meal and found all the necessary tools and appliances. Nothing was missing! Well maintained and clean with all the comforts of home. Tastefully decorated. A residential neighborhood yet very private. Great playground nearby made an adventure for the kids. Easy walk to Main Steet - it is up hill on the way home. We even had several inches of snow which simply enhanced the experience. We really did not explore to much prefering to stay in by the fireplace and enjoy the home and each other. We would not hesitate to recommend this property.

I can not say enough good things about this house. I have rented a few cabins in Jay,but renting this house just on the outside of Lake Placid was the best. The house was very clean and well maintained. The house is filled with everything you need. There was nothing lacking to make the stay anymore enjoyable.Everything was just perfect. The hot tub came in very handy after horse back riding near Mirror Lake, and a long day at white face for the oct fest.Very short distance to town walking or riding.Thankyou for opening your house to the girl's weekend away. Eveyone had a great time.

is what we got. Family and friends gathered for a relaxing weekend at this beautiful home perched high on a hill above the village of Lake Placid, nestled in a quiet community, with views of the surrounding mountains off in the distance. The hot tub was relaxing, the games room was taxing and the morning coffee run to Starbucks invigorating. This house is perfect for all age groups 64 to age 2. Note that the ladder to the loft is straight up and not for the faint at heart...the teens will love it! Be prepared for a house that has everything you need and a delightful Adirondack decor to match.
Owner response:Thank you for the nice review! However ... we are not exactly perched high above the village. Needless to say, we have only limited winter views of the Seward Range which is west of Lake Placid. Our home is indeed in a very quiet neighborhood within the village.

Gordon's Grand View Lake Placid home is wonderful! This spacious house had plenty of room for our extended family "get away" of five couples (ages 26-58). We particularly enjoyed the large kitchen area for social gathering, meals, and board games on the huge kitchen table. The game room downstairs was fantastic!...ping pong, air hockey and fooseball were all used, and often. And, of course, there's the hot tub... nothing like it after a long day of skiing. The beds were all comfortable, two bathrooms were very adequate, and the new gas fireplace was warm and cozy! This clean and inviting house is fast becoming our "home away from home!"

What a surprise when we walked in the door: it is a beautiful home. This house was perfect for our group to stay together. The gorgeous, open kitchen / living room were a perfect gathering area for family and friends. We loved the decor that echoed that we were in the Adirondacks. We loved it so much that the next time we went to Lake Placid we stayed there again. I recommend to everyone when they are planning a trip to Lake Placid.

We stayed at this house for a weeked in Oct 2010 and had a wonderful time. The house was very clean and had plenty of space. The house is in a pretty good location, just a short walk to town but far enough away that the noise doesn't bother you. I was very impressed with the renovations tha owner has made to make the rental modern and comfortable. The game room, loft and hot tub are a bonus. There is ample parking space for you and your guests which is important. Overall, this is a great vacation home and I had a great experience and would recommend you try it. The Owners were very accomodating.
