Walk, paddle, or float to Gruene!

This secluded custom-built Hill Country Home & Cabin are located on a wooded 1-acre lot (1505 Edwards Blvd., New Braunfels 78132), just 1/2 Mile upstream from the Historic Gruene District, on a 140-foot span of the Guadalupe Riverbank.

Over 100 feet of deck/patio space are available with the large upstairs deck, and an equally large downstairs patio, both of which overlook the Guadalupe River with an unobstructed view of the opposing riverbank and undeveloped limestone cliffs. The yard is shaded by huge Cypress and Pecan trees, and is perfect for outdoor gatherings, especially with the group seating areas and the large stone fire ring.

The upper level includes two bedrooms, the huge Great Room, the large fully furnished kitchen, and the Recreation/Game Room. The large Master Bedroom has a private full Bathroom, and will accommodate up to 4, with the King-Size bed, and 2-Twin beds in the form of a pop-up Trundle. The second upstairs bedroom has a Queen-size bed. The Great Room has vast expanses of River Views, and is open to the kitchen containing the shared fireplace. Additionally, 2 can be accommodated in the Great Room, by using 2 large sofas as sleepers.

The downstairs has 3 bedrooms. 2 of the bedrooms will accommodate up to 3, each with a King-Size Bed and a pop-up Trundle. These also have private full bathrooms, and sweeping views of the River. The center downstairs bedroom will accommodate up to 4, with 2-Bunk Beds, and 2-Twin beds in the form of a pop-up Trundle.

The detached Rustic Cabin can accommodate 2, with a King-Size Bed and a private full bathroom. The cabin also has it's own private deck, 10-foot rustic cedar-stay privacy fence, seating areas, a porch-swing, and it's own private River View and wooded yard.

The property can easily accommodate 5 couples in private bedrooms, and can accommodate an additional 11 people, for larger family/group outings.

There are 2 sets of rapids that just a short paddle upstream (in the direction of Canyon Lake/the 1st Crossing) or downstream (towards Gruene). Life vests are provided as well. Additionally, fishing equipment is provided to fish for the abundant Bass, Perch, Carp, and (occasionally) Trout, in the Backyard. Wildlife is abundant here, including Deer, Racoon, Armadillo, Fox, and the occasional Skunk. Birders will appreciate over 200 species of exotic birds, including the local Owl, Falcon, Egret, Cormorant, and Duck populations. Arrangements can be made with the local River Outfitters for group float/raft/kayak trips. Simply have youself picked up at the property, taken upstream with lunch provided on the River, and float/paddle to you own Backyard as an easy end to your trip.                     We comfortably fit 17 people and we had an amazing time. Our favorite thing to do was sit around the fire pit by the river. We hope to come back again next year.

                    Chris, thank you for alowing us to stay at Gruene River House! We had a wonderful time celebrating our Daughter's 21st Birthday with family and friends. The accomdations were perfect with plenty of room to spread out. The rec room with the ping pong/pool table was a big hit with the college crowd. The Kayaks got plenty of use as well as the fishing gear. This is a perfect family/friends get away spot. The house was very clean and stocked with absolutely everything. We hope to be back for a longer stay in the summer.

                    With our families scattered all over the states, we try to get together once a year for a few days of just visiting and catching up on each other. The house and cabin was ideal for what we needed and we certainly enjoyed our stay there. All the river “toys” were a joy to some of the younger people as well as those of us not so young anymore. Rhonda and I will certainly pass along our recommendation to have next year’s get together in Gruene. This hostess job is rotated among the siblings so who knows what will be our chosen destination in coming years. We thank you for a great stay and we certainly will recommend your house and cabin to those who want a nice, quiet place to be along the river. Sincerely, Pauline G. Huth

                    Thanks for a wonderful family reunion weekend at your fabulous home on the river in Gruene! The house was so well stocked with everything we needed in the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms. Comfortable beds, a great ping pong table, kayaks, firepit with wood provided, great den for gathering with family. Lots of great restaurants within 10 minutes of the home. Went to the Canopy Adventure at the Natural Bridge Caverns, just 30 minutes away; ages 3-79 all had a blast! And enjoyed Landa Park in New Braunfels, just 10 minutes away as well. FANTASTIC!

                    The house is spacious and comfortable, well stocked, and has lots of seating space for hanging out in the living area. The views out to the river are spectacular! Windows basically line the back of the house so that the beautiful rolling lawn and sparkling river are visible from almost every room. The deck was a favorite place for wine and dinner in the evenings and coffee and breakfast in the mornings. We spent lots of time on the river, the water was too cool for most of us to swim, but it was perfect for kayaking. The fire ring turned out to be a very big hit at night, we made s'mores of course, had a few beers, and had a truly wonderful time all sitting around and talking by the firelight. Everyone in our group wants to go back, so we are already making plans to return to this special place.

                    We float the river once a year to celebrate our birthdays and this place was the perfect house to rent. It was furnished with everything we needed and it was so easy to work with Chris. The house has plenty of room and allowed for large family dinners and backyard fun.                     We had a family reunion with 27 people in attendance. Everyone had a great time. The best part is being so close to the river and having kayaks available for our use. We enjoyed seeing all the wildlife: including lots of deer, turtles, and snakes! The house is located in a very quiet neighborhood and we enjoyed visiting with the neighbors on both sides. Would definitely stay there again!
