"R 2 Cents" is located across the street from the Atlantic Ocean on the quiet east end of Holden Beach. This cute beach house has a "Carolina Room" off the main living area to relax. There is an outside shower and oversized two-car garage with a sink for cleaning fish. The master bedroom is located on the main floor with a bath and the other two bedrooms are upstairs each with their own private bath. Fully equipped. Hair dryers in all bathrooms.
New appliances, countertops, and floors in kitchen. New wood laminate floors in January 2012. New washer/dryer, sliding glass doors,ceiling fans, and NEW UPGRADED MATTRESSES on all beds(2009).
Great views of the ocean from both the front and rear decks of the house and every room in house except one bedroom. Short walk to the Intercoastal Waterway for boating and fishing. 150 steps from driveway to beach access, it takes 2 minutes to walk.
Located midway between Wilmington and Myrtle Beach, Holden Beach is almost 11 miles in length and offers secluded white sandy beaches along the Atlantic Ocean, the island is a perfect place for beachcombers and joggers to enjoy. Holden Beach has a reputation as a quiet, family-oriented vacation destination with very little in the way of commercial development. National Geographic Traveler magazine rated Holden Beach one of the best family beaches in the country. The island has a 35-foot height limit for buildings, and most of the commercial property is on the mainland side of the Intra-Coastal Waterway.
Linens,towels, beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, skim board, and small cooler is provided at no extra charge. Wireless Internet is available.
Maid service upon departure is included unless stay is less than a week.

Why the Owner Chose Holden Beach
We loved going to Myrtle Beach, but couldn't find anything we could afford and it was a bit too busy. We love being close to Myrtle Beach for the attractions and shopping, but love being at this quiet small town beach.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We love being able to ride our bikes around the island without worrying about traffic, being close to the beach, no hassle going anywhere, and the closeness to Myrtle Beach.
This is a must see for a day trip. Can't drive, have to take the ferry from Indigo Plantation (near Southport). You either rent a golf cart or bikes on Bald Head and spend the day riding around the

My sister, husband and I partnered to buy this beach house as an investment. We love Holden Beach and especially the east end where it's quiet. Our family, especially the grandkids, love to come here and they have never known a summer that they haven't come to Holden Beach.

We have spent the last 4 years renting a beach house on Oak Island and wanted to try Holden Beach for a change. We were so blessed to find R 2 Cents and to have dealt with Trish and Kathy. They were personable and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. When we first arrived and unloaded the car after a 8+ hour drive, we headed over to check out the beach. It was right across the street and it was just beautiful. Then we sat out on the front porch on the rockers and listened to the waves crashing on the beach! All three bedrooms are in wonderful shape and the beds are nice and comfortable. We had pretty much everything we needed in the house to make a nice Thanksgiving dinner, and we sat out on the back deck on the table and chairs and enjoyed our dinner as we watched the sun set. We had a small problem with a broken kitchen drawer the night we arrived and wanted to let them know about it, so we called the owner and talked to Kathy's husband who was an absolute wonderful, sweet Southern gentleman. He actually came over the next morning to check it out in between his church's two services. What a guy!! Holden Beach is a VERY quiet island that has no commercialization whatsoever. If you are looking for a wild and crazy vacation, you are on the wrong island. It is quiet, peaceful and we were able to just kick back and enjoy. The weather Thanksgiving Week was actually sunny and in the mid to upper 70's, so we were able to spend one day sitting on the beach watching the fisherman, the joggers and their dogs running by, and the couples just enjoying a leisure walk down the beach. If you even need to go to a grocery store, you have to head over the bridge and go to the grocery store on the other side. This beach house is located on the east end of the island and we could actually see the west end of Oak Island when we were down on the beach. What a wonderful vacation we had and the owners could not have been any better or friendlier. We so appreciated that. We would not hesitate to stay at R 2 Cents again.
