Summer Vacation Rental
Summer Vacation Rental
Overall, a very good experience. The complex is a little dated (1970's?), though our unit seemed to have been updated. The complex is conveniently located near a Vail shuttle stop, which provides access to the entire Vail valley with easy transfer (free!). Our unit was a little "musty" upon arrival from being shut up for awhile and needed some light attention to freshen things, but it was basically clean and in good repair. It was also well-stocked with all conveniences and necessities--someone had even left a nice bottle of wine! There is a decent fitness center (lightly used) and a serviceable pool (heavily used and sometimes overrun) on the premises, as are several very nice tennis courts (seemingly, seldom used). Staff members were courteous and helpful. My criticisms are few. It would have been helpful to have had a "Guest Information Book" (and the spare key) prominently displayed upon arrival to provide useful instructions for managing some minor inconveniences. Circuit breakers had been thrown causing a loss of hot water and incapacitating a significant outlet in a bathroom. We eventually located the breaker box behind a hallway picture and the circuits were easily reset, but prominent display of a Guest Information Book would have made things easier. The property manager was most gracious and accommodating, and "made things right" for us. The bedrooms are on the small side, and the beds are short for us tall guys, but a vigorous day of activities makes any bed seem comfortable. Some nearby units were being remodeled, and considerable construction noise started promptly at 830A daily, making for unsettling breakfasts. Some people have mentioned freeway traffic noise, but high-flowing Gore Creek right out the back (lovely!) drowned out all but the loudest and occasional semi-truck brake noises--perhaps things are different when the creek is not running so full. We left the back sliding doors open at night and were lulled to sleep by running water--very soothing. There was also a sleeper-sofa in the living room. It was not very comfortable, but exhausted kids offered no complaints. Sadly, the unit is directly above a "smoker's" unit, and we had to endure nightly second-hand smoke wafting into our bedrooms very late into the night (early morning, actually). Neighbors were quiet at reasonable hours and very nice. In the short, a very good experience and certainly a property that we would keep in mind if returning to the Vail valley.

the property was very well decorated and equiped! we planned to cook many of our meals and found all the kitchen equipment we needed. However,a couple of things could be improved there:1.the knives are all rather dull and need to be sharpened;2.the glasses were mostly in need of washing before use. For all but the most sound sleepers the highway noise is pretty intolerable.

Great Place to Stay
Great Place to Stay
Property was very clean and well kept. We enjoyed listening to Gore Creek from the bedrooms. Kitchen was very well equiped and we also liked having the satelite TV.It looks like brand new inside and the pictures are an accurate portrayal of the property. The bathrooms are beautiful also! We would be happy to return and have already recommended this property to friends. We loved having the wood burning fireplace, but one caution, you will have to purchase fire wood at a gas station and it can cost up to $8 per bundle. This property is in East Vail which is also close (approx. 25-30 min.) to the Silverthorne outlets. It was a great place to sneak away for the weekend and for the price it was well worth it.
