We had an amazing time during our month's stay here. We had beautiful sunsets every day fot the entire month. There are decks on the 2nd & 3rd floor of this home, in addition to the patio on the 1st floor. The 2nd floor deck has lounge chairs, great for relaxing with a good book. We also loved the 3rd deck with its lovely breezes and great view of the Pacific Ocean, We sometimes ate breakfast on that deck, or played cards, and at times we had a visit from a cute little Monkey named Poncho. If you like fish, there is a man named, Victor, who will come in the evenings and ring the doorbell and will have fresh fish caught that day, including Mahi Mahi, Lobster and Shrimp. We bought some a few times and cooked in on the great Grill that is on the Patio! Wonderful, if you want to eat home instead of going out. There are 2 of our favorite Restaurants close by, about a 5 min. drive to Rt. 34. They are: Villa Hermosa, and down a little further is Jungle Surf. Both have breakfast, lunch and Dinner at reasonable prices. While staying here we went zip lining, went on a monkey tour with the father of the monkeys, horseback riding to a mud spa and went on a crocodile tour. All great adventures. The home is beautifully decorated, clean, and very comfortable; and the beds were very comfortable which makes for a good night's sleep. We highly recommend this home, and hope to be back in the future!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

I honestly don't know where to begin. From the moment we spoke to the owner, Tim, to the ease of booking, to the accurateness of the description - everything was perfect. The house is perfectly situated for anyone who loves the beach, or the pool. The gated community was safe and clean and people were very nice. The house was incredibly appointed - we had two adults and three adult children in this house and we all had so much privacy! There are three gorgeous decks - the one on the rooftop looks EXACTLY like the pictures. In fact, all the pictures depict the property accurately. We woke at 6am, walked out onto the deck off of our well-appointed Master Bedroom and fed a monkey there every morning at 6am. We would go to sleep every night listening to the sounds of the waves and wake up at 5:30am with the sun streaming in through the large windows. You are close to attractions like zip lining and volcanoes, snorkeling, fishing...too much to mention here. This is a great spot for couples, families with young children and families with older children...I would absolutely recommend this beach home to my friends.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We took 5 teenage boys - all competitive surfers - to the best surf destination in Costa Rica - right outside our door. What an amazing time! As a reluctant foreign country travel in charge of other peoples children I was very relieved to find a completely safe housing community and a fully stocked, gorgeous home. Travel was easy. Customs and rental car (Dollar) was simple. We cooked every meal and were pleasantly surprised to find that everything we needed was found in this well appointed gourmet kitchen. The house fit the seven of us comfortably. The balconies were so enjoyable - to our delight, a monkey joined us on one morning! Tim provided us with detailed information about directions, places to see, etc. Ingrid met us at the house and was available for any questions, arranging transportation, etc. The pool guy, Juan Jose was helpful with surf boards, boogie boards. The neighbor, his adorable son, and dog were so friendly. Rafael, the Father of the Monkeys tour, was the BEST!! Be sure and check the cupboards before grocery shopping as many items are available. The beaches were miles of crowd-free walking. Warm waters. Mostly sunny this time of year with some nighttime storms. Way too much to list really - an absolutely worry free, perfect vacation destination.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just returned from a week at Casa Van Zoost. This is by far the best appointed VRBO home we have ever stayed in. The attention to detail, the well stocked kitchen, availability of Tim and Ingrid, make this house exceptional. The neighborhood is lovely, the pool is large, and the beach is beautiful and uncrowded. There are many areas to relax in the house and plenty of room to spread out. Six of us were very comfortable here. The house is located within an hour of many sites. Tim's recommendations were spot on for dining and site seeing. A car is highly recommended, but the house is very close to Jaco for shopping and dining so a taxi would be easy. Driving in the area was much easier than we expected and the new highway is very nice. I would recommend this house without hesitation and hope to be able to return at some point in the future. Thanks, Tim!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We (two couples from the United States) stayed in the Casa Van Zoost in February, 2012 and found the house to be wonderful. It is very comfortable, beautifully maintained and decorated, has a well-equipped kitchen, and plenty of both indoor and outdoor sitting areas to provide a great vacation get-away for both adults and children. The gated community of Hermosa Palms and its distance from the rather tacky tourist town of Jaco (a private car is must) made us feel very secure. The beach, just a five-minute walk from the house and past the large swimming pool, is smooth for walking and perfect for watching the sunsets. The owners of the house and the on-site property manager were extremely accommodating and easy to work with. Hermosa Palms provided an ideal location from which to visit the Carara and Manuel Antonio National Parks, and is an easy drive to or from San Jose. We would definitely stay at the Casa Van Zoost again.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We had a great three-day stay here. The house was well appointed and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the rear balconies and patio where we were entertained by the neighborhood cat and a neighbor's monkey. The manager, Ingrid, was friendly and very helpful. The sunsets on the adjacent beach were magnificent. A great place to stay in the Jaco area!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We highly recommend this beautiful, comfortable and very nicely decorated house to anyone. If you like to be close to the beach with all the comforts of home, this is the place to choose. The house is within a gated community, which makes it very safe with 24/7 security. The third floor terrace offers spectacular sunsets and ocean views. Tim and Ingrid were always very helpful to all our concerns.Would definitely consider coming back!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We just returned from a week at this beautiful home. It was all it said and more, the photos do not do this house justice. The house was clean and more than comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. We had fresh flowers. We loved the pool area and the beach. We also liked the security it offered. Our weather was great and we visited Manuel Antonio National Park, the turtle sanctuary down the road (the highlight of the trip), and shopping in Jaco. We took a trip to La Fortuna and went on a canopy tour with Ecoglide, went to Baldi hot springs and Arenal Nationa Park. You need two days for this (it is a 41/2 hour trip one way) and a really good map but it was worth it. I cannot say enough about the help that Ingrid and Tim were, they made our trip wonderful and stress free. If you are looking for the perfect house in the Jaco area, look no further, this is it. If we ever get the chance to return, I would look no further, we would stay here.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+.
