We just returned from a week at Casa Van Zoost. This is by far the best appointed VRBO home we have ever stayed in. The attention to detail, the well stocked kitchen, availability of Tim and Ingrid, make this house exceptional. The neighborhood is lovely, the pool is large, and the beach is beautiful and uncrowded. There are many areas to relax in the house and plenty of room to spread out. Six of us were very comfortable here. The house is located within an hour of many sites. Tim's recommendations were spot on for dining and site seeing. A car is highly recommended, but the house is very close to Jaco for shopping and dining so a taxi would be easy. Driving in the area was much easier than we expected and the new highway is very nice. I would recommend this house without hesitation and hope to be able to return at some point in the future. Thanks, Tim!

We (two couples from the United States) stayed in the Casa Van Zoost in February, 2012 and found the house to be wonderful. It is very comfortable, beautifully maintained and decorated, has a well-equipped kitchen, and plenty of both indoor and outdoor sitting areas to provide a great vacation get-away for both adults and children. The gated community of Hermosa Palms and its distance from the rather tacky tourist town of Jaco (a private car is must) made us feel very secure. The beach, just a five-minute walk from the house and past the large swimming pool, is smooth for walking and perfect for watching the sunsets. The owners of the house and the on-site property manager were extremely accommodating and easy to work with. Hermosa Palms provided an ideal location from which to visit the Carara and Manuel Antonio National Parks, and is an easy drive to or from San Jose. We would definitely stay at the Casa Van Zoost again.

We had a great three-day stay here. The house was well appointed and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the rear balconies and patio where we were entertained by the neighborhood cat and a neighbor's monkey. The manager, Ingrid, was friendly and very helpful. The sunsets on the adjacent beach were magnificent. A great place to stay in the Jaco area!

We highly recommend this beautiful, comfortable and very nicely decorated house to anyone. If you like to be close to the beach with all the comforts of home, this is the place to choose. The house is within a gated community, which makes it very safe with 24/7 security. The third floor terrace offers spectacular sunsets and ocean views. Tim and Ingrid were always very helpful to all our concerns.Would definitely consider coming back!

We just returned from a week at this beautiful home. It was all it said and more, the photos do not do this house justice. The house was clean and more than comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. We had fresh flowers. We loved the pool area and the beach. We also liked the security it offered. Our weather was great and we visited Manuel Antonio National Park, the turtle sanctuary down the road (the highlight of the trip), and shopping in Jaco. We took a trip to La Fortuna and went on a canopy tour with Ecoglide, went to Baldi hot springs and Arenal Nationa Park. You need two days for this (it is a 41/2 hour trip one way) and a really good map but it was worth it. I cannot say enough about the help that Ingrid and Tim were, they made our trip wonderful and stress free. If you are looking for the perfect house in the Jaco area, look no further, this is it. If we ever get the chance to return, I would look no further, we would stay here.

My wife and I returned to Costa Rica 22 1/2 years after our honeymoon there in 1988. This time, however, we had two of our children with us! We chose Casa Van Zoost after reading other reviews and believing this to be a perfect home away from home for our week long stay. The house was extremely clean and well maintained, and was close enough to Jaco, Manuel Antonio, and many other great Costa Rican must sees. We enjoyed the Macaws and hummingbirds, roof top patio with hammocks and a fresh plate of papaya and mango and freshly brewed morning cup of CR coffee, or simply spending time at the pool and beach side pavilion to relax in the shade while the kids swam (yep, we're the old people now that just sit by the pool!) The house was just as described, and the local house manager, Ingrid, was very helpful. We always felt very safe and at home while in the community. We rented a car from Zuma Car Rental in Jaco and can highly recommend them as well. I am certain that if we were to return to Costa Rica, we'll want to stay in the Casa Van Zoost again. Thanks for opening your home to us.

Tim, your home is fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Van Zoost with our friends Don & Janice. All the rooms are spacious, modern and very clean. The guys especially enjoyed the hammocks on the top level every afternoon, we knew where to find them at the cocktail hour! The men also enjoyed deep sea fishing and were successful in catching huge sailfish! Thanks for the recommendation! We toured Costa Rica for a couple of days and regret not getting a car for longer. Next time! If you are looking for a place to relax this is it! Thanks Tim for all your help and your recommendations for the Marriott and 'Lemon Zest'! They both are definitely great restaurants! Thanks also to the neighbors and especially Ingrid who were there to help and answer any questions. We are envious you have such a wonderful spot! We will definitely return in the future.......

This was our second visit to Hermosa Palms and Casa Van Zoost met all of our expectations. The home is well appointed and comfortable for a family. The weather was great and it's hard to find a nicer pool and beach anywhere. A great surfing spot! Tim was very helpful and we would definitely recommend this property.

We had the most wonderful stay our first and second time around. Our first visit was in November, during a week long torrential downpour (not the norm for the area). Tim convinced us to visit again and give the Costa Rican weather a chance. We were not disappointed. We returned in Feb. to Casa Van Zoost. It was just as memorable the second time around. There is tons to do with the pool and beach just steps away. The home is fully outfitted with all of your needs. Shopping and excursions not far away at all. You can rent a car or take a taxi where you need to be. We met tons of wonderful people in the neighbourhood. Many we promised we would return in the coming years! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Hello Tim! Just to let you know we had a great time! The house was lovely & we had no problems whatsoever. We met your neighbors across the street & gave them some of our snapper which the kids caught on Fri. along with two huge Rooster fish. It is a wonderful neighborhood & an easy walk to the beach via the pool which we took advantage of. One son was out surfing every day that he wasn't fishing. I went beach combing & came back with some great wood pieces. We had beautiful weather in CR. Hope to rent from you again in the near future, we had such a great time! The grill worked great! We cooked tuna steaks & mahi mahi on it several nights. Take care & have a Very Happy New Year.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in at this gorgeous home. The attention to detail is incredible and the third floor deck and out-door shower will are fantastic! The directions and insight and eased offered by the home owner was above and beyond. If considering travel to Costa Rica this is the place to stay! There is so much to do and the beach which is just steps away from the house is stunning. We will be sure to come back again and again!

The house was amazing and lots of detail was paid attention - making it even more comfortable. The house was very close to the beach and pool which was a great option when we were getting up for morning and evening surf sessions. There was a great break right out side of the hermosa palms gate and many other ones to walk to. The roof deck provided great views to check out the surroundings and relax in the hammock to the ocean breaking. Hermosa and Jaco are both short drives and I would recommend having a car available but we used cabs to get into both towns which worked out ok too. Tim's and his Playa Hermosa contact were both so helpful and accommodating which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Dear Tim, Everything was wonderful, rained alot, but we managed to work around it. Your home is lovely and everything was perfect. We loved watching the hummingbirds feeding on the orange flowers outside of the dining room window every day. The kids enjoyed the outside shower. We traveled about 4500 kil. and even drove to Panama. thanks again, Pat

This house has it all! What a wonderful place to stay in Hermosa! I would recommend this place to anybody! With five people, two couples and one other person, it was nice to have so much room in the house. Also having a beach front pool and beautiful private beach was great. The water filtration system on the fridge was also a very nice option to have and saved us from buying and lugging in jugs of water. Tim, the owner, was especially helpful giving great directions and information about local activities. Also the staff down in Hermosa Palms was very friendly. All in all this is the place to stay and I'll hopefully have a chance to stay here again soon.

This house was the perfect location for everything our vacation entailed. It is right on the beach in front of some of the best surf in the world; my husband was able to surf every morning for about 4 hours. Because of its location, I was able to choose whether to sleep in or join him on the beach. The views of the ocean from the deck were unbelievable! Access to Jaco and other locations were perfect. In addition, Tim (the owner) was so helpful in answering our questions about the area. He made our stay wonderful. We would definitely go back!

If you have never been to Costa Rica, this is the place to stay. If you have been to Costa Rica and not stayed here, you are in for a treat when you do. After more than 7 trips to this beautiful country, this was hands down the nicest place I've stayed. From this home, you are steps from the private pool and the private beach. We had 8 people stay here for 7 nights and had not 1 complaint. There is plenty to do in and around this area, or you could be content staying in the neighborhood relaxing. Its close enough to Jaco, that you can almost say you are in Jaco, yet you are far enough off the main road that you would never know Jaco is around the corner. This home gets my best recommendation, and to top it off, dealing with the owner was very pleasant. All parts to the process were smooth and went as planned.
