We could have not stayed at a better place for New Year's Eve. The house was roomy enough for the 8 adults and 7 kids (all 9 and under) we had with us. The walk-out basement was perfect for the kids (slumber party). They spent most of their time downstairs, while the adults were on the main floor. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed and bathrooms had plenty of towels. The lake was frozen, so we were able to do a lot of ice skating. There was a net in the garage that we used to play hockey with. The kids had fun checking out the fishing holes too. We also spent time skiing at Mt. Holiday (5 minutes away) and Crystal Mountain (45 minutes away). There is so much to do in Traverse City and the surrounding areas. The house was clean and all the beds were comfortable. Way better than staying at a hotel. We hope to stay here again and try the house out in the summer. Many thanks for sharing your home with us and we appreciate your hospitality!

Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your beautiful lakehouse. Our girls weekend was a lot of fun. The weather was absolutely perfect. Your lakehouse provided just what the name says - a hideway - from the hustle and bustle of Traverse. What a lovely place, so very peaceful, and yet, only about 10 minutes to Traverse City. We enjoyed some of the sights during the day - the wineries, shopping, the casino . During the evening, your home provided a place to sit back and play cards, put together a jigsaw puzzle, and the most fun of all - just gabbing by the firepit. All in all, it was a great weekend. The house was everything described in the listing - a beautiful home. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, the extra fridge in the garage came in handy, the large deck accommodated everyone and the lakeside firepit was a great place for evenings. Thank you again for sharing your home and for helping groups like ours make lasting memories

This was the third year our family came together from Alabama, Ohio, Wisconsin and Michigan for a week at the High Lake Hideway, and we've made plans to return next year. That's the best evidence of how much we've enjoyed the house, the location, the lake and the efforts Tammy and Kurt make every year to make sure that everything's in great shape. The trampoline's a real hit, the lake is never busy so our jet ski gets a lot of use and the short drive into town makes it possible to enjoy things like the film festival, shopping, restaurants etc.

We rented this house for a long weekend in May with 10 adults and 3 kids. We could not have been happier! This house is perfect for a large group and has many amenities! The veiw is great, and location is perfect, only a short drive to downtown Traverse City and the wineries. Kitchen had all the utensils and items needed to make preparing meals super easy!

Thank you for opening your home to us. The house is clean, well equipped and spacious- the perfect place to have my wife's surprise 30th birthday party. We live in the area but High Lake is just far enough out of town to feel like you've left but very close when you need something or want to get downtown. (For instance, we went on the Downtown Art Walk Friday evening but it only took us 10 minutes to get back to the house, perfect!) We had plenty of room for our out-of-town guests to stay and also to accomodate the locals when we had our birthday BBQ. The house is very clean, the bedrooms are comfortable and with 3 bathrooms there was never any waiting. The two parks (Kirkpatrick and Grace McDonald) that are within easy walking distance offer another great outdoor exercise experience with playground equipment, wooded walking trails and sport courts (Grace McDonald only). The unpredictable spring weather did not allow us to get in the lake and enjoy the paddleboat or kayaks but we had a great time. Thanks again Kurt and Tammy and you can expect to hear from us again.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful winter weekend at the High Lake Hideaway. We had a large group and very much appreciated all the space. There were plenty of beds, rooms, and bathrooms for our entire group. Additionally, it was so nice to be able to all eat meals together at the dining room table - it was also great for big group games. The home is very close to great cross-country skiing which we all enjoyed and is just a few minutes drive from Traverse City. I would highly recommend this home for anyway looking to rent for a large group in the Traverse City area. We hope to be back next year! Thanks to Kurt and Tammy for providing our family with a place where we created fun winter memories!

We stayed with a large 3 generation group between Christmas and New Years. The property was well equpped and maintained. Love the extra large coffe pot! Even thought the snow had been heavy, the driveway and sidewalks were well cleared for our arrival. We'll keep this on our list for future events. You can trust the pictures and room descriptions - they represent the property well.
