These spacious (~950 sq ft) accommodations are on a separate level of a contemporary private home built into the foothills of the Tucson Mountains, 300 feet above the city. Located on a quiet residential cul-de-sac, you will enjoy privacy because you have a separate entrance with no one living above or below you. The guest suite includes a full bath with tub and shower, a full kitchen, laundry facilities, and a great room with spectacular panoramic views. You also have access to a cactus garden with a large sculpture you can sit inside to meditate or solve the world’s problems.
The bedroom has a Queen bed, a walk-in closet, a ceiling fan, and a covered balcony. The great room has 11-foot ceilings, 3-skylights, 2-ceiling fans, and is furnished as a dining area and living room. A Queen-sized sofa-bed provides additional sleeping space. A North-facing deck looks across the City of Tucson to the Catalina Mountains that rise above 9000 feet.
The property is located in the Starr Pass Golf Resort Community, within ¼ mile of the new 5-star J. W. Marriott resort, its fine restaurants, Starbucks lounge, and luxurious 20,000 square foot Hashani Spa. It is 10 minutes by car to downtown museums and cultural venues, and 5 minutes to grocery shopping. The challenging 27 hole Arnold Palmer desert course, desert hiking, biking, and bird watching are at your doorstep. The University of Arizona, fine and casual dining, the airport, Mexico, the Desert Museum, Old Tucson Studios, Gem and Mineral Show venues, and many other tourist attractions are nearby.

Why the Owner Chose Starr Pass
Tom and Lorraine built this property because they loved the Southwest and intended to retire to Tucson. This particular location in Tucson provides a unique blend of both the outdoors and the upscale. Many trails are nearby providing an opportunity to hike or mountain bike into the Sonoran Desert. The new 5-star JW Marriott and all related amenities are within walking distance. The University and downtown museums are also easily accessible by car.
The Guest Suite was designed to have multiple uses. For several years it was Lorraine's teaching and studio space. For the past few years it has been converted to be a Guest Suite.

Owner's Map of Starr Pass
Tom and Lorraine designed and built this home while they were working full time in Western MA. Lorraine has a BFA and designed packaging, toys, and children's goods. Tom has an ME degree and did new product development and technical marketing. They met 22 years ago on an elevator while both were on business in Asia. They are now retired. They enjoy art, traveling, hiking, and biking. The photo shows them on a hike in Denali National Park (Alaska) with Mt McKinley in the background.
