We are located in the exclusive South Beach Community of Salvo on the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, home of the Graveyard of the Atlantic. The South Beach Community is one-tenth of a mile from Ramp 23 and allows Dragonfly to offer exquisite, unspoiled views of the Atlantic Ocean and Pamlico Sound that no other community can offer!!

Our community has a private boardwalk to the beach. The boardwalk is approx. 1200 ft. from the house, which is just a short walk away. There is also a parking area for the boardwalk. The beach is approx. 1800 ft. from the house. We offer a private pool & hot tub. There are three large decks with easy access from all rooms with surround sound as well as a hammock for kicking back and relaxing.

Dragonfly offers the most luxurious and unique art deco decor on the island. You truly cannot enjoy the beauty of this home until you step inside. The first floor comes complete with large lounge/bar area, pool table, entertainment area as well as one of the master king suites. The second floor has five of the seven bedrooms, including two more king master suites and the laundry room.

The third floor is breathtakingly beautiful with "The Master Suite", a great room, large kitchen, dining room, as well as a cozy breakfast nook. The views of the sound and the ocean from every window on this floor are absolutely gorgeous! All of the bedrooms come with their own TV and DVD, which allow for privacy if needed.

Just imagine taking a quick drive to Ramp 23 with your four-wheel drive vehicle or walk to the beach and you will enjoy a fabulous day doing just what you came for, having fun in the sun!! Your day does not have to end when the sun goes down. You can also enjoy a bonfire on the beach at night!

  • Our week at the Dragonfly was one filled with a sense of relaxation, pampering, fun and comfort. We were blessed with beautiful weather every day that we were there. One of my sisters remarked “that it was like being at our own private hotel.” The close proximity of the National Seashore beach was a great gift to all of us. The surf was as high as any of us have ever seen in our lives. We were able to drive onto the beach with our Jeep. It served as a shuttle to bring out beach chairs, water toys and towels. After a day of riding the waves, the Jeep served as our shuttle bus back to the house with weary swimmers as well as everything we brought to the beach. The pool was a wonderful place to relax and have fun. We were fortunate enough to be in Salvo during the full moon. It was absolutely magnificent as it rose over the Atlantic Ocean and lit up the water below. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with a sing-along on the upper deck one evening and playing games just about every night ‘til the wee hours. When it came to cooking dinners we all took turns, and it was a delight to cook in such a well equipped kitchen. The ice machine was a particular favorite. The pool table on the lower level got a work out by young and old. My father was particularly happy to see the pool table. He won just about every match. Thank you so much for allowing our family to enjoy the luxury, fun and amenities of the beautiful Dragonfly in Salvo, NC. We look forward to returning someday.   • This house is absolutely beautiful and has every amenity you could ever need. The views of the ocean and the sound are breathtaking and is something you really must experience. Watching the sunrise is a great way to start the day. Dragonfly would be perfect for a romantic get away or a family reunion. The kitchen is a chef's delight and is really fun to cook in. Having the ocean so close and a heated pool to choose from is really fantastic. The pics on the web really do not do it justice. You have to see it to believe it!!! It is a vacation retreat you will never forget and one that will please the whole family. I can't wait to return this summer!!

  • The Dragonfly is a beautiful vacation home. It has everything you could want. It is a perfect family get-together home or the home the for the parents to have a personal floor and the teens to be on their 'own'. It can't be beat. The proximity to the National Seashore makes it a true jewel. Beach riding and fishing is a blast!! Hope to be back next year!

  • "Dragonfly" is like vacationing at a five star resort. All amenities and conveniences. Perfect for a family reunion or a single family get away. The beach is great and a dip in the pool afterwards is perfect. Make sure you bring your favorite book ... the second floor has the most comforable hammock for reading and even taking an nice afternoon nap. The most relaxing and comfortable vacation I have had in years! Not to mention the decorating is absolutely gorgeous. A must see.
