Our house is on a peninsula overlooking an Intracoastal Waterway canal. You can fish, relax, and watch a coastal sunset--all in our backyard. It is a five minute walk to Flagship Harbor Preserve. Its boardwalk traverses acres of Intracoastal Waterway marshes. The Preserve is adjacent to the towering Flagler Beach Bridge, under which is the Moody Boat Launch. You can fish, picnic, or just enjoy the parade of vessels cruising the waterway. If you own or rent a boat you can tie it at our dock. Our deep-water canal has easy access to the Intracoastal and ocean outlets at Daytona and St. Augustine. Fort Matanzas, a preserved Spanish stronghold Dating back to the 1800's, is located in the estuary of the Matanzas River, south of St.Augustine.
Our home is located five blocks from downtown Flagler Beach which has nineteen miles of pristine beaches. The city is "Old Florida", a step back to how life was in the 1950's. The city pier is another venue for fishing. The restaurants along Highway A1A-Flagler Beache's Main Street-all feature fresh seafood. There is free parking for the beach.
Flagler Beach is 80 miles N.E. Of Orlando and 31 miles S. of St. Augustine. Marineland, Florida's first marine attraction is 20 miles away. For golfers, there are LPGA courses in Daytona, the Halifax Plantation Golf Club in Ormond Beach, Ocean Palm Golf Club (a public course in Flagler Beach), and several semi-private courses in Palm Coast, some ten miles N. of Flagler Beach.
Flagler County also has 10,000 acres of nature preserves and community parks. Many of the preserves are accessible by boat. Do not miss visiting the Bulow Plantation Ruins in Flagler Beach, nightlife in Daytona Beach, and shopping in the City Of Palm Coast, 10 miles N. of Flagler. The new Florida Hospital is three miles W. on S.R. 100, the main road into the beach area from I-95 There are also multiple churches in Flagler Beach and the surrounding area. Orlando attractions are a short hour and one half drive.
