Wilderness Acres is up north the way it used to be before it got sophisticated.
The lodge is under new ownership and exclusively yours during your stay with us. It is great for clubs and groups. It is located off I-75, Exit 301. It sits well in, off an old logging road, built into a gentle hillside.
A second-story terrace on the back of the building looks down on a picnic area with a fire pit, for marshmallow roasting or singing camp fire songs, a spring-fed swimming pond, then up, as the land begins to climb again.
You can enjoy 74 wooded acres to hike and explore. It is a bird watcher's heaven and a mushroom hunter's paradise.
We are minutes away from the Pigeon River State Forest and State Land, for snowmobiling, fishing, and hiking. You can climb our highest hill and view the fall colors with no obstructions for 360 degrees, it looks like a patchwork quilt. In the winter you can sled, ice skate, and cross-country ski in your own back yard when you reserve our lodge. Major down hill ski lodges are less than 30 minutes away.
You can cook for 2 to 50 people with our industrial-size stove, three microwaves, and three refrigerators. All you need to do is bring your food, paper products and garbage bags. On the same floor our recreation room includes a wet bar, pool table, bumper pool table, ping-pong table, card table, and a selection of board games, all surrounding a cozy fire place.
Our main floor has a sitting room with another fireplace for relaxing. Our bedrooms can sleep from three to nine in each room. We provide mattress covers, however you need to bring your linens or sleeping bags, towels, toiletries, garbage bags, and toilet paper.
