We loved our stay at "Maggies" Rustic Cabin. The seclusion was our most favorite part. We enjoyed the cabin being so remote and the feel of being cut off from the outside world. The fact that there was very little boat traffic that far up river was a plus. Please note that your directions are incorrect. You take the second right or right at the second fork after the T in order to get to the gate. We were lost for some time while pulling a boat trying to find your cabin. This was unfortunate as it did cut into our less than 48 hour stay. Also a note about the roads getting very muddy if we have had a lot of rain would have been appreciated. When raining and muddy pulling a boat to the cabin is not ideal. Putting in at Lakeshore, leaving the trailer there, or possibly having a place to store the trailer not at the cabin but before you get to the mud would be better when raining and muddy. A note that SUVs or Trucks when raining and muddy would be better than cars for navigating to the cabin would also be helpful. This past weekend there were literally cars in the ditch right before you get to the T. Fortunately no one we knew. Because we had gotten lost coming in we knew that we could turn left coming out before we got to the T and then take the first right to get to the garbage cans. This was better as it is a gravel road and we were able to avoid the hill by the T where cars had slid into the ditch. Overall great experience, we would love to rent the cabin again in the future. Once you are there you do not want to leave. It is a perfect get away.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
