Pine and Birch Ranch and Retreat is a 50 acre estate comprised of fields of green grass, forests of virgin white pine and birch, as well as our own private spring-fed ten acre lake nestled away in the scenic rural countryside of western Quebec in the Heart of the Gatineau Hills.
The Ranch is home to a small herd of mostly Arabian horses. Our guest accommodations include the Ranch House, Guest House, Bunk House, Cottage, and Cabin. Each of the units has been recently renovated with natural wood flooring and each is fully furnished and equipped. The Ranch House offers spacious living quarters and includes a ten foot long dining table, cathedral ceiling with 18 foot high stone fireplace, and huge west facing deck.

Over the years we have continued to make improvements to the facility and are always interested in getting feedback from our customers as to how to im prove our product and service.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The Ranch & Retreat is unique in that it offers various units that can accommodate different sized groups or families within the same group. Our total sleeping capacity is 34 people when doubling in the double and Queen beds. Our animals are particularly friendly and our guests find it a treat to interact with the horses,barn cats and chickens. We provide water craft on our lake so guests can enjoy a peaceful paddle in one of our canoes or try their hand at rowing around the lake. Our small sandy beach is ideal for small kids and teenagers alike and the camp fire pit is a favorite spot in the evenings.
Owner's Map of Ottawa
Pine & Birch is owned and/or managed by brothers Todd and John Plaskacz. Todd is a corporate lawyer and John is the owner/broker of the local Remax franchise. This unique property was purchaseed by our parents in 1971 and passed on to us in 1999. It doubles as our country get away and represents our lifelong passion to develop a unique family reunion destination.

We found the place very suitable and enjoyed our time there greatly. The back deck, especially given its new roof, was spacious and perfect for meetings, meals, and for just relaxing. The kitchen was well equipped. (We knew if we just kept checking cupboards we would eventually find whatever we needed.) Beds were comfortable, walks through the woods were lovely. All in all, it worked really well for our meetings and our time together as a group.
Recommended for:Age 55+, pet owners, adventure seekers, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with young children.
