Fith Wedding Anniversary Getaway

The location was a bit tricky for my wife and I to find since the street name where the cabin was located had apparently change. We were coming from Milwaukee and unfortunately we had a busy work week. It was getting close to dust when we figured out that the street name had changed. Fortunately my wife saw the new street name when we passed by it for the second or third time. Once we arrived we were ah struck by the beautiful view of the lake. The autumn leaves were peaking. It was a picturesque view. The lake house was also stunning. We walked into the living room kitchen combination and looked out at the pristine East Horsehead Lake. The entire wall facing the lake was ceiling to floor glass. We were thrilled to have arrived. The master bedroom was a perfect size. The living rooms gas fireplace was an extra added bonus. The trip was our fifth wedding anniversary and it could not have been better. We visited Minocqua on our first out of town get away the year before we were married. My wife and I look forward to a return visit. We both bonded very quickly to the neighbor’s dog Hannah. She is very friendly and well behaved. Thanks Brian for the time in your cabin on the lake. Going out on the lake in the paddle boat was also a lot of fun. Thanks again. Laura & Jerry

We love this house. The house is very clean and on the water. We used the paddle boat that was provided. We come up for the Tomahawk Fall ride and there are so many beautiful roads around. The owner is very prompt with responses. We will definitely be repeat customers. Thanks Brian!

This vacation home was exactly as described; quiet, perfectly clean and in a beautiful location, right on the lake. We visited Minocqua, very charming and welcoming town! We stayed the fourth of july week and the lake was never overly busy or crowded. We used the paddle boat and canoe all week. The lake bottom is sandy but with shells and rocks, we recommend swim shoes. The rooms in the cottage were much larger than we expected with very large closets and lots of hangers for us. Our family of four had plenty of space to spread out. On our walks in the area we saw lots of wildlife and we caught fish every day! Another thing to keep in mind, the firepit is very close to a woodsy area, bring lots of bug spray and firewood is NOT provided and the gas station nearest the cottage does not have firewood, you have to go further to get it. We are excited to go back next year!
Owner response:We haven't supplied firewood since not everyone uses the fire pit and to maintain our prices. There is firewood available at the (3) closest gas stations with in approximatley 10 Minutes from our lake house.

Great place to relax, and spend quality family time. Brian is a great host and the cabin is really a house that is very well cared for, and the high speed net access is a real bonus!!! The lake is very nice and there is nice shallow, gently sloping beach.

My husband and I spent 2 weeks in September at this house on Horsehead Lake and had a wonderful time. The house was very clean ,comfortable and the kitchen was nicely equipped. The front of the house was all windows with beautiful views of Horsehead Lake. We kayak and this area of Wisconsin is wonderful with all the rivers, lakes and flowages, just not enough time to do ev ery thing we wanted. We will try again in 2011. The house certainly lived up to what we expected. Thanks Brian for sharing this house.

We were absolutely delighted with the accomodations. The property was extremely well taken care of - very clean and beutifully furnished!! We could tell from the moment we walked in that alot of thought and care was taken in the layout and the upkeep. Our girls enjoyed the sandy beach area and tubing in the lake. The lake is beautiful! We were not very successful in fishing - however another party caught a 42" muskey while we were there! We will be back again to enjoy this beautiful "home away from home"!

The place was great. I am a clean freak - and it was very clean and well cared for. One of the bedrooms had bunk beds and that was great for the kids. The view of the lake is beautiful. We really enjoyed using the paddle boat and kayaks. There is a deck above the boat house which is a great place to enjoy dinner and the sunset. The lake is small and is not connected to any other lakes - that was about the only downfall. Close enough to Minocqua to go in for shopping, horseback riding and good restaurants.

We rented this cabin with 8 people staying in it. Plenty of space for that amount of people. The cabin was very clean and very well organized. Anything you could have ever needed was there (extra blankets, extra lights, toaster, microwave, mixer, the list goes on). The lake was great as well! We went fishing a couple of times and caught quite a lot of fish. We also really enjoyed the little fire pit right outside of the cabin for little hangout spot by the fire. The cabin is only about 20 minutes away from downtown of Minocqua and there is a gas station very close by. We loved it there and would definitely go back and would recommend to anyone else! Definitely an awesome place to stay at!
