This is a very unique house with many amenities. Situated in the prestigious gated community of PGA West between the Nicklaus Tournament and Stadium courses, it is large enough to accommodate around 12 people comfortably while being quite suitable for smaller or larger groups as well. We have had groups with as many as 16 people stay here and yet when my husband and our three daughters come to visit it is perfect for us because it allows us room to spread out but still feel close.
The tropical gardens are lush with bird of paradise, beautiful swaying palm trees, and fragrant flowering lemon and orange trees, and bushes of gardenia and plumeria. Not only is the location perfect for getaways, but it is also well suited to host special occasions and weddings as it has spacious grounds. There are three dining tables outdoors with enough chairs to seat up to 18 people comfortably.
For golfers, it doesn't get any better than this! The house was originally a model home, and is situated on the Jim Mclain golf school range with the Nicklaus Tournament and Stadium courses a stone's throw away. You can literally walk out of the house and onto the golf range to hit balls all day! It is only 30 minutes from the Palm Spring airport and 90 mins from the Ontario airport.
As far as bedroom configurations are concerned....in the main house there is one king bed, one queen, one full-size, two twins (which easily convert into a king), and one queen pull-out sofa bed. The casita (guest house) also has one queen bed. There are also some VERY comfortable sofas for any extra guests and additionally, there are three inflatable queen air mattresses that can be set up throughout the home. We have stocked the home with extra pillows and blankets to accommodate different preferences and also offer full down and down alternative comforters. All bedrooms have their own private bathrooms with showers, and the master suite and casita both have kitchenettes, bars (with refrigerators) and fireplaces.
The beautiful pool area with expansive stone patio surrounds the hot tub, pool, and gas barbeque/outside bar. We have recently upgraded to a saline(salt-water)system that makes the water feel silky smooth and allows you to actually swim with your eyes open with no burning or itching as a result. Great for kids and it leaves your skin feeling wonderful! There are plush lounge chairs for whiling away the time or napping in the sun poolside, an outdoor fireplace for telling stories around, and large market umbrellas for shade also. The stereo/CD player is wired throughout the entire home, including speakers on the outside for your listening pleasure. Perfect for entertaining!
The kitchen is fit for a gourmet chef with double ovens, all granite countertops, a separate bar and wine cellar, and where numerous seats abound. It is stocked with fine dishware and everything your family needs to make lavish meals, cakes and cookies, or just heat up frozen dinners in the microwave. The home has an open floor plan incorporating two dining areas, two living rooms, and a big screen TV for your enjoyment.
There are numerous games, puzzles, and even a game table with authentic clay chips for playing poker, blackjack, roulette, and craps! The home is also equipped with an IPOD stereo/docking station (so you don't have to bring your charger from home!)and DVD/VCR players with many new DVDs for your enjoyment. The entire house has WIRELESS INTERNET (wi-fi) for your convenience.
The jewel of this property is the lovely casita, which is a nice sized guest house that has a queen bed, kitchenette with it's own refrigerator and bar, full bathroom, tv, and indoor/outdoor fireplace. It has its own courtyard surrounded by beautiful gardens. Very romantic and private!
There are numerous shops nearby and more than 4 grocery stores within three miles of the home. Costco just opened and it is only one mile away. Other stores within a 3 mile radius are Best Buy, Wal Mart, Marshall's, Red Robin, Baskin and Robin's, and Smart and Final. Very nearby is downtown Palm Springs with boutiques and designer stores not to mention that Disneyland and LA are only a few hours drive.
