CASA MAR at STRANDS BEACH
LOCATION****As you pull off of Pacific Coast Highway on to our palm lined street, you have the ocean to the right and our condominium complex, Niguel Beach Terrace, on the left. At this point you are "steps" away from the Strands Beach at Salt Creek Beach Park.
This area of Dana Point with it prominent coastal bluffs, is also known as The Headlands and is part of what is referred to as the "Gold Coast" or "California Riviera". With Laguna Beach to the north and San Clemente to the south, this is the ideal location for your Southern CA visit. You are central to all of Southern California! 60 miles from Los Angeles International Airport and 60 miles from Sea World in San Diego.

Resort, 25 miles to John Wayne Airport, 5 miles to Laguna Beach,
5 miles to Mission San Juan Capistrano, 80 miles to the

BEACH****The Strands Beach is actually the Southern portion of the Salt Creek Beach Park. It is a popular surfing beach that consistently rates an A+ in water quality. It is common to see dolphins and sea lions while visiting the beach. This is the same beach that guests from the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel and The St. Regis at Monarch Beach use.
CASA MAR (Ocean House)****We spent most of 2006 performing an extensive remodel of this ground level unit. EVERYTHING IS NEW!!! New to the vacation rental market for 2007, this unit has the look and feel of a high end hotel, yet delivers a comfortable home-like feel.
LIVING ROOM****Porcelain tile flooring throughout for a clean sanitary environment. Lighting is recessed and dimmable. The sofa converts to a queen size sleeper. We've added a comfortable arm chair and some ottomans for additional seating. We have a 37" LCD TV with DVD, an AM/FM/DVD player, Wireless Broadband connection, board games, playing cards, assorted children's and general DVD titles. We just added a Wii gaming system.
KITCHEN****Open to the living area and patio, you're always in the conversation. New cabinets, granite, stainless appliances. Fully equipped w/coffee maker, toaster, microwave. Dining area seats six, has dimmable lights and ceiling fan.
BEDROOMS****Master bedroom has a king size bed, Guest has Queen size. Recessed, dimmable lighting with ceiling fans. Porcelain tile floors with large area rugs. Both open to private patios. Master bedroom has DVD/TV. Lots of storage space for your clothing. AM/FM clock radios provided. Iron & board in closet.
BATHROOMS****Master bath has a shower with frameless enclosure, Guest bath has tub w/ shower. Both have extensive tile work, granite, satin nickle finishes and recessed dimmable lighting. Lighted makeup mirror, blowe dryer are provided. Plenty of soft towels also.
PATIOS: There are two. One off the Guest bedroom and Living Room, the other off the Kitchen/Dining area and the Master Bedroom. Both have seating and tables. We also provide a gas barbeque.
AMENITIES: Beach towels, beach chairs, Boogey boards, beach umbrella, a soft sided cooler w/wheels are included. A washer and dryer are also provided.

This condo is beautiful. Every detail was perfect from the decor to the location. We truly enjoyed our stay here and hope to make it an annual vacation. My boys were so excited to wear the wetsuits and body surf with the boogie boards, the beach was beautiful, they found lots of sea shells and crabs too. We loved that the condo had everything we needed, even beach chairs! I'll definitely rrcommend this condo to anyone visiting so cal! Thanks for everything Patrick!

This property is absolutely stunning, well-appointed and as clean as a whistle. I stayed at the 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo for several weeks due to a plumbing disaster in my own (local) home...I can tell you, there may be "no place like home," but during a very difficult time, there was absolutely no place I'd rather be than this luxurious vacation property! The owner was very generous and responsive to any questions. The linens outstanding, very comfortable beds, wonderful flat screen TV & high-speed wi-fi. A kind word of warning to travelers: all properties are not often "as advertised"---and photographs that CAN appear lovely can be misleading---this property is not---it actually may be even more outstanding than advertised. As a local resident, I can tell you, south Orange County--and this location in particular is the place to stay when coming to Southern Californial...you are conveniently located exactly halfway between Los Angeles & San Diego and all the activities each place bring. You are also very close to wonderful Palm Springs and viva Las Vegas is a quick day trip or over-nighter, too. However Laguna, Newport and Dana Point are very hard to beat, and as a person who demands quallity and cleanliness, this property is impossible to beat! I highly recommend it, you will thoroughly enjoy yourself and be most pleased you decided to stay here....

My wife, 3 year old son, and I had a great time staying in this condo in May. The closet full of beach gear came in handy. The condo was in great condition. Everything you can think of is provided, even discount club cards for grocery shopping at Ralphs and Albertson's! Patrick was great to work with. The only negatives were the much longer walk to get to Strand Beach (due to construction) and the fact that the condo pool was under renovation. A membership to a local health club was provided, but it was not the ideal setting for a 3 year old to play in the pool with lap swimmers. These are not big issues, unless you are planning to stay with young ones, then it might be a minor issue. Overall, a great place that we would stay at again and recommend to anyone.
Owner response:Andy,when you arrived last May the construction on the path was almost complete as well as the pool. I'm happy to say that the closest path to the beach is complete along with a nice shower area and restrooms. Our pool/jacuzzi refurbishment was completed last June. Next time you visit, you'll see the incredible upgrades that have been made to our community.

The boogie boards were a first for us and the kids had a blast with them.The location was perfectly positioned between LA and San Diego, easy to get to theme parks, shopping malls,etc. We definitely hope to return !!!!

Well located for beach and restaurants. Accommodation had everything we needed it was decorated to a very high standard. Children well catered for with things for them to do inside as well as toys for beach. We had a fantastic holiday and would recommend Casa Mar whole heartedly.

We enjoyed a weeks stay in Dana Point at this condo over Easter week 2009. It is a lovely, centerally located place to stay in southern California. My husband and 2 children (2 and 5) had a great time. It is very well stocked, impecably decorated and in a delightful location. The owners were accessable and it was an easy process! Highly recommend!

We stayed at this condo for a week during spring break, it is spacious and very nicely decorated, actually better than it looks in the pictures on the web. Kitchen is well equipped which helps a lot with young kids!! Owners handled our transactions efficiently and are very helpful. Best part of the area is strands beach with a spectacular view of the ocean and surrounding hills, we enjoyed watching sunsets and surfers. This beach is perfect for small kids and also for body boarding fun, water is bit cold though! Condo location is about 30-40 min drive from various attractions like Disneyland, Legoland, Flower fields etc, great for day trips Overall great place to hang out and relax !!

We stayed in this condo for a week and very much enjoyed it. We found it to be nicley furnished,comfortable beds, clean and in excellent condition. It was a nice place to return to after busy fun days.
