Wow!!! I'm sitting here on the porch swing near the river on this beautiful sunny morning with a cup of coffee. It doesn't get any better than this. My husband and I had a wonderful stay here in this beautiful cabin (Kottage) for our 21st anniversary. We ate breakfast on the deck by morning and watched the stars in the hot tub by night. What a lovely atmosphere yo've created here. We will DEFINATELY be back. Hopefully this summer. Thank you soooo much Kathy! Without your generosity we would have never been able to do this. But now that we've had this wonderful experience here at Kathy's Kottage, we will be looking at our calendar to come back. Thank you again, Sincerely Tonya. So well-appointed!

My husband and I took a 3-night respite escape. When we walked through the door we knew it would be just that -- large, but comfortable and cozy-feeling room greeted us, but the closed porch and connected kitchen were very practical (considering the proximity of so much outdoor activity). We loved the kitchen amenities and design. Thanks to Russ and Kathy for redo job well done! Lotsa towels and a delightful master bedroom. We used the hot tub each night because it is so accessible. Thank you both. PS: The bottle of wine was lovely!

My husband and I stayed at Kathy's Kottage for 2 nights this January and had a wonderful time. There is a great view of Still Creek right from the deck along with the cool sound of rushing water. We both felt this place was better than advertised. We made great use of the hot tub and enjoyed sitting in the spacious living room to watch movies, play games, and read. The master suite was a definite highlight of the weekend as the bed was soooo comfy! The kitchen was well stocked and had every utensil, pot, and pan we could have needed. If you do forget some item the town of Rhododendron is literally minutes away (we did end up making a trip over to Mt. Hood Foods for salsa and sour cream). We cooked all of our meals at the cabin but Rhododendron does have several restaurants as does the Government Camp area (about 20 minutes away). It was also nice that this property was dog friendly. We took our 2 dogs with us and they enjoyed running around the yard and taking in the smells. This is a great place to come in the winter if you want to do some skiing, snow shoeing, or snow tubing/sledding. I'm sure it is also a fantastic place to come in the summer as well. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this place.

Loved the snow as soon as we drove up! Enjoyed listening to the river. Was pleasantly surprised @ how beautiful the inside of the cabin was. Extremely comfortable and spacious livingroom. We are often disappointed with how uncomfortable the beds are when we travel-We slept like babies! The dogs enjoyed the dog treats-thank you! This is exactly what we wanted-a memorable New Years. My girlfriend and I stayed here for her 30th birthday and had a great time. Kathy was easy to work with and very friendly and accommodating. The Kottage is rustic but warm and inviting and super clean which is always a welcome sign. The little amenities like a bottle of wine waiting for us on the counter really make a difference. Everything is comfortable and the king sized bed is amazing. We slept like the dead every night. We had some small issues with the hot tub but one call to Kathy got it squared away and it was great to be able to sit out under the stars each night and listen to the river rushing by. We really had a wonderful time and miss it already. We'll definitely be back and hopefully have some snow next time!

We stayed in Kathy's Kottage and it could not have been a better experience and I can't recommend highly enough. So charming and cozy. We slept every night to the sound of the rushing waters from the Zig Zag river. Very clean and there wasn't one amenity that she didn't think of and have available My sister and I took a vacation together and this was even recognized by a lovely "sister" throw blanket on one of the couches. The beds were wonderfully comfortable and warm. The setting is so beautiful and peaceful. This kottage is the perfect getaway in so many ways from family, to friends to someone who just wants to get away from it all and relax peacefully. I could have made a vacation out of just the kottage itself! Cannot wait to get the chance to go back and do just that! Thanks so much Kathy - your kottage made all of the difference in the world for our vacation, which is already so memorable!

Kathy, You've thought of everything! We had an absolutely awesome time at your amazing cabin. Our time here gave us time to relax and recharge. The river was beautiful and lulled us to sleep each night. We enjoyed breakfast on the deck each morning and the hot tub was an added luxury in the evening. The location was perfect. It was everthing we hoped it would be and more!! Thanks again for sharing this "little slice of heaven" with us. We highly recommend that everyone gets to experience it the way we did.

My husband and I plus our dogs spent a few days at the cottage and had a wonderfully relaxing time. The house is absolutely spotless and Kathy has great attention to detail in her decorating and supply of everything a vacationer might want or need. After some sight seeing and hikes we came "home" to the cottage and parked ourselves on the deck overlooking the ZigZag River. That is one rushing river! In the evening we enjoyed the hot tub and looking up at the stars. There are several forest service roads nearby for evening walks. We appreciated the bottle of wine and our dogs loved the doggie treats. If you're looking for privacy and quiet plus you want to be close to everything on Mt Hood this is a perfect place to be and I highly recommend it!

My family spent one of the most lovely weekends in this perfect, perfect getaway cottage. Kathy and her husband are amazing hosts; we literally shrieked at how beautiful and perfect the cottage is. Plus, the bottle of wine and coloring books with crayons for our daughter to welcome us as we stepped through the front door - we were instant loyal fans. The cottage is truly comfortable, has everything you need; super bed ... and that hot tub!! Thanks so much for a wonderful weekend; we are definitely coming back.

We had such a nice and relaxing week. The Kottage is so comfortable not only for Dave an I but our 4 legged girls who made themselves to home right away. We will definetly be back. This is exactly what you would want in a mountain cabin. Cozy fire, roaring river, soothing hot tub, and a cabin nicely appointed with rustic charm. The location was great and Kathy was terrific in answering all of our questions.

Hi Kathy, We had such a wonderful time at the Kottage this past weekend with my brother and his wife. We spent the days skiing and it was so great to come back to the cozy fireplace and hot tub to relax at night. We had high hopes and they were exceeded by the attention to detail from the cleanliness to the bottle of wine to greet us. We can tell that you take pride in taking care of your guests. We had a WONDERFUL time and vow to stay 1 full week next time:) The kitchen was where we spent most of our time and thank you for keeping it so well stocked. The bed in the master bedroom was AMAZING and so comfortable! The only improvement (for a workaholic like me) would be to have wi-fi here as I needed it more than I thought. What a terrific place for a getaway! We stayed two nights and wish it could have been more but alas, you have to go home sometime. the Kottage is very comfortable and couldn't have been better. We made a day trip to the Columbia River area and Mt. Hood. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting this area. The pictures and listing were especially accurate. Wish we would have had time for the hot tub but the river flowing right outside is soooo relaxing, especially at night. Thank you Kathy, especially for the bottle of wine. What a wonderful touch!

We really enjoyed our time at your cabin. The place was much larger and nicer than I anticipated. Loved the dark wood, comfy sofas and the remodeled kitchen. With the cold rain, we kept the fires going each night and only used the hot tub twice. Yes, my wife left the hair dryer, if you could mail it, that would be great. Today, was a fantastic day snow boarding at Timberline. Our first time there and what amazing snow, for mid May. We considered calling you to ask to stay one more night, oh well. The Wolcott Family-Pierce Family arrives after a lost journey up Lolo Pass in a foot of snow or more! The Zigzag sounds like a roaring spring storm. Only to enter a beautiful home that's inviting and warm! Opened my bottle of wine left by Kathy and started our mutual birthday week off right. All the kids are relaxed and happy- What a joy more family time-great first night! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Can't write all our memories But so many made-skiing, hiking and GREAT KOTTAGE-Great ammenties! Dear Kathy, Thank you for the delightful accommodation for our Valentine get-away. Your home was so comfortable, as well as thoughtfully remodeled and decorated. Even the bed was spectacularly comfortable. Your recommendation of a place to dine on Valentine's Day was also greatly appreciated and enjoyed. My husband and I have been married almost 30 years. Due to my role as caregiver to our disabled adult daughter, we have not been able to be away together, just the 2 of us. Our other kids are now young adults and managed to help us get a break away from home. This was a very rare and welcome opportunity. My husband John knows how I have taken "mental vacations" to a forest-canopied cabin near a river, but it has always been just a dream. I have always dreamed of respite for him, since he works very long hours (12 hour days, atleast 6 days a week) in his own business, trying to cover our towering medical bills. I know how he enjoyed hot-tubs, way back in our dating days, and how therapeutic the heat and jets are to him. He also enjoys the outdoors. It made my heart so happy to be able to see him savoring the hot tub so many times during our stay in your home. His head would be tilted back just contentedly gazing at the view around him. It is the most relaxed I have seen him in a very long time. Thank you as well for the surprise of Valentine Candy and wine. As if your home was not indulgent and decadent enough! They were also very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed! I just wanted to make sure you had an "inside scoop" on just how special this was for us and why. Appreciatively, Melinda

We don't want to leave....please don't make us go!! This has been such a wonderful, warm, cozy and romantic weekend that pictures and words will never describe. From the lobster tails and crablegs, 4th generation sicillian pasta sauce to a dextor breakfast, candles, endless fires, the coziest bed, hot tub and viewing, privacy, the warmth to share with my Best Friend (bbf). Your Kottage will never be forgotten and will be truly missed.....Send more firewood!!!! Hot buttered rums and starlit hot tub nights :).Mt Hood and Timberline was a fun getaway. Champagne & cigars, not a care in the world. We must have conquered all 7 sins with a loving full bellied smile. We love this completely. Ready to enjoy the Kottage and will look forward to many more visits, yet our 1st visit will be the Greatest Memory & Anniversary. Did I mention Kathi is eating Red Velvet Cake right out of the tupperware? We are in Heaven. Now htat I finally figured our and mastered the fireplace, I really don't want to go!! Cozy..warm & in love with a little good ol fashion clean hedonismn funness's. Thank you for the extra (draggin our foot not wanting to leave) day. I found the air on the hot tub lastnight..BONUS!! As I said, words just don't do justice. thank you so much...

Kathy: This is our second year renting the Kabin and our first at the Kottage. Having both units at the same time allowed us to have the entire family, grandparents, kids and grandkids all together for a weekend. Younger kids loved staying at the Kabin while those of us at the Kottage enjoyed the peace and quiet. Had a great day skiing on Saturday and the large open living room at the Kottage meant we could enjoy a family dinner with all. Rotten weather on Sunday and we were fine with a group, enjoying football at the Kottage and others at the Kabin, soaking in the tub and playing games. A great time was had by all......Thanks

We loved it here and were sad we didn't plan for more days in Kathy's Kottage. Special attention has been paid to every detail. This is probably the most comfortable place I have ever stayed while on vacation. My husband and I enjoyed the quiet location, the hot tub, and the sound of the river lulling us to sleep at night. We visited the small grocery store nearby and found everything we needed in the well-stocked kitchen to prepare all our meals. Many beautiful areas and hiking trails in the area. We are hoping to return with our family next time and stay at Kathy's Kabin!

Hi Kathy, your lodge is absolutely fantastic. The sound of the river is charming and very welcome when it's time to sleep. It is very charming and relaxing gateaway. The best after a day at the mountain. Thank you again.

Hi Kathy! You have a beautiful spot here- thank you for sharing it with us- As soon as we arrived and opened the car door I knew I picked the right place! Hubby's eyes lit up when he heard the water, then a big smile and "what's that?"-Perfect! We had the rest and relaxation we both needed! thanks again, Lisa

Dear Kathy, We had such a wonderful time. We love your Kottage and all of your special touches. It was so cozy inside and the view outside was to die for! Reminded me so much of my childhood in the Adirondacks. We hiked to Mirror Lake and it was a "Perfect 10" day! Thanks for accomodating us with such short notice. Loved our stay here! Beautiful location, beautiful cabin. Loved sitting on the deck, overlooking the Zigzag River. It was a great way to begin our vacation in the Northwest! Thank you Kathy O

The cottage was awesome. It was everything that the advertisement suggested. We've stayed in several VRBO cabins and this was by far the nicest. The location was perfect. Ameninities were ideal and decor was done very profesionally. You should be proud of your home. Thanks so much for you help.

Usually don't submit reviews, but your place definitely deserves one. The place was well-kept and had lots of bells and whistles, we particularly enjoyed the hot tub and the grill. The location, as the description indicates, is literally right on the river which provides for a soothing sound at nighttime. This is our second time visiting Mount Hood, but our first to stay at your place, and are looking forward to not only visiting Mount Hood again, but specifically staying at your Kottage. Thanks for making our stay a memorable one!

Owner response: This is word for word from a note that Dan and Kathy wrote to me regarding their stay: Dear Kathy, Words can't express how much we enjoyed ourselves at your darling Kottage. It has all the comfirts of home. Loved the view of the Zigzag River from the deck. We would just sit and listen to the rushing water, the sound was so relaxing. We truley enjoyed the great nights sleep, the beds were fantastic. The mattress was top in my book. Took advantage of your great gas grill on the deck to grill some mouth watering steaks. Your hot tub was very relaxing to my sore muscles after a 7 mile hike to Ramona Falls, which was breath taking. A special thanks to you for your thoughtfulness & kindness of the chocolate truffles and the bottle of champagne. Enjoyed them. Danny and I celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary at your lovely Kottage. Thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts for such a great place to stay. God bless you! Everything about this place exceeded our expectations. We came up here looking for rest and relaxaton after a couple of super rough weeks and found that this was exactly what we needed. No loud music, no fireworks (the puppy was so happy) and just a few days to unwind and celebrate our anniversary. Thank you for giving us a peaceful retreat so close to home and the delicious chardonnay! We look forward to coming back again in the winter, you will definately be hearing from us again come winter.
