We spent 9 nights in the "Little Grass Shack" and had a wonderful time. We had everything we could need right in the condo. There were also beach chairs, umbrella, coolers/ice packs etc. The most amazing beach is right across the street. We would just walk over and snorkel in the morning and later go over and watch the beautiful sunsets. There were many restaurants and shops within walking distance which was great. the Kihei Kai Nani complex is constantly being cleaned and the landscape taken care of. Patricia and Jefferson were so very helpful and kind, we couldn't have asked for better hosts. Thanks so much for allowing us to stay in your "Shack"!

We stayed here for a week in March. Being in the corner suite was great as we had alot of light as well the breeze coming through all the windows which kept the place comfortable. It was a joy waking up with the birds in the morning and smelling the beautiful flowers that were in the gardens. We had abit of view and could see the ocean as well as being across from the swimming pool. The pool was nice to come back to after a day at the beach and we used it everyday. The beach equipment that was supplied twas great and convenient to take to the beach. The suite had everything we needed and everything was all in great condition. We highly recommend this suite for anyone who is wanting to have a fantastic time in Mauii. We will be back there next year!

We really appreciated the welcome basket along with milk and juice in the fridge as we arrived Christmas Eve. Patricia knew that getting at least these basics would be challenging the next (Christmas) morning. Santa filled our stockings and we ate Christmas dinner on the lanai over-looking the palm trees with the ocean in the background. We looked at a number of other condos online and when we were there and quickly realized that “The Little Grass Shack” was superior to others in so many ways. The location was high enough for privacy and great views but low enough for easy access. It was right across from the pool but far enough away so as not to hear it; same thing went for its distance from the road access to the beach. We couldn’t have packed all of the beach things like chairs, noodles, boogie boards and coolers necessary for a great trip but they were in great condition waiting for us in the condo. The fully stocked kitchen made at home meals a snap. For overall convenience, price, cleanliness and location I’d highly recommend The Little Grass Shack to a couple or a young family like ours. We've long felt that a vacation experience is what you make of it - not where you stay. However, after a long day of adventures having a clean, comfortable anc convenient place to recharge gets you ready for your next adventure. This was definitely the right fit for exactly that!!

Maui vacation

My husband and I stayed at "The Little Grass Shack" for 7 days in July, and had the most wonderful vacation there. The condo was extremely clean and comfortable, and had all of the amenities we needed. The welcome basket and phone call from Patricia made us feel at home from the minute we walked in. The condo was stocked with everything.... boogie boards, snorkeling gear, towels, beach chairs, coolers, kitchen supplies, etc. We were able to save alot of money (and inconvenience) by not having to buy all of these things after we got there. The location was perfect-- next to the beach, close to lots of restaurants/shops, and a good central starting point to explore the rest of the island. We would recommend this property for anyone else travelling to Maui. We had such a wonderful experience there and are already planning our trip back!

We spent 2 great weeks in Maui with this condo as our home away from home for our family of 4 which includes 2 young children. Everything was as presented and more. The owners were pleasant, accommodating and responsive. We really appreciated the cleanliness and complete accessories in the condo…from a fully stocked kitchen to lots of beach equipment. The complex was perfectly located, quiet and well run. We felt very comfortable, safe and enjoyed our stay immensely! We would easily recommend this to anyone wishing a relaxed stay in Maui.

An Unforgettable 9 days in Kihei!

My wife and I stayed at "The Little Grass Shack" in Kihei for 9 nights. We are extremely happy with the experience that this condo provided us for our vacation on the island of Maui. This condo had everything that we needed and more. The views from the condo, particularly the lanai, are absolutely spectacular. It is a great place to listen to the birds, drink that early morning coffee, and look out into the ocean. The condo itself had everything that we needed. We made great use of the bodyboards, snorkeling gear, beach chairs, and beach towels. We just left everything in our car and would then walk directly across the street to Kamaole II beach for the day. It is about a 2 minute walk from the steps of the condo to the beach. We made many meals in the condo and there was never a time when we were looking for something. There is also a very nice pool near the condo. The pool was large, always very clean, and never busy. The laundry services available were also close and very accessible. This condo is also in a perfect location as it is located in the great town of Kihei. You are within walking distance to many beaches, shops, and restaurants. The best part of our experience with this condo were the owners. The owners of this condo live nearby and are there to make sure that your stay in Maui is great! I would definitely recommend "The Little Grass Shack" to anyone wanting to visit the island of Maui!

PERFECT SPOT IN KIHEI

We have stayed at three other condos in Maui and prefer this one at Kihei Kai Nani (KKN)! This was our third time at this condo at KKN in May and each time we enjoy it more! Everything is up to date and very comfortable. In the morning we sat on the patio and had coffee and listened to the birds and the sound of the waves and looked out at the ocean. There is such a peacefulness about the condo itself. The location allows easy walks to the beach and several very good restaurants. You can drive a short way to Wailea for some fine dining experiences. No need for the air-conditioner-- We had the windows opened when we were there and we loved when the trade winds came in the late afternoon while we were enjoying a dvd or a good book. In addition to the ALOHA ambience, the condo is equipped with beach chairs, pool accessories, snorkel gear, you name it. The property is beautiful with the yellow hibiscus, fuschia bougainvillea and plumeria trees- well maintained.They have an organic garden area with several herbs for your use. Barbeque areas , pool area and laundry rooms were also very clean. The beach across the street has great snorkeling areas.( have to go in the early AM) There are kiosks down the street that offer all different kinds of things to do and you can bargain with them on the price. We really like Cafe O Lei, Maui Tacos, Maui Thai, Stella Blues,Tommy Bahamas, Cheeseburgers in Paradise, Spago at the 4 Seasons, Antonios, Capische?, Hula Grille (Kaanapali) Pioneer Inn (La Haina). The magic show in Lahaina (Warren and Annabelle) is a must see. Also the Luau at the Grand Wailea is excellent. The owners as well as the office personnel at Kihei Kai Nani are so helpful and accommodating. We will be back again and again- the good Lord willing. We have recommended the condo to several friends.

Seriously the best yet!! I have been coming to Maui each year for the last five years, and depending on who I travel with and what our needs were, I have ended up at a couple of other establishments. Both of them were great, I really thought the value and location of those would be hard to beat. Well I can say they have been beat! This time I was traveling with my 5 year old nephew. Having never traveled with kids before I wanted to be someplace located near the beach but also with good accessibility to activities and services? Well the “little grass shack” was even more than we had expected. It’s so comfortable that each day when we came back from the day’s activities to relax, it was like coming home, not like some stuffy hotel room. As someone who does a ton of research before traveling and has stayed in other places on Maui, I can say that this was the best value yet! My sister must have stated at least 5 times that it was perfect and so much more than she anticipated. It really does have a real ocean view from the comfortable balcony. A fantastic not overcrowded beach is right across the street. The unit itself is exactly as pictured, everything you would need was available and more. The grounds are beautiful. And you can walk to many different restaurants and shops. The owners were great also, very attentive and available. Oh and one more item that is of great importance to me.…it’s very quiet, so much so I could hear the ocean at night. I will definitely return next year if I am so lucky….and my nephew asked me the other night if we could go back next weekend? I wish!

Kihei paradise

Aloha! Thank you so much for your hospitality. We had a wonderful four weeks in paradise, which was made even better by the cleanliness and conveniences of staying in your condo. We loved being on the third floor and in an end unit, with views of the ocean and palm trees from all the windows and lanai. It is a well equipped unit that provides everything you need for a beach vacation such as chairs, boogie boards, coolers, umbrella and towels. This complex has a nice large pool, clean laundry facilties, a herb garden and a library book exchange for the guests. The location is great for people who want to be across the street from the beach and is within a fifteen minute drive from at least ten other beaches in south Maui that have wonderful snorkelling and fun boogie boarding. The whale watching and awesome sunsets are an added bonus to this location. We will be back! Mahalo.

We have stayed at Kihei Kai Nani seven times over the years and this is the NICEST unit we have ever stayed in. It will be tough to settle for less after this. Spectacular view from the lanai, and being a corner unit with extra windows made for a perfect sleeping temperature at night. A+ with us! Everything you need for a complete Maui experience.

My husband and I stayed here for a week. The location of the codo is very convenient for traveling to all parts of the island. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Our new favorite unit in KKN

We have been staying in Kihei Kai Nani about once a year, typically around Christmas. We started going there once our oldest daughter was born, six years ago (now we have a second daughter as well). We have stayed in several of the KKN units over the years, and our latest stay was in this unit in December 2010. We know Maui fairly well, and our favorite spot is the KKN complex. Having stayed in several other units, we find this unit has probably the ideal orientation. As an end unit, it has additional windows, and they face the ocean (with a gorgeous ocean and sunset view). The lanai faces South, allowing for a good view on the mountains as well as on the ocean. We typically sit on the lanai for breakfast, lunch and dinner whenever we are not eating out. Breakfast on the lanai benefits from the early morning sun, lunch is mostly shaded from the harsh noon sun, and dinner is a pleasure watching the sunset. The unit is well appointed, with beach chairs, towels, umbrella, boogie boards and other beach essentials. The kitchen is updated, there are flat screen TV’s in the living room and bedroom, and the place has a nice welcoming feeling about it. There are (quite and smooth) ceiling fans in both rooms, and in the living room there is an air conditioning unit (which we did not use on this trip). Nothing seems to be missing from what one would need to have a pleasant stay. Most uniquely among KKN units, Patricia is a very graceful host. All units we stayed in before had owners who were living somewhere else, but Patricia and Jefferson are nearby. When we arrived, Patricia had set up a beautiful welcome basket with fresh fruit and Hawaiian snacks. She had left a voicemail welcoming any requests for information or items in the condo. Towards the end of our stay she again stopped by and left us a large bag of fresh fruit from their garden. Although the unit is well stocked and we tend to be self-sufficient, it was very nice to know that Patricia was so willing to help. All in all, we enjoyed our stay tremendously. This is now our favorite unit in our favorite condo complex. We very much look forward to returning there on our next trip to Maui.

Relaxation Haven

My husband and I had our honeymoon here and we stayed for 8 days. The condo is very well equipped from body boards, tonnes of towels, beach equipment, to spices and oil for cooking (which you probably don't want to buy a whole bottle for your short stay and then waste luggage space!) Bed was a king size. There's an air conditioner in the living room but we never had to use it (in October) We just turned on the fans, opened some windows and let the sea breeze in. Every night was a good nights rest as the resort is quiet. Amazing to wake up with the sun shining, birds chirping and white curtains fluttering. The resort had coin laundry facilities which we used, free parking (just have to get the pass from the office and they even gave us a information package. They also do a good job in keeping up a nice garden - flowers everywhere! Patricia, our hostess, went out of her way to prepare a welcome basket and called us to check up on us. I highly recommend this place for those who would enjoy a quiet relaxing vacation.

Perfect Package - Ice Included

I enjoyed my stay in this wonderfully equipped unit with a great view in Kihei. It's located across the road from a great beach with two other beaches five minutes away. If you don't like the Kam beaches, two other beaches are about a 10 minute walk. Stores, restaurants, and snorkeling/scuba rental companies are just a short walk from the unit. There is even a natural food/health store by Snorkel Bob's if you want to avoid fast food. There were plenty of kitchen utensils, drink ware, and dishes to make and serve meals. I was lucky to find a few useful condiments in the fridge to help save on the food budget. I found the unit to be clean and welcoming. I was very happy to find ice in the freezer ready to cool my drink and me upon arrival. The beach toy closets are full of useful items for playing or picnicking at the beach. Since the unit is on the third floor, I left the beach toys in the car instead of carrying them up/down the stairs. The only drawback is that I'm short and had a hard time reaching items out of the cupboards and ceiling fan pulls. The complex is landscaped with plumeria and hibiscus bushes, palm trees and is neatly manicured and clean. I would recommend this unit to travelers going to Maui.

A Great Find!

My bf and I absolutely loved our stay here. The condo was clean and spacious with fully-equipped kitchen to make it our home away from home. It got everything we wanted and more -- like beach bag, beach towels and even mats! The location was central -- a few steps away from the nice beaches of Kihei, food and rental shops for water activities. I'm quite skeptical about pics I see online being too-good-to-be-true but this place is definitely what-you-see-is what-you-get. I would definitely stay here again next time I visit Maui. Lastly, we got a chance to meet Patricia since we extended our stay for one more day and what a very pleasant lady! Thanks Patricia =)

Honeymoon 2010

This condo was a great deal. It was equipped with all the comforts of home and the owners provided all of the beach/activity equipment so you did not have to worry about how you were going to lug a cooler or boogie board home on the plane. It was clean and organized when we arrived; and the owners were kind and thoughful enough to leave us a welcome basket (since it was our honeymoon) with a handwritten note congradulating and welcoming us (I truely felt the meaning of aloha with the way I was treated by the owners) who also called on our arrival date just to make sure there was nothing else we needed. Also nice compared to other condos I have stayed in on other vacations was that the owners are local so if something bad were to happen you could deal with them directly rather than a 3rd party or a managment company. The beach across the street was one of the best swimming beaches we visted during our stay (and we visited a lot of beaches). The complex itself was quiet and we were able to leave the windows open at night without traffic/people noise keeping us awake. The aparment was conviently near restaurants, a Safeway and Longs (about 3-4 mins drive time), and the highway. Overall a great condo and a a great deal, with owners who I felt would go out of their way to make sure your stay was enjoyable.

My wife and I had an amazing time staying in the Little Grass Shack. The place was very clean and the owners really offer a lot of fun activities (like bogey boards, football, frisbees, and beach chairs) for the guest to enjoy. The owners are great people who only want to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. The location is nice. It is in the heart of Kihei but still have lots of privacy. There are lots of shops and restaurants that are in walking distance to the place. Also, there is a public beach right across the street from the resort. I would highly recommend this place to my family and friends. My wife and I hope to return soon.

Let me begin by saying that Patricia and Jefferson Stillwell's "Little Grass Shack" in Kihei on the island of Maui is not, in fact, a shack. Nor will you find any grass unless you look down from your lovely balcony (furnished with a table, chairs and a delightful chaise lounge perfectly suited for reading novels or travel guides found indoors on a stocked corner bookshelf). The condo is well furnished, impeccably tidy, clean and amply supplied with everything that you will need to enjoy your stay in Maui. We mixed cocktails with the blender, had English muffins with locally made jams fresh from the toaster, and indulged in Baileys from the Foodland down the road every morning in our steaming cups of 100% Mauiian coffee (also available locally). The fully tiled shower enclosure was fabulous, easily accessible if you are stiff from a long day or a long life of walking, windsurfing, or jogging along the beach and other pathways. If, like this newlywed couple, you hail from cooler climates, you may want to turn on the air conditioner during the first day or night following your arrival at the Little Grass Shack. After that, we turned off the a/c and simply opened all of the windows (of which there are a great many!) in the condo, let the celing fans whirl, and were thrilled to be woken in the morning by the local birds singing the praises of yet another beautiful day in a beautiful place. Upon arriving, you will find a hand-written note and all the supplies that you will need (including beach gear!) to enjoy your time in Maui. The owners are available on short notice, and are very accommodating if anything should arise (as occurred on our last night at the condo). You can walk to local grocers, a vast array oeateries, snorkeling and other rental equipment providers. You will love your stay in Maui if you book your accommodations at the Stillwells' "Little Grass Shack". We would happily return and readily recommend this rental property.

This lovely third floor, one-bedroom condo provides easy access to great restaurants, beach walks, swimming, shopping, golf - everything Kihei/Maui has to offer. The unit overlooks the awesome swimming pool, has 2 tv's, CD/DVD player, internet access and the king-size bed is very comfortable. Also being the end unit, the tradewinds were perfect and the a/c was rarely needed. We also really appreciated the beach supplies and the well-equipped kitchen. Patricia was such a delight to work with in booking her 'Little grass Shack'. Mahalo!

called the "little grass shack" by its' owners, is a one bedroom condo available in Kihei, HI. The unit is in a casual complex just across the street from the Kam II beach with a nice pool and gas grills located around the complex for common use. Parking is easy and convenient. this is a corner unit on the top floor (3rd floor) with an unobstructed ocean view from the lanai, the living room windows, and the bedroom windows. the views are spectacular and during whale season, whale activity can be seen with the naked eye and, in great detail, with binoculars or a spotting scope. the king bed is extremely comfortable and it was very quiet at night--- with the only sound being the sound of the surf hitting the beach. the unit is equipped with everything you can think of for a great beach vacation. if you choose to prepare your own meals, the unit has just about anything you might need. the beach is a couple of hundred yards away. it is a great relatively uncrowded beach (even in high season) and the whale activity you can see from the beach is astonishing. we liked this unit so much we rented it again while we were there.

We had a wonderful vacation at the kehei kai nani, in Kehie Maui, "The little grass shack" our condo was so well equipped with all the beach gear we needed .What was also nice was the kitchen had everything we needed to cook and enjoy the ocean view from our lanai . The property was so well located close to shops and a variety of good places to eat. At 6 pm we could take a short walk just across the street for a beautiful sunset or whale watch while enjoying a glass of wine with our feet in the sand. Our owners we felt went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect down to a welcome basket of Hawaiian treats. Will we return, you bet... aloha

With all the amenities and more, this condo is a true "home-away-from-home". It's very clean, modern, spacious, convenient to everything and right across the street from a top-notch beach with GORGEOUS nightly sunsets! The "little grass shack" was a great place to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversay. The condo was immaculate, well stocked with kitchen supplies and beach supplies down to the lawn chairs, and ice chest. Great beach access, and nice pool at the complex. We liked it so much we have already re-booked for 3 weeks next year. There are restaurants and shops within walking distance.

This condo was perfect the location is the best it is far enough away from the street and only a short walk and I mean just steps from the beach which is right across the street. I loved the view from the lania the flowers and greenery with the ocean in the back ground was beautiful. The condo is very clean and tile floors are the best to keep your feet cool in the humidity. We had a fabulous vacation on Kihei thanks Patricia and Jefferson for a great condo I will highly recommend this Little Grass Shack to our friends. Thanks, Lars and Cindy

We spent a wonderful 5 days at this well-kept condo. It's just the right place to stay if you want to take it easy and relax. It has all the necessities of life at home and on the beach! All of our questions were answered in the informative note we received prior to arriving. We'll definitely think of the "Little Grass Shack" whenever we are back in Kihei! For the most part this was a very attractive rental unit. It was well stocked and a very easy and convenient rental. There is a great beach directly across the street, and two more are a very short walk. All amenities are within easy walking distance. In fact, my only gripes were the amount of light that shines in the bedroom windows at night and the three story walk up to the unit. But the light would be an issue in any unit here, and there are curtains to help block it out. The pool was nice and warm and not at all crowded. The unit was very clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed. The unit is a short drive (or moderate walk) to the marina. Word to the wise: Stay out of Foodland and instead drive to Safeway. If you don't have a Safeway card, get one there before you buy anything. It will mean a savings of hundreds of dollars. In summary, this is a nice rental, owned by nice people, and I would go back.

My husband and I were trying to find an inexpensive way to spend our honeymoon, and we were shocked that one of the cheapest accomadations we found was in Maui. When we arrived at the "little grass shack" in Kihei, Maui, we couldn't believe the value we got for our dollar. The "little grass shack"" was a perfect addition to our honeymoon, it was clean and very cozy! In addition to the well maintained condo, Patricia and her husband provided excellent customer service. When we return to Maui, we will definately stay in the "little grass shack" again.

We stayed for four nights at this condo in June 2009. The condo is in a great location, with a beautiful safe swimming beach just across the road. We didn't use the condo pool, but it looked nice. The ocean view from the lanai was great. Condo provided towels, beach towels and beach mats, boogie boards, beach chairs, chilly bins etc which was awesome. The bed was very comfortable, as was the entire condo!! Kitchen was stocked with a few essestials, e.g oil, salt, coffee filters and some sauces in fridge. Were were amazed by the gift basket full of chocolates, popcorn and macadamia nuts, which Patricia left for us on our arrival. Patricia also provided very good directions to condo from airport, and other helpful information like location of local grocery stores and shops, beaches etc. Our only small problem was that it was very hot in the bedroom at night, which made sleeping difficult. I think that is just Maui for you!! We slept with the fan on low, and lots of windows open!!

This condo was a perfect home away from home while in Maui. The condo was very clean and organized. It had everything you would need from a full kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom, nearby BBQ and ocean view lanai to boogie boards, coolers and beach mats. We were loved the bath-water-warm pool. The beach right across the street had some of the most beautiful sunsets we have ever seen. The location of the condo was ideal. Right across the street from the beach, next door to wonderful restaurants, Moose, Fred's and Lappert's ice cream, and within walking distance of shopping. We would recommend this place to anyone staying in Maui. It's much more reasonable than any resort and it gives you the flavor of Maui in a beautiful setting. We will be back on our next trip.

The "shack" is better than a second home-- the great beaches with much to offer are only a two minute walk. The condo is perfect, very clean, well furnished with all the accesories that made our stay very enjoyable and with the view and sounds of the ocean we can't wait to get back to. The location on Maui is, in our opinion, the best, unsurpassed beauty and easy access to great restaurants, golf beach walks and so on.The unit has 2 tv's-CD player-DVD player and bed is very comfortable. Also being the end unit, the tradewinds were perfect and the a/c was rarely needed. The welcome staff answered all our questions on the spot.This is an exceptional unit and we look forward to another stay soon. High recommendation.***** 5 stars

We have been to Maui in April 2009 and stayed at this beautiful condo for only a few nights, but it was perfect! We enjoyed this Little Grass Shack very much – beside that, organization and communication before our stay was perfect. We have never booked a condo before and we were absolutely surprised by the high standard of this one. Clean, well-equipped and very welcoming, not to forget the lovely gift basket! And the beach is really close, as well as restaurants and shops. I definitly hope to see Maui again some time and will try to visit this hospitable place once more. A very warm recommendation from Austria for this condo and the hosts!

We felt really at home in the little grass shack. Everything needed was available in this beautiful and comfortable condo. It was bright and very clean. We loved to seat there and have breakfast. Everything said about this unit is true! The ocean view is outstanding and visable from everywhere! The end unit makes a huge difference with breezes blowing. We didn't need the AC. We've stayed in many Kihei condos and this is the best! It's the cleanest we've seen and it's not all cluttered with the owner's "decorations" yet it's completely furnished with everything you'll need including beach supplies. The location is perfect across from the best beach and we can walk to our favorite restaurants. The price is right and the owners are thoughtful and caring. We won't stay anywhere else!

This was our first time in Maui and we can say that it was a most enjoyable time! The condo is just right. The location is excellent and "our beach"--Kam II, is the loveliest one around. We drove the road to Hana which was very well worth the drive. We will take home so many memories...the whale watching on our morning walks. We even saw a huge monk seal right on our beach sunbathing on the rocks. Thank you for everything!
