My husband and I recently stayed here with our elderly pooch. Ron and Liz were very helpful through every step. The kitchen was well stocked with all the smallwares needed to cook "at home" and a farmstand just down the road provided some local goodies. There is a supermarket a small drive away for the rest. The cottage was cozy and neat. The yard leads right down to the water. We own a small pizza shop in Bethel, Vermont and this was the perfect vacation, as we do not get to take much time off! Thanks, jim and nell
Owner response:Nell & Jim, Happy your break from Cockadoodle Pizza proved to be the peaceful rest you needed from your restaurant. We've heard great things about the pizza and look forward to a pie next time thru!!! We are planning a new bathroom on the second floor along with some other changes; hope to see you again. Hear you were doing some fishing! Hope you're not telling too many "fish stories" to your customers!!!

We stayed at the large house in August. It was really quaint and homey. The backyard view of the ocean was just spectacular. I would not recommend this home for elderly folks because of the different levels in the floor plan and no bathroom upstairs. Otherwise it was a fantastic place to rent!
Owner response:Thanks for your lovely review. You will be happy to know we already have bids for a new second floor bathroom. We do find many ofour elderly prefer to slep in the bedroom on the first floor next to the bathroom; come back to check out changes. Yes, the waterviews are fantastic.

My family, which includes 2 teens, loved staying at Harmon Harbor. We had a spectacular view of the harbor from our porch, spent plenty of time on the dock watching the wildlife and the lobster boats, saw bald eagles, kingfishers and a hunting heron up close, and were able to see more stars each night than I could have ever imagined. It was a short trip to beautiful Reid State Park with a sandy beach and lot's of rocky Maine coast to explore as well. We even got fresh caught lobsters right off the boat. The place was clean, spacious and comfortable. We relaxed...all of us!
Owner response:Susan, thank you so much for your wonderful review. We're both from NY and you reminded me to look up at our fantastic sky and stars that we don't see in NYC. Birds, one watcher told me we have 43 varieties. As a retired professional, I always try to make sure our property is welcoming, neat and fully equipped.

I just got home from a wonderful vacation and would love to turn around and go back. The farmhouse at Harmon's Harbor has to be close to my best vacation ever--and I've been all over the world. The ambiance and the view were the best. I was in love from the time I walked in the door. Liz and Ron went out of their way to see that the dogs and I were comfortable. There were interesting things to do every day and we could walk to the lobster pier. Main Sweets was fantastic. And Georgetown Pottery a must see. Next time I will force myself to leave the farmhouse and see more of the surrounding area. Thanks Liz and Ron for your hospitality.

A friend and I stayed in the small cottage in August. The view of the small harbor was gorgeous. Ron & Liz have renovated the cottage and it was most attractive and comfortable. It is furnished with everything you could want including a microwave, coffee-maker, and a gas grill outside. There is a flat-screen TV with Direct TV and a DVD player, if you must make contact with the outer world. We ate our meals at a table on the porch, overlooking the small harbor. Did I mention that the view is gorgeous? If you are into boating or fishing, this is the place to be. Ron was very helpful and had many good recommendations. We picked up some gourmet goodies from the Five Islands Market, less than half a mile away, ate lobster at the picnic tables at Five Island Lobster (maybe one mile away), and enjoyed the view of the boats there. We ended each meal on the pier with an ice cream cone. One night, with friends visiting, we had a fabulous meal at the Robinhood Free Meetinghouse. We enjoyed the wonderful chocolates and candies and whoopee pies from MainSweets. We poked around the shops in nearby Bath. My friend, a knitter, declared the yarn shop to have the best selection she had ever seen. I found the cook shop to have the best selection that I have ever seen. We visited the Maine Maritime Museum and then cruised the Kennebec looking at lighthouses. We lazed on the beach at Reid State Park, a beautiful crescent of sand surrounded by craggy rocks and pine trees. There is a toddler’s lagoon there with warmer water and no waves for the little ones. It was a wonderful two weeks and I would recommend the site to anyone who wants to get away and relax.

My fiancé and I stayed at the small cottage closest to the water in July. The cottage itself exceeded our expectations; everything was brand new and the layout was wonderful for the two of us and our five-year old. The cottage is conveniently located minutes from a great beach (Reid State Park), as well as one of Maine's most picturesque little wharfs, the Five Islands wharf, where we went daily to eat lobster rolls and ice cream. As an added bonus, there is a local outfit that will deliver sea kayaks right to the cottage, and boat tours that leave from the dock. Who could ask for more?In fact, the cottage was so cozy, and the view so beautiful, we decided then and there that we had to get married in that very same location. So, we are heading back to Harmon's Harbor in October for a fall wedding, with people coming from all over (including South America) to enjoy the same view and Maine hospitality.A huge thank you to Ron for all of his advice and accomodation. This is a vacation home we will return to every year.
Owner response:Guess one can say, love is in the air at Harmons Harbor Cottages. Thanks for such a lovely comment; see you in October!

When we dreamed of a perfect vacation home and then found it to actually exist it prompted me to write this; my first review ever. The homes are actually that nice…private, cozy, and clean…with views that are out of Maine scenery book. The day starts with coffee watching the sun glisten off the water in the cove and ends with a cocktail while counting stars from the dock. Activities included a rowboat picnic, hiking on oceanfront cliffs, fabulous fresh seafood dinners, hand-holding in the surf, and just admiring the panorama. Ron and Liz’s knowledge of the local activities and secluded spots proved immeasurable. As world travelers by profession with vast experience in home rentals, the cottage we rented from Ron and Liz will always be at the top of the list for a romantic getaway.
Owner response:Dear Gary, Thanks much for your wonderful review; Liz and I truly enjoyed meeting you and sharing our cottage. You are correct in reminding us that several of the cottages are perfect for all ages, including seniors. Look forward to seeing you again and will have new places and restaurants to share. Ron

In this cottage, we found a place that would be so much more than a base from which to cruise the area. I'm a composer, and I found the sunroom perfect for continuing my work, inspired by the view, while my wife read and engaged in her endeavors. We shopped for fresh lobster and cooked a fabulous dinner each night in the beautifully equipped modern and clean kitchen. Although we claimed we didn't want TV, it was so nice to check in on the news and a couple of our favorite programs via the satellite TV installation. I have never been so comfortable in a rented cottage. This is the first time my wife and I went on a vacation to just "be there", and the cottage was a perfect place for that, and the owners could not have been more relaxed and accommodating. Next time we will bring our kayaks to enjoy the cove from our own dock, which is only a few feet away. We booked two more dates for the coming year and have already begun to feel possessive of our "new find
